I genuinely LOVED this tent site, it was so cute. it had picnic tables and cozy a fire pit with a lovely hammock. The hosts were so nice and helpful when it came to getting our kayaks in and out of the water

I loved the A-frame cabin, it was cute and cozy. it had everything you need for a good stay like plates, cups, and ice maker, a roku tv, and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom and outdoor shower were so nicely decorated. The plants all around the porch are a nice touch too. the only down side i can think of is the huge cockroaches i saw in the morning, but outside of those it was lovely

John & Pattie were such lovely hosts. Their property and cabin reflect such a carefully curated & laid back atmosphere. Being so close to the water, having the "tree house" landing for the kids to play on & all the swings & other outdoor areas was wonderful! My husband & I can't wait to go back!

We had such an amazing stay here — we didn’t want to leave! Property offers a perfect mix of options, whether you’re tent camping, traveling in a van, or looking for a cozy cabin stay. Every site is thoughtfully set up with electricity, tables, chairs, fire pits, and even hammocks — and there are hammocks all around the property, making it incredibly easy to relax anywhere you go. What really stood out was how peaceful and private everything felt. Sites are spacious, shaded, and very quiet, creating a safe and comfortable environment to truly unwind. John, the owner, is incredibly kind and accommodating. He’s easy to talk to and genuinely cares about making sure guests have a great experience. Other campers were just as wonderful — friendly, helpful, and great to connect with. Location along Shell Creek is absolutely beautiful, kayak or fish right on the water or simply sit on the deck overlooking the creek and relax. Amenities are a huge bonus-this isn’t your typical campground setup. Bathroom has a regular toilet with hot/cold water (not outhouse or compost toilet) & there’s a comfortable outdoor shower with hot/cold water-best of both nature and comfort. Families will love trampoline for kids, and everyone will appreciate camp is 10 minutes to a general store for quick supplies, and 20 minutes from main attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back. Thank you for a great weekend!

The property was beautiful and spacious. John was an amazing host! We had a spot by the water which was amazing, and it was also close to the bathroom and HOT SHOWER!! The kayak/paddle board rentals is a nice touch. This kids enjoyed bouncing on the trampoline, laying the hammocks, and climbing up to the platform in the trees. We will definitely be coming back and cannot recommend enough!

This was the perfect weekend getaway for us. The campsite was spacious and right on the water! Loved that they had kayaks available for rent and firewood as well. We will definitely be back!

Easy to get to, yet secluded spot.

This was a great spot for a solo car camping experience on the full moon. It's a secluded little quiet jungle nook with easy access to a real indoor toilet and sink! It's also a short walk to water views. John and his family are lovely folks. I read in the hammock and meditated by the fire. My only regret was not bringing mosquito protection. I ended up with about 15 large, itchy bites. I would happily stay here again.

A-Frame Camping with our pet

We had the chance to stay at the A-frame Cabin which has all you need, including it's own bathroom and shower. The campgrounds are secluded but not so much that, if you need to go into the city it will only take you about 15-20 mins to get to the grocery stores. There are great restaurants in downtown Punta Gorda. John & Patty are great hosts and they are very welcoming of pets, which is very important to us. We will definitely be staying again.

Camping at the creek!

Had such a wonderful weekend here with mu four year old son. The camp site was awesome - we went for walks, kayaked, and swam in the creek. There were other kids around and my son had such fun playing with them - especially jumping into the creek and swimming. The hosts John and his son John, were fantastic.

The camp site was extremely well groomed. New umbrellas for both picnic tables. A new hammock next the creek. The host was very nice. We did not bring kayaks (they had some for rent). Next time we will bring our kayaks to explore. We definitely recommen.

John’s place was absolutely amazing. Private little spots all around, the water was peaceful. There was a play area if you have kids, bathrooms were clean, the area was clean, not too far from major grocery stores, restaurants, and beaches. There were paddle boards and kayaks available to rent. John was very nice. I would 10/10 recommend and looking forward to visiting again.

The Hideaway is excellent

This is the best hipcamp we have stayed at. Lots of places to walk our dogs on the property. The hosts were welcoming and when we asked for firewood they had some for us within 20 minutes. Just an excellent stay . We look forward to another trip down to Florida from Virginia.

A camping gem

We had a good time staying at J & P Creekside retreat. The property is lovely and beautiful. The kids loved the trampoline and many swings and hammocks. We couldn't go on the water because of the cold, about 40 to 50°F, but we loved sitting by the water and watching the wildlife. Our ac/heater unit was too big for the cord so we had to bundle up a bit more overnight. John, the host, was super kind in offering us blankets to keep warm. Overall, the trip was wonderful despite a late cold front! We wish we could have stayed longer. This one is a gem!

Peaceful, beautiful and private

We loved our stay in the A frame. The setting is beautiful and private and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the ice machine, fairy lights and relaxing hammocks. Also the large bed was so comfortable, we slept really well. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend John's place.

Perfect piece of property to get away for the weekend. Love having access to the creek and all the cool stuff at the community area. Plenty of privacy at the camp site and the family was super nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back for sure. My kids loved the trampoline

Really enjoyed the nature here. 10/10. Can't wait to come back with friends to enjoy the bar and kayaks :) electric, a flushing toilet, and a warm shower are HUGE when sleeping in a tent. THANK YOU!!

The creekside retreat has a refreshing and homemade feeling to it. If you’re a veteran of the Florida State Park camps you’ll know they tend to have a clean, organized and generic feel. This place has been built to give a character and life that is truly unique. I recommend it!

Stayed here with my six tear old son. A beautiful camp site, private, and a 30 second walk to the toilet & shower, and to the creek too! So beautiful. Plenty of trees to provide shade. John, the host, was so friendly and a wonderful person.

The Hideaway was awesome. Stayed here with my six year old son. Very private, which i enjoyed. A 30 second walk to shower and toilet - and to the creek (which is beautiful). Lovely trees which provided shade. John, the host, was fantastic. Will be back!
