Possum Ridge Ranch

Liz is simply fantastic! The bath houses are very clean and well stocked. Staying here is like staying at a 5 star hotel, only it’s outside where we campers want to be. It’s an absolute must.

Camping at Oat Ridge

Possum Ridge Ranch is amazing. We camped at Oak Ridge and loved the site. We also explored a bit and walked down to Little Falls which was beautiful. Liz was very nice. The bath houses are clean and a nice surprise while camping. Would definitely recommend and camp here again.

Hemlock Holler

Liz is an amazing host. She came out to visit us and answered all of our questions. The space was a perfect spot for our hammocks. It is quiet and peaceful. There is firewood on site to purchase. The area is level and easy to traverse. We would love to go back and visit Liz. This is a must for anyone looking for a quiet getaway

Whiskey Ridge

My family and I loved this area for camping. It’s a beautiful property with some hiking trails if you love nature. I liked how spread out the campsites were, especially with having kids. Liz was a good host. She was very friendly and replied quickly to any messages. I liked the community area she had and the bath houses were nice. I will definitely be planning another trip out that way again.

We had an incredible time staying on this property on the Peachtree lot. Liz is an amazing host! She couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. She has the cleanest and homeiest feeling bath houses we've ever used at a campsite. There is even a little community hangout area with vending machines, a microwave, coffee, ice bags, a foosball table, and some other little conveniences. As for getting to the ranch, it was straightforward. Google brought us right to her road and following her directions took us right to our lot with no issues. They have nice signs guiding you all along the way and everything's easy to make out. The drive itself is absolutely gorgeous out to her place and the ranch itself is peaceful and full of unexpected surprises. Liz told us about lots of places and things we could explore on the ranch and she also mentioned Hell's hole. If you are up to the challenge, take the hike down hell's hole and see if you can make it down to the river. It's unbelievable what some people have right in their backyard, and the fact that Liz shares it with us is such an awesome gift. I brought my 8-month-old puppy along and he had the time of his life chasing and sniffing everything he could out on her property. We will definitely be back sometime to check out more of the Red River gorge area and more of the possum ridge ranch itself. Plus it's just beautiful driving through that area. Thanks Liz!!

Camping Sunset Ridge October

Possum Ridge Ranch was even better than advertised! Liz was a great host. There was a central bath house and community center was awesome! Have stayed at plenty of hip camps but this one by far was the best. Lots of trails to see, beautiful views, clean as can get, and worth every minute! We will be back.

Hemlock Holler

I stayed at Hemlock holler. This is my second Time staying at this place I always go here when I’m climbing at the red River Gorge. It’s about a hour drive but well worth it. They keep the facilities incredibly clean. Amazing showers and super convenient fridge and water and microwave available. Love this place and we’ll be coming back for many years to come. I’ve only seen one of the waterfalls so far, but would love to come back and see the other two.

Bowman Cabin

I love the bowman cabin it was extremely cozy and felt like home. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Definitely recommend going to the water falls total worth the hike. I would love to come back again soon!

Loved tent camping at Oak Ridge! Entire property was beautiful and well maintained, with great hosts. Hosts came to the plot to greet us and gave very helpful information about trails and how to get around! Bathrooms were super clean and stocked and trails were great! Definitely would come back.

Sunrise Hideaway

As a solo female camper I felt 100% safe here. The hosts are way cool! Gorgeous property, very spacious, accommodates a variety of tastes from quiet solo to fun groups. The "fun barn" has games, a kitchen, music and even a claw machine (don't try for the stuffed turtle). Great trails and the friendliest ducks ever. I'm going back! Oh yeah - as mentioned in the listing it's best to get there before sundown, the roads are ridge/hollow twisty without lights. Signage at the ranch is great. Truly a special place.

Perfect star gazing

Absolutely perfect! Found this Hipcamp after looking through a dark sky map trying to find a good spot to watch a meteor shower that wasn’t far from Lexington. The hilltop was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more! Liz came and introduced herself and showed us how to hike down to a waterfall on their property and it was well worth it. The showers are more than you can ask for while tent camping and the rest of the property was extremely well taken care of! Highly recommended!

The best all around experience you could ask for! We had essentially a whole hilltop to ourselves, with beautiful views of both the sunset and sunrise. The grass was cut, area clean, and the closest neighbors were about a 1/4 mile away - which allowed our dog to have a great and unbothered time. The water spicket right in the campsite was a bonus! Not far up the road were full bathrooms with showers, and a very nice common area with games and amenities for anyone. The hosts were communicative and friendly, it’s very clear they take care of this place. A great time and we hope to return!

My family loved camping at the Peachtree site. It felt secluded even though we were just down the path from the amenities that families need. The views on the farm were breathtaking and we enjoyed the feeling of privacy we had at our site. The kids are already talking about coming back.

I can't stop bragging about My awesome weekend stay at the Possum Ridge Ranch. Where do I begin?🤔 when I arrived I was excited and impressed with the natural beauty of this vast and abundant 375 acre land. I have to admit I was taken back and a little overwhelmed by the camping possibilities. On arrival we were met by the hosts Liz and Mark. They showed us around and said we could camp anywhere on the property they were very helpful in narrowing it down to a very private and spacious camp spot. A perfect spot right next to a trickling stream and a short distance to all 3 of the waterfalls. We didn't see another human, except the hosts, all weekend. There are hiking trails throughout the property and as I mentioned 3 refreshing waterfalls. After a day of heavy duty hiking I showered in the waterfall. The water is crystal clear and I never felt so clean! We hiked up to the perfect spot for a view of the breathing taking unset. And in the early morning we witnessed an awesome sunrise. Liz and Mark are laid back and down to earth good people. I felt very free and safe on their land. There is a central bathhouse with a flush toilet and shower. I was impressed with how clean everything is. In addition to camping there are also accommodations of cabins on the property. There is also a central gathering spot with complimentary coffee, vending machines, and a real dart board!! I have to say, Possum Ridge Ranch is my favorite hipcamp!! A real utopian paradise! Hike In Site

What an Amazing property! This was beyond my expectations. We didn't even need to leave the property to hike and swim!! Took a nice soak under the cool waterfall which was about 50 ft away from our site!! We watched the sunrise and set with amazing views of both!!! Heaven on Earth litterally! Very hard to leave. Liz and Mark took great care of us and were the best couple!!! I can't wait to get back there!!!!

I had a great experience staying at the Sunset Ridge site. Liz was fantastic and very responsive when I got a little turned around looking for the site (my own poor sense of direction was out in full force that day). The views were absolutely stunning and even though the weather wasn't the best the whole time, my dog and I got to get out and check out some of the trails and sights on the property. Gorgeous views, peace and quiet, and plenty of privacy made the stay amazing. While I did have to cut out a day early due to my old dog being quite over the experience, I plan to make my way back down to enjoy more time to unwind and relax. I truly can't recommend Possum Ridge Ranch enough.
