Located two hours inland from the coast, we are nestled in the Lakes & Mountains region of Western Maine. People enjoy our destination campground for the abundance of vast land and experiences that surround us. ATVing, hiking, nature walks, swimming, fishing, kayaking/boating, and yes even, Gold Panning (Swift River is known for some of the cleanest gold in the US). Mornings are full of people getting ready to find their adventure. Afternoons are relatively quiet and evenings are filled with happy exhausted guests that like to take in the night sky and the smell and sounds of a crackling bonfire. Site 44 is great for a Travel Trailer/5th Wheel Camper/Motorhome. It is located at the end of the road and does require you to do some maneuvering. The driver will have to turn into the driveway of site 42 and then back into the site. Site 42 are seasonal guests and are aware that you will have to use their driveway to get situated into site 44. If using it as a group site, please call the office to discuss. It Can accommodate 1 motorhome/Tent and 1 Travel Trailer/5th Wheel Camper for a group site. If used as a group site and having a motorhome, the motorhome will have to back out of the site and down the road upon departure. They will be able to turn around using site 46 if it is unoccupied. 30 amp electricity and water (Shared for Group, will need splitter) It will fit up to a 26' foot camping unit. The total Parking Pad area is 36' deep by 32' wide + with picnic and fire pit area.

Cabin 01 is located on the left side of a duplex-style cabin. This cabin sleeps up to 6 adults The main floor is an open kitchen, dining room, living room, master bedroom, and one full bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The upstairs loft has four twin-sized beds. Cabin Accommodations Include: Bedding, pillows, and bathroom/kitchen towels are provided. A cooking range, full-size refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and a 6-piece set of plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, and utensils are provided. As well as a 13-piece pan/pot set, a knife set, spatula, serving spoon, can opener, corkscrew, hand/dish soap, and drying rack. Free Starlink satellite Internet and Dish Satellite TV. You can make calls from your cellphone if you turn on the WiFi Calling feature (no landline phone). This cabin also has a covered porch an outdoor picnic table, a grill (May to October), and a fire ring. It is smoke-free and dog friendly, and also within walking distance of the Swift River. It’s a beautiful view and nice cabin. The camp ground are pretty rough of the roots and big rocky everywhere. River is very low but nice cool off in swimming hole and clear water.

This is one of Maine's greatest kept secrets. Shhhhh... Don't tell too many, just get over there and enjoy this great location. Bring towels, blankets and food as there are no stores nearby with the exception of a well-placed ice cream parlor. ATV rentals, guide services, cabin rentals and the best swimming hole in the state.

Steve & Michelle are very kind people who own a campground for all the right reasons! Steve took time out of his busy schedule to show us around & share some fun camping stories with us. He was SO accommodating & made us feel right at home! As we were walking around Steve looked down and saw a bottle cap, immediately picked it up & put it in his pocket. From that moment on, we were sold! We see many amazing memories being made here as we park our RV for hopefully many years to come.

ONE OF A KIND PLACE! Actually i am a bit hesitating to write a review on Coos Canyon and Coos Campground, as i would like to keep this place only for us!! We spent 2,5 days of pure fun along the Swift river. Hopefully, this place will not become “too commercial” or too crowded in the future.

A beautiful, great site to see. Small store across the street, and a small public outhouse. Great for a quick visit on the way to Rangely. Spring and summer the store across the street does instructional classes on gold mining as well. Pets allowed, not a lot of seating, but some picnic tables for a quick lunch.

The brook offers such an amazing variety of summer fun. From tubing to cliff jumping, swimming to exploring and then there is the beauty of the surrounding mountains. There is a magnificent site called "Angel Falls" which is only a 10 minute drive from Coos. I take my family here every summer.

Great location and easy to find. Everyone was friendly and helpful, staff and other campers alike. The camp sites are pretty close together so there really is no privacy and noise was a bit of an issue both nights. Overall a decent campground and not a bad spot to take kids.

Had our site, #14, within spitting distance to the canyon cliffs, which are fantastic. Went to sleep with the sound of rushing water, loved it. Sites were clean, quiet, bug free, which was surprising. For $22 a night, could NOT beat the value versus price. Note, no flushable toilets, but the toilets were very clean and had no smell. We will be coming back here again
