Nature relaxation and quality time

My family and I were looking for an affordable place with wilderness vibes for a spontaneous staycation, and Oaks RV Park felt like a great fit. We came for relaxation, fresh air, and quality time not a fancy RV resort so the lack of updated amenities didn’t bother us.
There is about a 5-mile dirt road leading to the park (if I’m not mistaken), and it’s pretty bumpy, so you’ll want to drive slowly. That said, we expected to be in the middle of nowhere, lol, and it didn’t bother us at all.
I liked that the park has a front gate with a code, which made us feel secure. For Uber or Instacart deliveries, there’s a basket at the gate where drivers can leave your items, which was very convenient. There’s also a rec center that’s a decent size. We enjoyed the nest area the most—it has a deck right next to the parking space. It could use some work, but again, we weren’t there for luxury, just nature and quality time.
The staff truly stood out. Todd was amazing he brought us a picnic table and even gave us bottled water when we needed it. Tyler also personally invited us to a potluck, which showed how welcoming the community is.
There are some full-time residents, but they didn’t bother us at all. Some areas are a bit cluttered, and a few older RVs can be an eyesore, but for what it is, it was fine. We saw about 3-4 cats but we shew them away … it wasn’t infested .
I was glad to hear that they were going to do some upgrades in the near future. We will definitely be coming back .

The host who met us was very accomodating and once we got to the site, it was nice. The campground is quiet and remote. We were disappointed that the bathrooms/ showers were not operable due to septic/plumbing issues and since our RV is not equipped. There are several permanent residents as well as a few open RV sites. I reallt enjoyed the proximinity to the Boy Scout park where we took a 10 mile bike ride. Overall, friendly staff and residents. Peaceful surroyndings.

Camping in the middle of nowhere

Its location is in the middle of a forest, the road to get there is ong unpaved but doable, very slow, the area is not that well kept but for the price is okey. Very friendly staff, beautifull oak trees, peacefull vibes, dog friendly. I would recommend for a getaway to read a book, connect with nature. Inside the location there is just a small walk around the area, tou need a car to go hiking in the nearest park. Overall satisfied!!! I saw a lot of 4track, I guess if you have one you can have fun exploring.

Making much needed improvements. The ladies shower and restrooms are remodeled. Definitely need hooks and tp holder. My husband looked at the mens area and refused to us them. There are a few buildings and RV add-ons that need to be torn down. They are eye sores on this beautiful property. This is an area where people LIVE. It does junk the beauty of the property up. It was a holiday weekend so the trash can by our site was overflowing. The nicely redone bathroom had no toilet paper, wasn't cleaned and sink clogged for most of the days we were there. Laundry room was out of order... Hot tub broken and pool cloudy. This could be a beautiful area but you would have to get Slim Shady and crew out of there. Some sort of regulatation of the amount of junk and add-ons people have. If this was not available for visitors to rent and classified as a trailer park the junk and rude behavior I guess would be okay. It was quite until Slim Shady was yelling at his family and the old man on the other side was yelling at the poor young lady in his presence. The road on the way in is not as bad as people stated maybe it was fixed. Bumpy but drivable. Dogs are welcome and everyone has them and they let you know they are there. Cats are all over they didn't bother to much helps keeps rats away.

09) Pull Through Site
The site looked great online. Pictures did not match what the campground looks like. It is difficult to get to (rough, long dirt road) and not well maintained. There is no pool and the pond is not swimmable or fishable. The manager is nice and even offered to back up our camper for us because the pull through site we reserved was no longer available. He did wind up giving us another pull through site right next to an abandoned building that needs to be demolished.

2 mile dirt road was a nightmare, if you have a big rig don't screw you're rig up.
Manager took us to our sight on golf cart he was friendly we stayed on a pond that was scummed over, camper across from us played loud music till about 2 am.
All the out buildings where in very run down condition we paid for for 2 nights only stayed 1

Very quiet campground with nice little walking loop. Currently upgrading bathrooms and shower house but the one that was open was very clean. No picnic table but we made due with tailgate for outside cooking. Nice relaxing weekend.

This was our very first RV adventure and it didn’t disappoint! We were looking for rural, natural Florida … off the beaten path and the Oaks was it! We were welcomed on arrival, escorted to our site, given an overview of the place, along with a map and other useful info. There’s an abundance of wildlife and beautiful live oaks, pine, and other native vegetation.

Had a great time at River Oaks. A little off the beaten path but well worth it. Tyler was awesome and had a fire going every night at 6.

They had all the hookups we needed. The hosts were very hospitable and took the time to help us set up. The site was what we expected. It had beautiful trees and I enjoyed seeing some butterflies outside the window.

Lots of trees& quiet. Lots of space between sites.
New owners are really making lots of improvements & we plan to return sometime in the future to see what they’ve done. Tyler was very friendly, helpful & nice. Always had a nice fire by 6 every evening.
