Tipi camping with Shower House
George's property is absolutely stunning and the site offers everything you need! The tipi is quite charming and includes a foam mattress (bring your pillow and sleeping bag), a table and chairs, a mini cooler, a lantern, drinking water, flowers from his garden, and towels for the very nice bathhouse. The heated bathhouse is a short walk away with hot water. You'll be nestled in the trees with a front row view of the river, plenty of space between you and your neighbors. A 5-minute walk to Big B's Cider and a 3 min drive into Paonia town. George was a lovely host and this place is a gem! We will certainly be back!

Beautiful natural environment. Loved the pathways. amazing atmosphere.
My best moments: awaking to wild geese flying over, eyes lift to the ceiling and then outside through many windows. Sun rising, mountains, creek sounds. Make fire and Coffee!

We were camping with our trailer. Great site, with river access, fire pit, grill, a true restroom and shower (not an outhouse with a bucket), you feel secluded yet you are close to everything Paonia had to offer. Would camp here again the next time we visit the western slope.

A lovely spot to camp, with trees for shade, a clean indoor bathroom, and good location close to downtown Paonia and Big B's. Amenities include a nice fire ring -- stocked with firewood! -- as well as tables and chairs.

Beautiful place! They've created such a nice space with beautiful spots to sit by the river. The inside of the you're is beautifully furnished and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this quirky little campsite! The tent pitch is spacious, private and very peaceful. The shower house is beautifully decorated and very clean. Lovely hot showers. George was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here!

My pup and I had the best time relaxing at the campsite and exploring the property! Great views along the river, very clean shower house and they have everything you need. Close to a main road so you will hear cars but it’s not bad. The hosts were so welcoming, I hope to stay here again!

George & Devon’s property is a favorite. I’ve now been two times and will return again. If you’re a light sleeper, I recommend ear plugs due to an occasional coal train that blows by in the night, but something about that too is nostalgic and cool. It’s peaceful, 4 deer wandered through my camp. I stayed solo and slept under the stars and felt safe and sound. They’re very responsive, the bath house is incredibly clean with hot water and 2 showers, indoor and outdoor. The tipi is beautiful and has the best chunk of the property, right on the river. Walking to Big B’s Orchard for live music and dinner is a highlight ❤️ Thank you George and Devon for having such a peaceful place for us to stay. We’ll be back!

A labor of love, beautiful property with artistic touches and George was a good communicator. I had no problem finding the place and enjoyed all the thoughtful touches and creativity. A wonderful WC and shower as well, with even an outdoor shower option!

This was one of my favorite camping experiences. It had everything. Lots of extra touches made to every campsite. Very peaceful. Already planning our next stay here. George was very welcoming and super nice.

The location of George’s land is spot on if you want to be close to town for a full Paonia experience and or music at Big B’s. He has options to choose from that include RV/pitch your own, a Tipi or yurt(s) right along the river! There is even a fantastic little shower house with flushing toilet and sink for the comforts of home while also camping.

George has created an amazing location. We loved it so much we booked for 5 days in July 2026 while there. RV site has electric and is very close to a great bathroom with hot shower. Great walk along the river and to BigBs next door for food, beer, wine, cider, ice cream and live music!!!!

George was the ultimate gracious host. He even brought us fresh cut flowers. The Tipi was spacious and clean with our own BBQ grill and fire pit. Bathroom and shower was a bit of a walk but modern, extremely clean with shower and shampoo supplies.

George's land is simply magical. They've carefully carved out campsites, trails, and a central shower house to make staying there feel private and convenient. We loved every minute of our stay there and being so close to Big B's is a huge bonus. This is our second time staying on George's land and we'll be back again!

Love the campsite and George the host was great. Definitely loved having Big B's within walking distance which when they have live music is like going back in time with all the great characters that are there. The highlight was the lightening bugs. Great time and look forward to coming back.

I stayed at Riverwalk for 3 nights in a small trailer and really enjoyed my time there. Riverwalk is right on the Paonia river and comprises a couple of yurts and RV sites. There is art and sculpture everywhere. The sites are well spaced so I seldom saw anyone else. On Friday and Saturday evening there is live music down the road. George is friendly and helpful. There is a flush toilet and a hot shower, water and electricity. Level shaded site.

This spot exceeded our expectations! George was the sweetest host and the Campsite was perfect and well kept. The bathroom was amazing, couldn't have asked for more. Having river access was so fun.

George has created a unique and beautiful camping experience near the river. The shower/bath house was VERY nice and clean; his entire property showed lots of attention to detail. Big B’s is next door and had good food and live music. We would definitely stay again.

Had a great memorial day weekend in the Tipi! The site is MASSIVE, it could easily fit 2 families camping together. Tipi was comfy with a night time breeze and two foam mattress pads. Firewood was provided which was so nice - the campfire on the river was the highlight of my trip. Enjoyed the easy access to shower/toilet and to charge devices. George and his partner are LOVELY hosts. 5 stars.

Such a peaceful and welcoming spot. The host greeted me upon arrival and made me feel right at home. My site had both water and electric hookups for my RV, and the bathhouse was great—clean, private, with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The whole place has a laid-back, relaxing vibe. There’s a short path along the river with lots of cozy spots to sit and read: hammocks and an assortment of charming, mismatched chairs. The site had a fire pit with a cooking grate, and there was also a charcoal BBQ available.
It’s also right next door to Big B’s, where you can grab their famous ciders—both alcoholic and non. They have live music on the weekends, which could be super fun to check out.
I’ve already booked my next stay—can’t wait to come back!

Grove Yurt
We loved staying in the yurt! It had so many beautiful touches, and the area around it was spectacular, too. We enjoyed spending time by the river and watching all the birds and wildlife.

First time in Paonia, and we loved it! Our campsite was better than expected. George met us at the entrance and showed us to our spot. We managed to back our camper van into the spot which gave us even more privacy. There was a fire ring and lots of chairs including a sling chair. Sites are large and well spaced. Trash dumping and water hose available. The adorable bathhouse is worth a visit alone. Fully equipped. The temps were a bit chilly to try the outdoor shower, but the indoor shower was large, clean and even provided soap and shampoo. There is a nice path to walk around the grounds and along the river. We enjoyed exploring with our dog, but caution that there were ground burrs which kept getting stuck in our dog’s paws and in the bottoms of our shoes (so make sure to check feet/paws/shoes before going back into your RV/tent/car/etc.). Bit of road noise from Route 133 but quiet for being so close to a town. Paonia has several good restaurants (try Sweetgrass!) and cute shops. Big B’s Orchard next door to campground has fun events (like an Apple Festival held the weekend we were in town). Cell service was very limited for Verizon. Most businesses in town offer wifi so you can connect if necessary or just enjoy being off-net! I would definitely recommend a stop at this historic property!
