Immaculate mowed lawn area perfect for a tent. Bucolic setting on a small farm. No picnic tables but I used my camping table and it was fine. I did see a fire ring. Bugs disappeared after sunset and temps dropped. Refreshing and relaxing overnight stay with wifi and a shower.

I enjoyed my stay at Williams. I had the place to myself for the night. It was very nice to allow my dog to run free off the leash. The summer heat in September was still in the 90s, but the outside shower came in clutch to cool off and refresh. It was the first time my dog saw a horse! I think shes mesmerized. Only downside would be the bugs. Make sure you bring some spray. I didn't realize how bad I got chewed on until a few days later. There is a train that passes by so be aware of that for anyone that's trying to completely get away from city life.

Well I never got there the weather was an issue. I tried canceling but couldn’t figure out how, I may have been to late, it was the morning of check in at 3:00. Not upset, would try again if I was in that area.

Savage Lane Farm, and its proprietor William, are phenomenal. I rolled into the farm and William met me in the drive, along with his two super dogs. The grounds were clean and inviting. An outdoor shower was available, though I didn’t use it. The location made for great star gazing and the night was quiet.

Excellent communication, lovely property, horses and friendly dogs, all around ideal for tent camping. What made this stay stand out was the heart felt welcome…my kids were able to plant some seeds in the new garden and learn about beekeeping with our generous hosts. We hope to go back soon!

We just loved our time at Savage Lane! Such lovely and thoughtful hosts that were there if we needed them but gave us our privacy. It’s VERY remote and safe feeling, and if you have a pup they will surely love it!

William has a very special property and it was the perfect spot for us to camp for the night. He's incredibly welcoming and easy going and the land itself is beautiful. We loved getting to meet the farm dogs, Friday and Mister and see the horses too. It's pretty amazing that there's an ACTUAL BATHROOM offered to campers as well. I can't recommend William's farm enough.

We enjoyed camping at William’s farm despite the knarly weather! He made our stay excellent by making his empty AirBnB carport and bath/shower available to us. He stayed in contact with us and made sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend and would stay again.

I stayed at William's twice. The first time I tented, and he had a fire going for me at the campsite when I arrived, as it was a cold night. I got to meet him and his friendly dog Friday. The second time, because it was pouring rain, he let me stay in his guest house, which was very kind. It was cozy, and if I hadn't been spooked by critters on the roof, would have been a good night's sleep. This is a peaceful, out-of-the-way place for travelers and I recommend it.

William’s place exceeded expectations! William and his nephew , Travis are so welcoming and kind. His land is beautiful and peaceful. He was already having a fire so he left it going for us to enjoy for the evening which after a 7 hour drive was very nice. Bathroom was conveniently located and very clean. We really appreciated he allowed our dogs to be off leash. They LOVED running around and then hanging out by the campfire. There were 2 picnic tables next to the firepit. I was able to go for a run in the morning in the field next to his place. Great location and would definitely come back when traveling through. He’s working on getting bees, a greenhouse, planting more pecan trees and getting it back to a working farm. Definitely excited to visit again and see the new improvements.

This was such a delightful stay. The hospitality was out of this world. I have so many wonderful things to say, but I will say this. Make it a point to camp here. The farm is lovely. The hosts are the mostest. I came up this way to paddle at Chemin and will stay here again next time I come.

We loved camping on William land. The place is a perfect gateway and offers some very nice sunset and sunrise. Also William is very king, generous and accommodating. Be sure to stay there of you are in the area.

William is super sweet and has such a calming vibe. The farm is super pretty and the outdoor shower is a must (especially in this heat). Such a great little oasis in the middle of corn fields!

I had to change my arrival day ANd My arrival time twice. Julie was just so easy about it. She even suggested a different site that was better than I had selected. Her roam free dog (Quibly?) was so special. He even took my crazy dumb Labradors and my scrappy terrier on a customized hike. Always looking back to see if we were smart enough to follow him. I can’t say enough about this place! This is why I love being a Texan! 400 + acres of paradise and they’re willing to share some of the bounty? Couldn’t ask for more. 5 stars.

This is my favorite Hipcamp I have stayed at. The site is well maintained and is very convenient. I was able to pitch my tent right next to my vehicle. The houses on the property are beautiful as well. William is so kind and hospitable, and has provided a truly welcoming environment for those new to camping and the more experienced alike. This site feels very safe, even for a solo traveler such as myself. You have to try the outdoor shower, it is very refreshing after a day of travel.

I booked super last minute, and was going to arrive fairly late in the evening. William was MORE than accommodating and so kind. The property is beautiful!! We cannot wait to come back when it’s a little warmer. Lots of future memories will be made at Savage Lane!

Easy to find with the GPS directions. William guided me in and gave me a quick rundown on the surroundings. Nice fireplace and a big beautiful Pecan Tree. Water and bathroom is available but I didn’t use.
Two or three trains came through but it was kind of nice to hear them, and also nice to hear the coyotes. Good spot with a nice host. Thanks!!

We’ve stayed in 25+ hipcamps and never had an experience like we’ve had with Bill. He is so generous and welcoming with his space and with his kindness. We will be coming back to LA just to come here. I highly, highly recommend everyone to make their way here…you’ll leave a better person. Yeah, it was that great.
