Welcome to Red River Gorge Glamping Resort, a boutique woodland retreat tucked into 13 acres of forest, meadows, and starlit sky in the Appalachian foothills. Designed for slow mornings, campfire nights, and meaningful connection, our property blends rustic charm with thoughtful comforts across canvas bell tents, cozy cabins, and RV-friendly sites. Wake up to birdsong drifting through the trees, sip coffee while mist rises from the hills, and wander the network of footpaths that connect each lodging to the communal fire pit, outdoor gathering meadow, and our modern bathhouse with hot showers and clean restrooms. A brand-new shared hot tub sits in the center of the meadow—perfect for warming up after a winter hike or unwinding under a canopy of stars. Every space is crafted to feel inviting and soulful: warm lighting, soft bedding, rugs underfoot, heaters and electric blankets in the tents, and special touches like complimentary s’mores kits for campfire nights. Cabins offer added privacy, wooded decks, lofted sleeping spaces, and peaceful views of the surrounding hills and horse pastures. Located just 25 minutes from Natural Bridge State Park and minutes from iconic Red River Gorge trails, climbing crags, and scenic overlooks, this is an ideal basecamp for adventure—whether you’re here to hike, climb, explore, meditate, write, or simply breathe. At night, gather under the stars, soak in the hot tub, or settle into the quiet stillness that defines life in the Gorge. Surrounded by tall trees and an open meadow, Tent #1 sits on a wooden platform with enough space to unwind, stargaze, and sink into the slower rhythm of the Gorge. Inside, you’ll find one queen bed layered with blankets, a powerful electric space heater, and electric blankets to keep nights comfortable in cooler weather. Soft rugs, lantern lighting, and simple furnishings give the space a warm, grounded feel. It’s still camping—but with an extra layer of ease built in. Outside your tent, wander a short path to our communal fire ring in the center meadow. We provide a complimentary s’mores kit, and firewood bundles are available on request. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly—campers often chat around the fire, but there's plenty of room to keep to yourself if that’s your style. A modern bathhouse (“the Outhouse”) is just a short walk away and includes hot showers, real sinks, and clean private stalls. You won’t find luxury tile, but you will find warmth, privacy, and the comfort of a hot shower after a day on the trails. As part of The Retreat at High Rock, campers also have access to our brand-new communal hot tub—a welcome treat on chilly evenings or after long hikes. Soak beneath a clearing of stars and let the Appalachian quiet settle in. The property rests on 13 wooded acres, with simple footpaths that connect all campsites and cabins. Expect birdsong in the morning, fireflies in summer, crisp star views on clear nights, and the peaceful hum of nature around you. Experience glamping in the Red River Gorge on 13 acres! This cozy yurt (Yurt #4) features one queen beds and a mini fridge. Relax by the firepit and make s'mores and memories. The yurt is equipped with an oil filled radiant heater and an electric blanket for the bed. The heaters are efficient but do take longer to "feel the warmth" than a heater that blows hot air. Enjoy a large grassy area for games or stargazing. Part of a small yurt village—rent one or both for a group retreat. A full-service bath house with restrooms and showers is just a short walk away. Secluded yet convenient to RRG trails and attractions!

Glamping in a yurt

Heated Glamping Tent for 4, Hot Tub

This was my first glamping experience and I simply loved it! The yurts looked more magical on site and we had a cozy bonfire and toasted marshmallows by the fire. Me and my friends are glad we chickened out of camping and did glamping instead because it provided us more comfort and coziness than camping. We woke up to horses running around near the area and had another fire. Totally worth the trip!

As others have reported: Entrance road is quite rough and some additional signage is needed. Met new camp hosts and they are working on that.

The rutty driveway and unstable camping spot, resulting in the jacks sinking into the ground so we were unable to level the RV at first, necessitating having to park across 3 campsites, insufficient directions resulting in being unable to make turn onto property driveway and necessitating unhooking of towed vehicle, get us off to a bad start. Otherwise, the property was beautiful. Thank you to the neighbor who consented to us utilizing his property to more easily, safely, and without roadway issues.

The site is new and pretty rough but a good place if you just need to park. A little pricey for the restrooms being closed the hole time, the entire campground running on one star link (this did not work except for basic phone calls).

We loved our RV site at The Retreat, it was perfect for our family and pop up camper. The area was quiet and the restroom was nice and clean. Dave was helpful and quick to answer any questions. Overall great experience!

We loved staying at Dave’s land. The RV site had everything we needed for our stay. We arrived in our class A Winnebago 25’. Campers should be aware the roads leading to the campground are narrow, winding, steep and not well marked. The stone drive way into the camp is narrow, steep (downhill) and bumpy. Other than these few shortfalls, we had a good experience for your days. Thanks go to the owners for keeping the campgrounds clean, well laid out, and private.

I absolutely adored our yurt stay in the Gorge. The property is perfect, the yurt is spacious, has electricity, a small fridge, space heater if needed, a very comfy bed, and cute outdoor lights. The bathhouse is wonderful with a hot shower and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There are toilets on the end of each side of the bath house. There is one campfire for the whole yurt village which I loved! It gave us a real community feel and we got to know 6 other friends around the fire one night. There is cornhole, dart board and horseshoes as well. It would be helpful to know that the parking lot that you are supposed to use can only be accessed by the "road" to the right that doesn't look like a road after you turn off the main one. The other road takes you to the property as well and some of us parked there as well since all of our cars wouldn't have fit in the other lot. You will love this sweet place! I am inspired to buy some property and make my own yurt village now.

We stayed here this past weekend and enjoyed it! Quiet, out in the country but not too far. Scenic drive and nice large property with several options (we brought an overlanding trailer). Bathroom/Toilet rooms were clean and not far from our site. The ‘glamping’ area with tents looked to all be in good shape. We didn’t use any WiFi (why would you?) or the hot tub. The hosts Dave and Amy were nice and attentive to the property. No complaints from us! We will def rebook this on a return visit!

A great spot with RV electric, water and sewage, lots of privacy and 25 minutes from Natural Bridge State Park. The bathhouse was extremely nice and clean, with several private showers available. Will stay again when in the area!

Peaceful Pasture Cabin w/ Hot Tub

First, the good things ... the setting was pretty with views of a meadow with horses and deer. The air conditioner keeps the place cool. The trailer, however, is old and run-down. The pictures make it look much nicer than it is. The first day the bathroom door got jammed and we had to break the latch to open it. The stove doesn't work and they have a hot plate instead. The hot tub does not get above 90 degrees ... definitely not hot. Each morning we woke up to no power in the kitchen and had to reset the breaker. There is very little hot water for showers. The host promised to take care of these issues but never did. Also, Hipcamp allowed us to book for 3 nights. However, apparently, the place was already booked for the third night we wanted. The host asked us to cancel the booking and rebook for the 2 nights he actually had vacancies for. He refunded the original booking but Hipcanp will not refund their fees. We are out $100 for a stay that they messed up. I cannot recommend Hipcamp nor this trailer

Nice place to stay!

We only had one night here but we loved it! It was very clean. Very peaceful! We were the only ones there but if there are other people you have to share the fire pit. So if you dont like that, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, very nice place to stay! Nowhere for kids to play except the grass area around the yurts. Would be nice for a family to rent all the yurts and have the place to yourself. There are 5 all together if I remember correctly. One thing I would say is dont go by the coordinates it says . Use the actual address it gives you. The coordinates stop in the middle of the road and you still have approximately 3 miles to go.

ROUGH CREEKSIDE HOUSE W/HOT TUB

My girlfriend and I loved our long weekend stay at the Rough Creek Bunkhouse. Amanda, David and our hosts all made sure that we had exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay. If you just click the address listed on Hipcamp it is roughly 1/2 mile off from the actual location. I recommend entering the actual address into your maps app. The Retreat is tucked back off of High Rock Rd and can be easily missed especially if you are arriving later in the evening with low visibility. Despite being called the Bunkhouse, we assumed that there would be at least one bed that is not a bunk bed. That is not the case. There are only two beds both of which are bunk beds. I would recommend adding sleeping arrangements for adults who do not wish to sleep in a bunk bed. The property owners were in the process of transitioning to new ownership and were still working on unboxing supplies. The cabin did not have a grill or firepit for our use which was disappointing. I am hoping that the new owners will add these things for future guests to enjoy. Overall the cabin and property was exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway. I would absolutely go back to the Retreat at High Rock for another stay.

SKYBRIDGE COUPLES CABIN

Directions per the address were wrong, deck was covered in debris, hot tub needed water and had to wait 30+ min to gain access to the property. Borderline harassed by the owner / host when I didn't reply as to whether I had checked out from the property. ( This was not my responsibilities as the time for check out was posted in the agreement and I also swept the deck myself) Over all other than the way the host handled things possibly as a new hosting customer the property was nice inside and aside from the technical issues it was a desirable location and site!
