Our little piece of heaven sits in the middle of the grandeur that is North Park, Colorado. We are totally surrounded by mountains, requiring the crossing of the "backbone" of the US, the mighty Continental Divide, to get here. Walden, home to about 500 people (1,200 in Jackson County!), is a special community inhabited by cowboys (and cowgirls), Forest Service and DNR employees, fly fishermen (and women), pioneers and rugged individualists. The "summer people" increase our population somewhat, as they flock to Jackson to escape the heat, crowds, noise and traffic. Tell someone you are headed to Walden, and most people will say, "I've never heard of it."  And that's why we like it here!
