"It's Real Rustic Out Here" This is NOT Glamping, this is the Real Rustic Camping Experience :) Stay in one of our homestead cabins outfitted to give you a taste of the past, or try your luck in the Sasquatch forest in our hanging tent and catch a glimpse of big foot or pitch your tent and enjoy your time with fresh running water from surrounding springs and a glowing campfire. Saddle up to the “Bunkhouse” and “Campfire”, open 10am-10pm daily. Snacks, a zero-proof saloon, wood-fired hot tub; sauna, games and laundry. Pull up a wood bench and stay a while. ***Yakalo Ranch (outfitter private land) is currently undergoing site improvements with Pikes National Forest, however we will accept reservations on a case by case basis.*** Yakalo Ranch a Hike-in, Hike-out experience focused on the core principle of "Leave No Trace" to "Pack it in, Pack it out", hence our motto: "It's Real Rustic Out Here" Beautiful Mountain Ranges, Natural Springs and Creeks, Amazing Rock Formations, Endless Trails, Historic Wells and Precious Metal Mines, Animal sittings (Yakalos, Elk, Deer, Black bears, Turkey, squires, chickens, Peacocks, Horses, and an occasional Moose) Exploring, and tons of Recreational Activities, wild strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and figs right at your fingertips. Our closest campsite to the parking lot, yet still Hidden on the banks of the Creek Guests will enjoy 1 acre to themselves. There are no hookups at this site, or potable water, however, you may pull from the river and natural springs on the property where filtering and boiling water is recommended. This site can fit a 12 man tent perfectly and an additional 2- 4 man tent quite cozily. Wild Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries grow during the spring and summer months on this site. Firewood is everywhere - No need to purchase.

Pipeline Camp

Hidden on the banks of the East Cheyenne Creek and along the historic Walter’s Well pipeline. Pipeline camp is nestled right up against the creek perfect for wading. Guests will enjoy 1/2 acre to themselves, please note, another campsite is visible across the river. There are no hookups at this site, or potable water, however you may pull from the river and natural springs on the property where filtering and boiling water is highly recommended. This site can fit a 4 man tent perfectly and a 6 man tent quite cozily.

South East of the property and down Sleeping giant trail you’ll cross the banks of the year round creek that originates from a natural spring! Perfect for wading and deeper into Yakalo Ranch, a 10 min hike from the parking lot and next to our “Stonehenge’s Table” Rock formations and group gathering place. There are no hookups at this site, or potable water, however you may pull from the creek where filtering and boiling water is recommended. Make note of the No trespassing areas. A recent spring was discovered at this camp!!!

The owner was amazingly accommodating and switched us to blueberry camp which was very accessible! We will definitely be making a tradition of returning to yakalo! Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive and get there while it’s light out, the drive is a bit scary when people are speeding down the mountain. She also has water filters to drink the fresh underground spring water! 10/10 camping experience

We had a wonderful time at the camp site ! The area was clean, quit, and well maintained. The creek near the camp site was very relaxing, we slept like hibernating bears. Angela responded quickly to our questions and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend this camp site. The site was a little slanted.

We really enjoyed our time here! There are two separate areas at the site, each with a fire ring a spot for a tent. We fit our large 8-person tent on one side so we could use the other for food, fire, and sitting. Shade was great, and the spot was private. It unfortunately rained for most of the time, but we got to visit a cantina up the road to get out for a bit.

Such a perfect spot for an introduction back into camping. Went in a group of 4, and nobody was on the other campsites. Super close to the parking lot with all the needed amenities. Will be back.

The area was beautiful and easy to get to. Pack correctly it's a little walk from the parking lot to the campsite not to bad though. Angela keeps it tidy and plenty of firewood if needed. Thank You Angela!

Really cool and beautiful spot, tucked back into the woods and the little stream running was such a beautiful background and our doggie loved drinking from it. I slept so well with that sound! One con, space is all on a pitch, our tent was at an angle. I don’t see how 8 people could fit in this spot.

Absolutely wonderful place to camp. It was enough just to sit and admire the beauty. Angela was super awesome too! She was such a caring host. If you’re looking for a hike-in spot on the side of a mountain, this is the spot you’re looking for.

It was a great spot for our get away. It was quiet and a pretty sweet spot for the whole family. The creek was great to play and rock hound in for kiddos. We enjoys a few nights hikes so my eldest kiddo could look for bigfoot. The spot was very spacious it allowed for our good size tent. The host was great and easy to deal with. Definitely will be booking another trip.

It was easy to find and the parking wasn’t bad. We stayed at the pipeline site and it was only about 300ft from the car. Once we set up camp we sat in the creek and just listened to the water run. It felt very private and peaceful. We did have a small issue with some trespassers but if you let Angela know right away she will take care of it. This place is amazing for sure and I love how close it is to the springs

Nice camp sites in the woods and very secluded, close to Colorado Springs! Perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Sites are right next to the creek so you hear the ambiance of water all night. These are hike in sites, but are just a few minutes hike into the woods from parking. These sites are still being worked on, and ours, called Pipeline, did not have a prepared tent pad. The ground was soft and just fine for us, although the tent site was pitched down towards to creek. Hopefully in the future the owners will level out a tent pad like the other sites had. There was plenty of pre-chopped firewood and a large fire ring with a fire extinguisher available at each site. All sites were well shaded. We had neighbors but couldn’t see or hear them. Highly recommend! We will be back later this summer.

Host was easy to work with. Location was beautiful, quiet mostly, with a running brook nearby. Birds in the trees all around. You can hear cars sometimes but not much especially when evening fell or early in the AM. Recommend slow driving up to the site and preferably an AWD. Cell signal was minimal. Watch the weather. A little bit of a hike to the actual site from parking spot.

This is a beautiful place to camp i only wish we would've had more time to explore. There are pack in and pack out spots and a few closer spots that you could camp out of your car at. Its being actively worked on and I can't wait to see what it looks like in the future considering how amazing it already is.
