A Rocky Mountain Glamping Experience Relax streamside in our private camp overlooking lush nature and towering rock outcroppings. Stroll along a rushing stream or head up challenging Moose Track trail to Balancing Rock. After your day of adventure or kicking back enjoy a hot shower. Share your revelations of the day around the campfire, roast marshmallows, or relish your favorite treat as you unwind. Bliss Canyon features 4 accommodations: 2 Gypsy Wagon Campers and 2 spacious Tent Cabins and a boondocking RV site. Teardrop camper sleeps 2 as an addition to any accommodation. The open-air, covered Kitchens have sinks, fresh, potable hot water, kitchenware, gas stove —pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc, BBQ with side burner, critter-resistant food safe, bear-proof trash can, and picnic table outside. We provide a convenient propane campfire for safety since our climate is dry and often windy. No candles or open flames please. Limited WIFI available. There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. (Ask Hiker Dot for guidance.) Several National Forest access points, where you can enjoy peaceful walks away from crowds, are a short drive. New this year Bliss Camp is adding a 12' x 14' Glamping Tent Cabin. Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking, picturesque South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon! Dark Skies: If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe. Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.) Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details. The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. Also, Spirit Hound Distillery received the award for the #1, Best Whiskey in the World in 2022, hmmm, it might be worth a tasting! Due to our popularity reservations often fill up quickly. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings. *** Bliss Camp awarded Runner-Up for Best Glamping in Colorado for 2023 and 2024 *** Bliss RV site is quiet, private, level, easy-access boondocking site, perfect for your self-contained unit for RV'ers who are prepared for a rustic camp away from others. There is a clean and maintained porta potty. This is not a tent site. Campers must have their own wastewater containment. Parking is primarily on a well-graded shoulder with pavement beside (private road, no traffic). Be aware that one needs good backing skills; you will need to back 300' from the road into the site. This is not a pull-through location. Quiet, under-control dogs are welcome with a limit of 2. Our property, Bliss Canyon, is 5 acres of streams, ponds, rock outcroppings, canyon walls, and level areas surrounded by 400 acres of National Forest. There are easy streamside trails and the challenging Moose Track trail to the balancing rock. We have opened this site after many requests from campers looking for a unique, uncrowded location outside of traditional campgrounds who don't need additional amenities. Bliss Camp is only 10 miles from the charming town of Lyons, home of Planet Bluegrass which hosts renknowned music festivals, many eateries with live music, shops, coffee shops, parks, and grocery market. Jewel of the rockies, Rocky Mountain National Park is also nearby; 20 minutes to Wild Basin, 30 minutes to Longs Peak entrance, and 45 minutes to Beaver Meadow entrance. There is also easy access to several National Forest trails and recreation areas. On other areas of our property we rent 2 Vardo Wagons, the 10' x 12' Frontier Tent, and the 12' x 14' Explorer Tent for the full Glamping experience with amenities. There is some road noise during the day, but nights are quiet and peaceful.

This deck can also be used to set up a tent to increase space for extra guests. Enjoy a private experience in Bliss Canyon for your group event. This site books out the entire property! You will have access to all of our sites and will be the only guests on property (excluding owners residence.) Our Rocky Mountain Glamping Event Venue includes 2 Gypsy Wagons, screened in Gazebo, the Frontier Tent and Explorer Tent, and Bliss RV site. (See individual site descriptions to understand what is included in your stay.) A teardrop trailer and tent sites are optional for your accommodation. We have bedding for 19 people total (2 queen beds and 7 full beds with double occupancy; 1 twin bed). We also have room for up to 4 tent spaces and parking for up to 2 RVs without hookups. We can accommodate up to 30 people max onsite including daytime only visitors. There are 3 porta-johns, 3 hot outdoor showers, 3 fully-equipped outdoor kitchens. Kitchens have sink, fresh, potable water, propane stove, kitchenware—pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. BBQ with side burner, critter-resistant food safe, bear-proof trash can, and picnic tables. Byron and Dot were incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts — you can tell they truly enjoy sharing their space. They made me feel right at home and had some great recommendations for local trails and scenic spots that really made my stay even better. The property was peaceful, well-kept, and a perfect base to explore the area. Would definitely stay again!

My family and I really enjoyed camping at Dot and Byron's boondocking site. I have a 24 ft. travel trailer which fit nicely in their spot. The area is beautiful to say the least. Dot and Byron were very hospitable and very helpful in many ways to include providing information on the area and helping me get my camper in place. It was quiet and peaceful even with other guests on site. Initially, the proximity of the workshop and permanent trailer was slightly off putting but with all the goodness that feeling faded fast. We had a great time and I felt relaxed there.

Dot and Byron’s place was fantastic! We were in town for the Elk rut, RMNP, and Estes park. It was the perfect distance for privacy, but not too far away from Estes. They were great host and directions were perfect! We will definitely be staying again!

Loved the location, nestled in a valley with the gorgeous stream flowing by. Great location to park our travel trailer and enjoy the weekend. Super clean port-a-potty and amazing views. Loved hiking to the balanced rock and enjoyed the peaceful scenery! Picnic table was perfect for meals and the stream-side chairs were amazing for coffee and a book. Dot and Byron were fabulous hosts and met us on the road to help guide us into the spot. Will definitely return!

Dot and Byron were fabulous hosts! Everything was great for introducing my two little ones (3 and 1) to camping. The hosts met me and gave me all kinds of local advice. The kitchen was so useful. The little fireplace was great for their first smores. The property had all kinds of games and cute Knick knacks to find. Lots of seating options. The beds were actually comfortable! Glamping in Style
Explorer Tent
This is a magical place! The property is gorgeous, the explorer tent was beyond comfortable with every detail thought out to perfection. I couldn't believe we had a private outdoor kitchen area, propane fire pit, personal picnic area and outdoor hot shower! I loved everything about this experience. The hosts were wonderful, helpful and very kind. Highly recommend:)

Bliss Camp Glamping in Shimza
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shimza. The cart itself is beautiful woodwork, and made for a comfortable nest. The kitchen, similarly handcrafted, had everything we needed and nothing we didn't! And how amazing to have a hot shower available when camping. Everything seemed fresh and clean. Very pretty property and we greatly enjoyed floating on the creek as well. Will definitely return.

Dot & Byron were great! Very welcoming and had lots of recommendations for some great hikes. Great communication and I would definitely stay here again. The tents were beautiful, the outdoor kitchen and shower were amazing! They truly thought of everything. ❤️

Dot and Byron are so welcoming and very thorough with everything you need to know and what the site offers. The kids loved the games and hammock and wading pool and outdoor shower! Very easy and pleasant and restful stay. We'll be back 😁

What a great experience. After this stay, I would count Byron and Dot as friends and not just hosts. We had an issue with our camper and they directed us to West Main Auto where Eric took great care of us. The property is beautiful and pic don't do it justice, but Byron and Dot made the stay a favorite! Highly recommend this stay. We definitely acquired new friends here!

Explorer Tent
Absolutely beautiful property! There is another tent close by and some of the space is shared so not as secluded as we’d hoped but we still loved the place! Dot and Byron couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful with showing us around the property. Not too far of a drive (~35 mins) to the National Park entrance which was great. Bed was comfortable and the extra blanket was much appreciated! Overall we had a great time and would recommend to anyone looking for a unique place near the national park.

I really enjoyed camping in Bliss Canyon. The property has a beautiful creek running through it that lulled us to sleep and wading pools to keep us cool on a hot summer day. The surrounding high canyon walls were also amazing. Dot & Byron were extremely friendly and gave very helpful tips to maximize our experience in the area. I would definitely book here again!

Frontier Tent Glamping, Bliss Camp
We really enjoyed our time at Dot & Byron’s camp! The property is so beautiful and fun to explore and we had a blast playing the yard games. We had planned to go hiking and eat in town but enjoyed being there so much we just spent the whole day hanging out at the camp. The tent is very comfy and the outdoor kitchen is really cool! The camp had everything we needed. Dot & Byron are very friendly and kind and have lots of local recs for hiking, food and fun. We’d love to return with our kids someday. Definitely a special spot.

Really nice and quiet, owners are kind and plenty to explore, perfect especially for if you have a car camper/ van! Listing says no bathrooms but they had added portable toilets when I was there which was nice

We loved our stay at Dot and Byron‘s property! They are very kind and personable people. We wish we could have gotten to know them better, but time was short. We hope to visit again and recommend this property to other hipcampers!

Explorer Tent
The Explorer Tent is fantastic. Dot and Byron think of everything you could possibly need and more! The scenery is beautiful. And the tent was cozy with comfortable beds. Between the bed and futon, three adults slept well with room still to move around. We took advantage of a nearby yoga platform and some of the outdoor games setup around the camp. Dot provided us information on a great hike nearby. We all hope to come back!

Bliss Canyon is the perfect get away! Whether you are looking to adventure & access all of the hiking, sightseeing , & activities right in the area or if you're looking to just unwind and never leave the property this is the place! The property is breathtakingly beautiful, natures gifts all around you . The sites available are each so unique & offer something for everyone . You can plan on a spotless , fully stocked , and easy to access glamping site . It says hot shower available & it's true , a HOT shower right in the wilderness ! Beautiful trails right on property and don't miss the soaking ponds ...they are a treasure ! Check in and out is a breeze . Dot & Byron are the most gracious and welcoming hosts . They accommodated us with all we needed and made us feel so welcomed . They have truly loved this property into being and you can tell. We will definitely return !

Bliss is such a special place - we stayed here because it was halfway between Boulder and Estes, just off the road above Lyons. We camped for 4 nights listening to the beautiful stream, walking along their private trails, picking fresh raspberries, and enjoying quietude. The RV site or the little cabins they built are precious and super clean, this place would be so wonderful for school aged children to explore nature.

Dot and Byron's camp was beautiful and exactly what we needed. The hummingbirds were incredible and we had an unforgettable time. We all felt so at home here and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Definitely stay here, if you're considering it. It is kid friendly, sustainable and so beautiful.

This place is a GEM! It was definitely a highlight of our trip. Our sons loved climbing all the boulders, playing games, it was a big playground for them. Great hiking, the river, cold pools were amazing and we used the outdoor kitchen each day. We loved everything about it! Dot and Byron were super nice and very accommodating. We hope to visit again in the future. Thanks for sharing your beautiful space!

Perfect spot for boondocking! Quiet, private, and surrounded by beautiful forest and streamside trails. Tricky to back up our trailer, but Byron was a huge help.
