Neal’s Nest

We always enjoy staying at this Hipcamp site. Tina has set up such a warm and welcoming campsite with improvement since we were here last year. We returned due to it being very convenient to go down to Cedar Key for dinner and a beautiful spot on property for stargazing. We will definitely return again in the future.

We loved it at Nealsnest! It wasn't a planned stop but glad we did. Stayed 3 nights in our RV. Quiet and peaceful with tall trees all around the property. Less than 30 min to Cedar Key and beach. I had to work, so set up my laptop on a nearby picnic table for a few hours. Also love the astroturf next to the RV site and badminton court. It may not be natural, but it feels great stepping out onto it and is visually appealing amongst the dry sandy ground. Only a handful of sites, but plans for more are in the works. It's a perfect setting. Owners live on the adjacent property. Tina was very responsive and greeted us when we arrived and later checked in to make sure all was good. Also can't beat the price. I'm sure it won't stay that way as they expand and become more well-known. Highly recommend!

This is a lovely camp with great amenities located close to downtown area. The site owner was readily available for any questions or concerns, although there weren’t any at all. We will most definitely stay here again. Thank you, Tina!!

Quiet and Peaceful

The campsite was very clean and I loved the full hook ups. It was a very quiet and peaceful place. I enjoyed the low key atmosphere and the beautiful property. It was also about 11 minutes from the city of Chiefland.

The land is spacious, private and welcoming. It is kept well. What impressed me the most are the plants around the perimeter. The owners planted fruit trees. That requires a complex set of skills including construction, farming and knowledge. We loved playing badminton. ~ Joe and Re

Great little camping spot.

We stayed at Neal's Nest twice in the past month, as a stopover on our way to visit family in Georgia. Because we were several family members traveling together, we rented an RV site as well as the little cottage. We felt like our host, Tina, has created a really lovely little camping spot. It's quiet, clean, and she's added so many things to make one's stay enjoyable - from the sensor light that comes on at the gate, to the inviting fire pit and grill area, to the volleyball net. The cottage was probably a shed in a former life, but she has really made it a guest cottage. The bed was comfortable, the shower was large and had plenty of hot water, and everything was spotless. We enjoyed having a peaceful cup of coffee on the cottage porch in the morning. We'll definitely be staying here again.

I would recommend the host converse with a few guests to get the most valuable feedback. While we are used to contactless check-in we felt somewhat less than welcomed. We feel like feedback is best delivered interactively and privately rather than public forums.

Everything was perfect for my country escape . Visited Cedar Key , Suwannee and Santa Fe rivers area my favorite getaway . I definitely will return.

Nice quiet country camping spot. Great area for star gazing and very convenient to shopping. We loved how close it was to Cedar Key and enjoyed driving down there for dinner. Would definitely stay here again.

A great get away in Florida

Was a great stay for a few nights! We felt safe in their gated yard and they had TONS of yard for the doggos to play and run around freely. They include a few fun things to do such as a volleyball net, grilling equipment, gas full hookups for RVs and we felt welcome right away so we decided to extend our stay. There is a 31 mile trail to run on and walk the dogs about 20 mins away. The only downfall was there is so many flies all over and maybe it’s just a Florida thing but we didn’t let it ruin our stay ! 9:/10 recommend!

It was a cute little setup! AC worked well and neighbors were nice. Only thing is we had to kill some brown widow spiders that were on the porch and close to the chairs under the table. I also paid for two bundles of firewood and never got them.

Camping with peace in mind.

We were searching for just SIMPLE. Neals Nest and Tina and her husband provided that. It was simple and provided that quietness we were looking for. We met other campers everyone was friendly. Florida has a leash law for pets but everyone we met had pets and were respectful of dogs needing to be dogs and not be on a leash. We met with Tina and they have a awesome Pit bull who has an awesome friendly disposition my 6 lb Chihuahua fell in love with him. They became best friends, this place is beautiful, simple, and peaceful. It offers what as a first time camper in many years would look for. I highly recommend Neals. An RV'er who is a contractor has an RV there, they showed up an the community camp fire and introduced themselves they had 2 beautiful great danes and a gorgeous Chihuahua and were respectful to ask if we minded if their dogs were able to run around... obviously as dog owners we said we absolutely didn't mind... Just a great weekend.

Neal’s Cozy Camper

Amazing character! Had a long journey for a week traveling. It was late in the afternoon when I made contact. I was welcomed warmly on such short notice. Granted there was a previous HC that checked out just that afternoon. I explained how far away I was and asked if it were at all possible just to sleep there. I didn’t care about any other amenities come near midnight. The fact that I entered the glamper and it had good A/C, comfortable bed, and a good cold shower I was in a great position. I woke up feeling a calm knowing that that would be the day got back home. Really helped clear my head in a peaceful quite private area. That simple gesture from her will always be one of my favorite times crossing paths with a complete stranger. Hopefully each of you will be able to cross paths with Tina.

Hidden Gem in Chiefland, Fl

Loved the cabin we stayed in at Neal’s Nest. The property layout was perfect. It was quiet and cozy for my entire family. Neal’s Nest is a hidden gem that is tucked away and private but close to town. It’s super quiet and host is very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. I noticed the constellations our first night there so I shared it withTina when I saw her the following day. She shared some historical data about the town which was an added touch. Moreover we were able to visit several local eateries and two springs. The best thing for my family is that Neal’s Nest is pet friendly. We travel everywhere with our dogs and Neal’s Nest is accommodating to our furry friends. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations. We will be back.

Long trip home

We stayed in the cabin and it was so perfect for 2 people and a dog! Well stocked, beautifully decorated and very comfy. We had coffee on the porch in the morning. I would highly recommend! I think the only thing that stood out to me is that the pillows were a bit flat so I just grabbed one of my own to throw on (a personal preference) and the showers water pressure was on the light side. The shower got super hot though, which I love. This cabin is perfect for those who need a rest from traveling or want a weekend trip. It's only 30 mins to Cedar Key

Neal’s Cozy Camper

Beautiful property with tall trees only a few miles from a variety of food. Today my family and I checked out Manatee Springs and caught a glimpse of 8 giant manatee in the clear springs. This is an awesome and peaceful escape from the city life! 🙌🏻 Great host and highly recommended this hipcamp adventure!
