This was a perfect one night stay. The early check-in time let me maximize the day. I walked a few laps at the farm throughout the day and had plenty of time to go to the state park and also check out Big Truck Brewing. Had a great breakfast with some food from the farm store and access to the barn for water and a bathroom were a nice bonus. I’d definitely stay again.

What a gem! Only 30ish minutes from downtown Baltimore, but a perfect escape to the sounds of nature and away from the city. The farm is beautiful, the farm stand is well stocked with seasonal produce, eggs, meats, and sometimes treats like ice cream or fresh bread. Christy knew I was camping for my birthday and she left me a bud vase of zinnias, a delicious fresh gooey cookie, and directions to a great nearby spot on the river that I walked to. This was a perfect getaway and exactly what I was looking for.

We had a wonderful time on Christy’s farm. She is a great host, friendly and communicative. I enjoyed seeing the animals and her cute little store where you can buy local products. We used her property as a basecamp to local breweries. Highly recommend Big Truck Farms and Ivernress Brewing. Firewood provided was a plus. We will definitely be back!

Kitchen Girl farm was such a blast! We did the farm tour and our 2.5 year old loved the animals and all the farm equipment, especially the tractor :) Christy was a great host and answered our many questions about farming. The farm stand is so cute and has so many awesome goodies! Our produce box was great, had all the perfect ingredients for a fresh salad which we could make in the kitchen. The history of the barn is super cool and it was nice to have a functioning kitchen and bathroom available. Keep in mind this is not wilderness camping, you will be close to a road. But it's quiet, comfortable, and you're surrounded by nature. There's also great hiking close by which we enjoyed.

The farm is nice and the area is peaceful. The kitchen is a plus – it made meal clean up easy. The campsite is near a road and a couple of homes but the road isn’t busy and the neighbors are very friendly. It’s a good place to stay if you would like to bike the NCR Trail. The White Hall NCR Trail Parking lot is just a few miles away. Buy the eggs!

I loved camping at Kitchen Girl Farm. It is stunning out there. We stayed at the site next to the barn and used the grill and got to hang out by the blooming daffodils. In the morning we woke up and made coffee and went on a little walk around the property. It was so peaceful and the historic barn is so beautiful. Such a pleasant stay so close to Baltimore but you feel so tucked away in the country.

Christy's place was perfect for our needs. My husband had a trade show in downtown Baltimore which was 30 min away by light rail (and a 30 min drive on a Saturday morning). We were close to a great biking rail trail and tons of gorgeous hiking in the State Park.
Our tent site was private but easy to find and nice and level.
There was a burn ban on so we couldn't use the fire ring but it was close by with lots of dry wood under a tarp.
The kitchen was darn cute and contained everything that would be needed (though we were camping and had all of our own gear so didn't need to use hers.) It was nice to have a little table and chairs out of the wind, rain, and November darkness.
We appreciated that Christy left us drinking water and pails for flushing (the well pump is solar powered so no running water after dark).
The site is close to the interstate which is convenient but if you want a quiet night we could hear the highway noise quite clearly.
If you have allergies be aware that there's a walk through the barn into the barn basement to get to the toilet. I was fine in the kitchen which is well ventilated, dry, and mostly free of dust but the visit to the loo left me a bit wheezy.

Christy was super helpful and responsive before and during the stay. The spot was clean and provided a really good view of the Alpacas and chickens, as well as the gorgeous night sky.
The farm fresh eggs were definitely worth it!!
We will be back when it’s a little warmer.

STAY HERE! I had an absolute blast staying at the farm and will return with my family often. This is a perfect place to stay for anglers or hikers interested in fishing the Gunpowder River. The Bunker Hill Rd parking lot is a 2 minute drive/15 minute walk from the farm and you can easily catch the sunrise and sunset on the water. The property is beautiful, Christy is an incredible host, and I simply cannot wait to return! Thank you, guys!!

I loved how easy this was to get to from Baltimore city. My favorite part was getting to explore the farm and admire the alpaca and chickens. We could see so many stars at night. Campsite was great with ample wood, fire ring, table, and plenty of water. Christy was responsive when I had questions. Google maps took me down the wrong road at first so heads up for that. The only downside for me was that the sound of traffics/cars at night was louder than I anticipated. In the morning I went to a trail along the gun powder falls that was super close by that was beautiful.

We had a great weekend and were thankful to have access to restroom and kitchen area as added amenities. Definitely bring a flashlight and be mindful of your balance while going down the steep stairs to the bathroom. There was enough space for us to share the site with our friends so multiple tents. The site is right next to the road / across the street from two houses so not a private site if that is something that is important to you. We had T-mobile cell signal, maybe 1 bar but never had an issue, though we didn't really use it so there's that. Loved having access to the market and getting to explore by the herb garden! You can tell a lot of time and attention has been put into it. Oh and SUPER close, 3min drive or 20 min walk, to a ton of trails.

Our stay was so beautiful and lovely! The grounds are easy to navigate and it’s fun to watch the chickens and alpaca hang out! There is no picnic table, so I’d recommend bringing a folding table. Otherwise, beautiful stay and great communication from the hosts! Would definitely recommend.

Kitchen Girl Farm was a wonderful little getaway to escape into nature. We were able to bike down to Gunpowder Falls State Park (though I don’t recommend it—biking back up the hills proved difficult!) and drive 5 minutes to the rail trail. The little kitchen area made cooking and cleanup so much easier than primitive camping! Our stay was quiet and comfortable, and you can’t beat modern plumbing!

We had a great stay. The little kitchen in barn was so great to making camping easier. A nice little get away night from the city. A small spot was all we needed for a good fire and restful night of quiet. You can hear 83 a bit in the distance but we didn’t notice unless we focused on it.

Great hosts! What a cool old barn and definitely get the fresh eggs for breakfast! We brought our bikes and rode around the hilly but scenic (and no traffic!) area, and hung out at the gunpowder river. Had a great time on a hot summer weekend!

My partner and I had an incredibly beautiful time at Kitchen Girl Farm! Great communication, directions, and fun recommendations from the beginning. We requested a farm tour and Christy blew us away with the story of building the farm, showed us all the stages of preparing the soil and growing food, and introduced us to the many animals! We saw a chicken lay an egg! Highly recommend taking the farmers up on the tour if they are available, to get the full experience of the land. Very inspiring.
It was a great location for all sorts of water and outdoor activities. We went to the peaceful Prettyboy Reservoir (you do need a permit for boating and no swimming allowed), the Torrey C. Brown rail trail (there's a snow cone and wading spot by the parking lot), Staircase Falls, and the Masemore Water Trail.
We stayed at the site by the 200 year old barn, which we could easily go into to use the bathroom and sink. We loved seeing the rustic dance floor inside, the historic structure, and the view of the picturesque fields below. It is very far from the other campsite and is secluded from the farm entrance, though it does slightly overlook the road and a couple neighboring houses. Overall a lovely, quiet spot. We had a campfire with firewood they supplied and saw fireflies in the trees! We are excited to camp here again!

We loved this site! It is quiet and secluded, Christy and Connor were friendly and responsive, and the views were fantastic! Not to mention their pup was a welcome visitor to our site. Close to the gunpowder. Be warned - there isn’t a lot of shade at the campsite but if you catch a breeze it isn’t bad. We’ll be back!
