Feel refreshed when you stay in this rustic gem. You'll find yourself nestled next to the woods on the ridge of our beautiful family farm. This listing features a newly converted pop up camper cabin. Truly a one of a kind. Enjoy over 200 acres by hiking our hills, pond fishing, swimming the creek, grilling some steaks all while sipping on some fine Bourbon.  Everything has been updated with all the modern amenities while still providing that rustic appeal you've been looking to experience. I personally service the bathroom area everyday to make sure things stay nice and clean for you during your stay.  Your cabin is capable of sleeping up to four people. There's two cozy full size beds, with one bed slightly smaller than the other. The cabin itself does not have an attached bathroom. However, I've custom-built a shower and bathroom that sits conveniently located in our barn right next to where you'll be parking your vehicle. The barn and restroom area is a short walk to the cabin, not more than 30 yards. I personally service the bathroom area every day to make sure things stay nice and clean for you during your stay. Picture a campground with a bath house. That's what we've built for you to enjoy while staying in your camper cabin. You'll enjoy your privacy and will love the open feel the shower provides! You'll also enjoy a sitting area inside the cabin that features a 32" smart TV. Wifi is provided while staying in the cabin, and you can watch the provided channels or connect to your own streaming platforms to enjoy your favorite shows.  The sitting area in the cabin also consists of two tables for you to use while eating or even playing a game of cards.  Also included with your stay is an outdoor dining area I've built in the barn. I've called it the Barnhouse Pantry. The pantry sits next to your bathroom in the barn. I have snacks, drinks, ice, and firewood available in case you're in need. You'll also have a dedicated refrigerator  in the pantry for you to use during your stay. This particular area is open to other guests who are also staying in other cabins on the property but mostly geared for your personal use.

Soak up the vintage and rustic charm of this fully renovated shipping container cabin. Nestled next to the woods, you'll enjoy a private stay on the ridge of our rolling hills. Explore over 200 acres, go fishing in the creek, throw some steaks on the grill, sit back and relax while sipping on some local Kentucky bourbon. This is a custom built container cabin with treasures used from all over our farm. Our latest addition is a brand new memory foam mattress! The space The shipping container used is a vintage container from the early 80's. Everything used to build the container came from our farm. The wood I used inside came from an old barn that once housed Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels! Buffalo Trace is only a 45 minute drive from our property. This container cabin is truly one of a kind. Enjoy! Guest access We have 200 acres of land to you can explore while staying with us. We have a pond and a large creek that runs right through the property. We have beautiful rolling hills that make for a great landscape to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. We have distilleries, lakes, wineries, restaurants, convenience stores and just about anything else you'll need close by. A detailed ledger of activities and amenities will be provided upon arrival. Other things to note Just to note! The cabin is capable of sleeping up to 4 people. You'll notice in the pictures that when the main bed is folded down, the couch under the main bed is also a space available to sleep. It's a little tight, but im a big guy, and im able to make it work for myself. You'll also notice the upper bed over the main bed. The upper bed is a little smaller than the main bed, but it's more than enough for 2 people to cozy up to one another. I just wanted to share all the options for sleeping arrangements so you can see for yourself whether our accommodation will work for you. All in all, this is an amazing little cabin with a ton of charm. You'll enjoy your stay for sure!

Josh’s land had absolutely beautiful views, and was so well maintained! There were great amenities available that helped our whole group to be comfortable. We would love to come again!

The site was open with a beautiful view and felt very private. It was well taken care of with a nice electric hook up, bench, fire ring, and picnic bench. There was cut firewood ready. My Subaru Forester made it easily down the path. We had both a spot for shade and sun and we saw a beautiful sunrise/sunset. The stars were incredible. It was really quiet and peaceful with the exception of a barking neighbor dog (obviously not the fault of Handyland). There is a little pond and a gorgeous creek. It’s a 10 min walk maybe, but I was walking with a toddler. I brought a fishing pole and caught some creek chubs. The place is truly lovely. Josh was quick to reply and unobtrusive. My dog was able to run off leash the whole time. At the entrance there is bottled water for sale at $1 each. There’s well water I think but I couldn’t figure it out. I might have missed some directions there. There is also a microwave and little cook top and fridge. I believe that’s available to all the campers. We didn’t end up using it. There’s a little checkboard and table and it’s a cozy little spot if you want to interact with others at all. I’d suggest making it clear that you need your own water unless you want to buy. That’s probably my only recommendation and they may have been my fault. Otherwise, definitely going to be back. No tick or mosquito issues either. Thanks again Josh!

We loved camping at this site! I was initially concerned with height and the ability to get a 50 ft combined rig back there. However, everything was super spacious and will maintained. It's a fantastic site. Absolutely beautiful, words do not do it justice. This is probably our favorite of all the Hipcamp sites we have stayed in. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing time hiking the trails and staying overnight in the cabin. It was very cozy with us and our pups, everything was clean and exactly as described. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and the dogs absolutely loved it!! We would LOVE to come back. Thank you for having us.

Great place for tent camping and plenty of room to roam. The electric outlet beside our campsite was a nice feature. We enjoyed the hot showers and restroom inside the barn. We already want to camp again here! We ate at Sue’s Lakeside restaurant for breakfast both mornings and highly recommend that too, it’s near the campsites.

We found our new favorite spot! We tent camped in the RV/tent site. It had a beautiful view, was open with lots of places to put a tent, had a wood bench in addition to the picnic table and fire ring, and there was a small clump of trees in the middle so we moved our chairs with the sun to always have shade. The stargazing was awesome. Because it is up on a hill, there was a nice breeze (always good for hot weather camping). It was very private, away from the container/cabin sites. There is an actual flush toilet, sink with running water and hand soap and paper towels near the container/cabin sites. Our dog loves to play in creeks, and this was a nice one. Lastly, the hosts were great - helpful, friendly, and informative while also giving us space. Oh, and there didn’t seem to be too much road traffic noise. We are definitely going back!

We camped with our pop up here and it was perfect! Very clear and flat spot. We needed a short getaway, and handyland was the perfect spot to enjoy some nature and let our dogs run. The walk to the creek was clear and an easy path. The bathroom was also a nice touch as a lot of sites just have a portapotty, it is a little bit of walk to get there but worth it for a shower and a real toilet. Didn’t know Kentucky had some beauty to offer, would love to come back.

I absolutely loved Handyland. Josh was a great host. The view at the campsite is breathtaking. I came for a quick stopover on my way north -- I just wish I could have stayed longer.

Rustic Camper Cabin - Near Ark
Our host, Josh Handy, was terrific. The location is a renovated pop up camper which he fashioned with wood from his grandfather’s 200 year old barn when it was torn down. It has an open barn about 30 yards away with very nice restroom facilities, H/C shower and an outdoor kitchen. The land itself comprises part of a farm with both open meadow and wooded trails. Perfect for travelers and dogs. Highly recommended!

Our family loved tent camping on Josh’s land. It was so beautiful, and the spot was peaceful and secluded. We took a walk down to the creek and skipped rocks, and loved hearing and seeing all the birds. The toilet and shower were greatly appreciated as well. Josh was kind and made sure the path to our site was well marked. I’m grateful we were able to experience Kentucky by camping here, and would love to come back.

I loved the whole cabin set-up. The farm is easy to find which is great. The land is gorgeous beyond reason. The cabin itself was well situated on beautiful land with tons to do with outdoor activities. The beds are comfy and the whole cabin shows the love the Handys have had for their property. We arrived late which was a bummer because Josh has an amazing setup! He had a place for us to sit and eat along with grill. He had a fire pit with a bench. It was the perfect setup! The bathroom and shower were super clean! After we arrived we got setup with our tent and we just stared out the ceiling because the stars were breathtaking. Did I mention my dog loved it there too? Because he did! I walked him in the morning and he loved every bit of it. 10/10 highly recommend!

Beautiful and open space foe camping. The views, weather and property where better than expected. My boys loved the creek! We typically like to not stay in the same place twice but this might be an exception. Keep in mind this is tick country so come prepared and check often.

Nice storage container house. Had everything you would need. Shower was fantastic. We hiked to the creek and explored. We fished in the small pond for some small fish. The games around the storage containers were fun for kids. Great place to visit.

This is a fantastic spot! This was our first time using Hipcamp, and it was such a great experience. Josh was a wonderful host- super friendly, easy to communicate with, and made sure we had everything we needed to get settled in! My dog also had an absolute blast running around and swimming in the nearby creek. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We had such a relaxing stay at Handyland. The cabin was so cozy and the stars were absolutely stunning at night. We walked the trails and they are beautiful. Don’t miss them. Josh made sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was able to get some exercise and explore. We all left happy campers and would definitely stay again.

We loved our experience here! Josh was very communicative and helpful any time I had questions. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We stayed on a very cold night and enjoyed using the wood burning stove for heat. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed.

This place was absolutely amazing! We loved it so much we tried to extend our stay, but it was booked. So we ended up booking Josh's other cabin instead 😂 it was great as well. I really love the little kitchen and bathroom in this cabin. We were traveling with young children and it made all the difference! Plus it was such a unique build that it made it a vacation in and of itself to stay at Handyland! 10 out of 10 would recommend?
