The project faced a one-year delay due to a wetland area roughly the size of an average house. Today, the lake boasts a permanent pool of 43 acres, which expands to nearly 80 acres during wet seasons. Nestled on 160 acres of land in the picturesque Flint Hills of southeast Kansas, Lake Frances is a perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Since being stocked with finger-length fish in 1998, the lake has become a popular fishing destination. Anglers can catch impressive Bass measuring up to 22 inches, Catfish weighing as much as 14 pounds, and Crappie reaching 1.5 pounds.
