It was easy to find Forrest's land. The cell phone reception was unreliable. I have AT&T. It cut in and out. Forrest kindly offered to have me come to his place to use his Wifi, which I didn't do, but thank you Forrest for the offer.
I expected, from reading the Hipcamp blurb, a shady and secluded place for our camper van. There was no shade to speak of for the camper van. There were shady areas outside with chairs. We expected a leveled camp site but the ground was not level. My husband said: the campsite smelled of cow maneur. The BBQ grill was a plus. Thank you so much for that touch.
The bathroom was a chemical porta-potty with TP and no hand sanitizer.
We expected, from the blurb on Hipcamp, an organic farm. We have been on many organic farms in the past and have had friends who own and run small organic farms. This was not an organic farm. This was a narrow strip of land, underdeveloped agriculturally, and surrounded on both sides by what seemed to be monoculutre commercial corn fields. I don't consider it healthy to stay amidst commerical farmlands, especially as the winds were high. It was incredibly windy the night we were there, with no wind cover. On July 3 it was very hot and not a place comfortable for hanging out from my perspective.
If you are coming at 8pm on a summer eve and plan to leave in the morning, and if iffy cell service and no wifi is okay with you, this is an okay place to land.

We enjoyed our stay here! Clear directions were provide and the area was easy to access. Our spot felt private and we appreciated the convenience of the tables and chairs and a clean porta potty. Our kids particularly enjoyed the nearby tire swing. We would stay again !

The site has a couple of tables & some chairs, a lot of shade trees, & a big cleared area. I'm still getting the hang of backing our new travel trailer into sites so it took me a few tries but it's pretty easy to set in (we tow a 25' travel trailer w/an F150). The ground is level but lumpy. We lucked out getting level but bring blocks JIC. We were there between harvests so didn't get any farm produce but mostly were looking for R&R. Ft. Collins is within a half hr so we spent a day in town. The trees blocked most of the farm vehicle & hwy noise as well as our generator's (it was hot, we needed the air conditioning).
Overall it's a nice Grove of trees to camp in on a farm that's away from town but has easy access to it. There are no hookups but there is a PortaPotty so tenting or self-contained RVs will work...probably not a 50' land barge but a 30' trailer will fit easily.

Was really good. We arrived very late in the night and he was very pacient with us. Then early in the morning he give us fresh duck eggs for our breakfast and fresh vegetables! Really beautiful experience.
Each camp site is very private with nice chairs and trees all around the place.

The site was as described. I feel that marking the driveway better off the main road would help assure campers they were in the right place. Hopefully a bigger port a potty with hand washing capabilities using the future but now will remember to bring anything for that with me. I felt safe for the one night I was there. Thank you for the experience of a quiet safe place to spend the night.

Beautiful property close to down town Fort Collins. We’re in town for 3 days for graduation weekend. It was great being able to be close to campus and family activities yet have a quiet and secluded space to return to at night. Site 2 was everything we expected and so much more! Would highly recommend!

Shady Grove at OwlTree Farm
We spent 2 nights at the farm. We were in town visiting with friends so didn’t stay still long enough to fully enjoy the experience, but coming home to the quiet and starry night at the end of each day was lovely. Forrest was a wonderful host, keeping us posted about a couple of small muddy patches on the way into our site, which were easy to navigate. The first day we arrived the cows walked in from the pasture to greet us as we set up our camp, and at the end of the day is was nice to fall asleep to their moos off in the distance. The self-service stand was cute and we bought some delicious eggs one of the mornings. Hope to come back again in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- the views were beautiful! Forrest greeted us upon arrival and was a great host. The farm is bustling with animals and the gardens growing beautifully. Campsites were generously spaced. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our staying at the Shady Grove - OwlTree Farm! Plenty of space for our group at the campsite, unique experience to be camped next to the cows (calf’s were curious and adorable), and close to Fort Collins so we could enjoy the breweries! Thanks for hosting us, Forrest!

Shady Grove at OwlTree Farm
This place is absolutely beautiful! The campsite was shaded and so lovely, there were cows near our site along with chickens. The site was clean and safe, really the only downside is it is close enough to the highway (which is great for convince sake) to hear it all night. Otherwise this site is amazing! We opted for the chicken dinner with the sides provided by Forrest and it was the most amazing chicken and veggies! We will absolutely be back, highly highly recommend this spot!

Absolutely loved this stay! The campsite was large, far away from other sites with ample shade and trees. A great quick get away in the FOCO area. The farm was beautiful and great to wander around to look at the friendly cows, chickens, ducks and turkeys. 100% recommend this wonderful gem!

Loved all the characters on the far: cute calves, staunch bull dog, sleek weimaraner and chickens. The apple location was clear and flat and the tree rows provided a neat "tunnel" effect. Forrest was awesome and we loved our stay!

I love this farm! Forrest is a wonderful host! We live about an hour away and this is one of our goto spots for a quick overnighter. We were so lucky to book a night when Forrest and other musicians were playing music, with a great crowd enjoying the festivities. Woke up after a peaceful sleep and grabbed our dozen fresh day old eggs for a savory breakfast before we headed off. It has been extremely hot, over 90’s recently and there is a lot of shade to keep you cool! We will be back.

We only stayed a night, but it was wonderful! Wish we could have had the full farm experience. When we arrived, we were nervous that there would be a lot of mosquitos but to our surprise we did not get a single bite! We enjoyed site 3, it was secluded and peaceful.

Overall nice location, thunderstorms hit us all night so we ended up sleeping in the car. But portable potty was like brand new and weren’t bothered by host. 8/10

This was our second time here. We love the spot we stayed in as it is very private. We had a great time and enjoyed the cooler weather the past few days.
We will be out again and may check out a new spot next time.

Great place to camp, nice little getaway if you live in Fort Collins and don’t want to drive into the mountains. As another reviewer accurately described, the highway noise is just a white noise in the background, which is surprising considering how close it is to I-25. The Bee family farm right up the road was a great local experience (Rich was an amazing guide). The SWA up the road is a nice little nature walk (pass required), and Hamilton reservoir a little ways down the road is a Colorado birding hotspot if that’s your thing. I think site 3 is the best due to the seclusion, but the adjacent farm is a working one and we did see several people pass by on foot and in trucks on the dirt road on the other side of the fenceline. Good shade from the Colorado summer sun, and some cool farm animals to check out, although I felt bad making the dogs go insane every time we went to see the chickens and ducks.
