We border a national forest where you can hike and just enjoy the outdoors. The Ceran Saint Vrain trailhead is less than one mile away and Brainard Lake is a short 20 minute drive. If you feel as you need to go to town, Boulder, Estes Park, and Nederland are all a 30 min drive. Away, yet close enough!

Please read entirely: Enjoy spectacular views of the Indian Peaks and surrounding mountains all in complete privacy while enjoying the glamping experience of being in an insulated space. The wood burning stove provides heat and you can enjoy modern day amenities such as WiFi and electricity generated by solar all while being completely off-grid! There’s no running water, so please bring as much water as you will need for your stay. The outhouse has a toilet only. There’s an outside cold water shower, that can be used during non-freezing temperatures. (June through October) If you need more water, we do have a water spigot with well water available about 1/4 mile away from the Blue Bear. Our 7 year old son cuts firewood, so that he can buy a toy of his choice. The firewood is $5 the bundle. One bundle usually lasts for one night. Note: In order to preserve water and lessen our carbon footprint, we encourage you to bring your own bed sheets or sleeping bag. If you would like for us to include sheets, pillow cases and comforter, a $20 additional fee will be applied. There is another cabin on the property about 300 feet away behind a curve from the Blue Bear. The porches of both cabins face opposite ways, so you have complete privacy while outside of your cabin. Pets are welcome for an extra $50. Please make sure your pet is accounted for on the reservation. Thanks. We can also accommodate your horse overnight, if you like to explore the trails on horseback. Please let us know ahead of time, so we can provide you the link to stay with your horse. Check-in instructions: Once you are on Hickok trail, you will get to a black gate. Please use the code: four times the number four, then press enter (the button with four arrows on it) to open the gate. Then follow the signs to the Blue Bear. The key is located in the black box next to the entrance door. On your way out, the gate will open once you approach it with your car. WiFi: Starlink Password: Bluebearguest1 For those sensitive to scents, we have added an essential oil diffuser to help keep flies away during the summer months. The scents used are peppermint, citronella, lemongrass, geranium and cedar wood. Feel free to put the diffuser outside if the scent is too strong.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Little Bear is a tiny mountain cabin situated among big pine trees with a view of the Indian Peaks. There’s electricity for some simple amenities such as fridge, WiFi, and microwave and for your cooking needs, you have the outside grill with side burner or the microwave inside. Please bring your own water to drink, since there’s only a water tank with Non-Potable water for your use. The Little Bear is an insulated 10 by 10 space. It has an electric heater for those cold nights. We border Roosevelt National Forest, where you can hike and just enjoy the outdoors. The Ceran Saint Vrain trailhead is less than one mile away and Brainard Lake is a short 20 minute drive. If you feel as you need to go to town, Boulder, Estes Park, and Nederland are all a 30 min drive. Away, yet close enough! On your way to the Little Bear you have to pass another cabin. The cabins are about 300 ft apart and their porches face opposite ways, so you have complete privacy while being outside of your cabin. The Little Bear is also behind a curve so almost not visible to the other cabin. Pets are welcome for an extra fee of $35. Please make sure your pet is included in your reservation.

The Blue Bear
Top tier stay. The view is spectacular and the cabin was really complete feeling for the size of it. We would definitely come back and recommend it to others. We bumped into the owner and he seemed like a very nice guy too! The wood stove brought us much joy and inspired many ideas.

Blue Bear was an amazing little weekend getaway. The place was clean, well maintained, and stocked up with necessities. The view was absolutely breathtaking and exceeded our expectations! Could not recommend this site enough.

Little Bear
The little bear or Blue bear is a very nice cozy place to stay. It has all essential things to make your stay comfortable and a remembering one. It is very peaceful and easy to reach. Plus cesar is very nice person and always responsive to your needs. Already planning for the next one at Blue/little bear.

Little Bear
This property was AMAZING! I stayed 2 nights by myself and I’m so grateful I found this site. The little bear cabin was perfect. Signage was clear leading up to the site. The road is dirt leading up to it and then gravel. The view from the cabin is great. Through the trees you can see the mountains, walk up the hill a tiny bit and amazing clear views. The grill worked well and there was firewood at the wood stove. The inside was clean and it was great to have the fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker. The cabinets had paper plates, plastic cups and some plastic utensils. The cabin keeps out the cold fairly well but it was a bonus to have the heater. The bed was comfortable and there was a cot below you could put together if you had another person that needed a spot. The porta potty was clean as was the site in general. You can see the other cabin from this one but it’s not too close. I highly suggest booking this cabin!

Wonderful view and space!
The Blue Bear
Beautiful view! We had a great stay. All images and posted amenities are accurate. The space is well insulated and kept heat well. We used the wood stove for heat before bed to ensure the temperature stayed up over the course of the night. We stayed in September and there are aspens on the property with a beautiful Mountain View. With a clear day you can see multiple mountains and some had snow on top!

Like a little hotel!
Little Bear
Great spot! Cesar let us stay and check out the foothills for some moonlight photography. We had the sound of horses nearby, some birds, and a very glamorous tiny cabin to stay warm in while we waited for the clouds to clear. Enough distance from the nearby properties and the other cabin to feel on our own, and a good little hike nearby through a small aspen grove.

What a cool, serene, GORGEOUS spot. Close enough to Denver to have a night out in the mountains. WiFi, too, so working here is totally doable and you’d have the best view. The hosts have really stocked the place well and the outside and inside fires were perfect on a chilly night. Did I mean the vast night sky full of stars???

We loved our stay at the blue bear! The views are breathtaking. The space is comfortable. We appreciated the large signs directing us to the cabin, the art along the road, and the signage throughout the cabin. We were surprised to find a refrigerator and wifi as well. My daughter was so sad to have to depart. We definitely made some great memories on this trip and inspired to build my own cabin.

Absolutely loved my solo time at the cabin. Such a peaceful spot and so thoughtfully put together. There was another cabin just past this one that had guests staying at it, but overall still felt secluded and quiet. Loved all the chipmunks, birds, and deer around. I hope to be back again in the future for more solo time.

Wonderful Trip!

I took my out of town parents here for a glamping experience and we couldn’t have asked for more. The view of the sunset was spectacular. We had everything we needed and more to have a wonderful stay.

Really loved this space! It's a little cabin but it's got everything you could need. Bed was comfortable and amenities were all new. Only about 100 yards from the other rental on the property but far enough to feel private!

We had 4 adults for 2 nights and had a wonderful time! The grill and all of the items were great quality and condition. The WiFi was super fast! The outdoor fire stove was even better than a traditional open campfire. They just opened a new cabin down the road that looks like it’d be great if you had a larger group.

This lovely cabin was quite a jaunt op the mountain, but so worth it. Fantastic views and a very thoughtful and well apportioned place to stay. Very quiet and private. And we saw a bear! We wish we could have stayed longer.
