Amazing location with great mountain views! Sites are spread out so you have plenty of privacy! Our dog loved all the open space she had as well. The 3 working dogs were super friendly and checked up on us throughout the stay. Highly recommend!

Easy to find, great view, and the firepit setup was a big plus. Recently stayed in during a fairly large downpour and the roads were still passable with ease the following day.

Loved RHR! We were the only ones there, which made it really nice and peaceful. The stars were amazing and the working doggos came to hang out with us frequently throughout the day and keep us safe from coyotes. Directions in the reservation and signs along the way were clear and we got there with no problem. We also drove an AWD Subaru Impreza and didn’t have any issues on the road.

We loved camping here! We arrived in the middle of the week and didn’t see anyone else out there, other than the two pups that guarded our campsite, until late Friday night. I was in a 2WD car and had no trouble getting there, despite a little bit of rain during our trip (don’t think it would’ve made it as far with a heavy storm though), and it was a quick drive to the national park. Only trouble we had was trying to set up camp at the first site we attempted, where it was really windy (fine for an RV but not great for an ultralight tent). We had no trouble at the second site though, that had a nice hill as a wind block. The sky was indescribable at night - 10/10 recommend!

We had a lovely time at Rabbit Hole Ranch! Directions were clear, the land was beautiful and well maintained, and the dogs and stars were the highlight of our trip! Felt very safe. Highly recommend! Only thing is the porta potty is kinda far away to walk to, you might want to drive, but it wasn’t too much of a hassle. Thanks Jen, KayLee, and Finn!

Jen’s campsite exceeded our expectations! It was true camping with ease! I’m glad we drove in our truck, as we literally off roaded to the spot we wanted. It could get a little tricky out there if we didn’t have a lifted vehicle, I presume. The views are incredible and every morning and evening we couldn’t believe that we were lucky enough to experience it! We walked around the flats, I’m guessing it was once a lake, but there is lots of room to roam. The night sky was absolutely incredible- I have never seen so many stars and milky way! It was primitive camping, so don’t expect the toilet to be close by- we didn’t care. It was very quiet out there- lots of coyotes in the distance, but we felt safe with Jen’s dogs on patrol! Bring lots of stakes as the wind was vicious at points. Short drive to sand dunes and zapata falls, both equal distance in either direction. We grabbed a spot with a fire ring- first come, first serve. Lots of space between sites. We didn’t see the host, so we didn’t feel like we were being micro managed or anything. A couple campers came and went, but everyone was very respectful of lights out/quiet time at 10p! The site was exceptionally clean. We would absolutely come back again.

Staying at Rabbit Hole Ranch was great. Jen was very friendly and responsive to questions. Jeff at the campsite was very helpful getting the firewood and answering question. The site had great views and the solitude I was looking for!

Such a cool place. Quite far from the sand dunes (maybe a 30-45 minute drive) but still worth it. You truly feel out in the middle of nowhere but there’s still a tiny bit of civilization near you and there’s service! The dogs are so sweet too. Thanks :)

This spot is amazing! Close vicinity to the sand dunes, awesome views of the mountains, and great sunsets and stargazing. And a huge bonus, there are dogs! Finn, Kaylee, and Boudicca, hung out with us the whole weekend and even slept outside our tents to keep us safe from coyotes and whatever else wandered around at night. They like treats so definitely pack some. 10/10 definitely coming back.

Beautiful view, very quiet and peaceful. Only about 30 mins from sand dunes which was perfect. We were the only ones at the campsite for our first night and felt extremely safe thanks to the campsites doggies (who were both the sweetest ever). Porta potty was a short drive away but was not horrible. Loved our stay!

Campsites were really open and spacious, plenty of room between each site. We had a great time! Got pretty windy and hot during the day. Be sure to pack plenty of stakes and a source of shade. Stars were incredible!

The site itself is very beautiful and remote, and would be great for tent camping if driving in with a sturdy vehicle. Great communication by the host too.
That said driving 5-6 miles on bumpy dirt road in our RV was painful…so much so that we only stayed one of the two nights booked because we were worried the road would damage our RV.

Jen’s Rabbit Hole Ranch was beautiful. She was also a great host, quickly responsive to my questions along with her willing to help with whatever tasks! Finding location to camp was easy and the area is very beautiful at night.

It was perfect for us. You don’t stay there for amenities, you stay for the beautiful, secluded sites with awesome views, amazing dark sky stars, and nobody to bother you. My two young kids loved exploring and absolutely fell in love with Jen’s Great Pyrenees who visited and hung out with me by the fire long after they went to bed.

We camped here for 2 nights (family of 2 adults and 3 kids ages 3-10). We absolutely loved it! You can’t beat the views & having built in guard dogs. They are the absolute sweetest and won’t bother you.. just hangs out next to the tent sites! We drive a Honda Odyssey and had no issue getting to the campsite for reference.

I enjoyed my time here with my two dogs! The directions from the host were easy to follow and there was plenty of space between sites. As others mentioned, having a bug net will come in very handy.

Had a wonderful night at Rabbit Hole Ranch. The views of the mountain range were spectacular. The dogs stopped by and hung out with us since we were the only campers on the property that night. We cooked using the supplied fire ring and sat back to enjoy the stars. Highly recommend this one of a kind place.

It was exactly what we needed. We stayed for one night and were welcomed by our two four legged hosts, Kaylee and Finn 🐾! When my daughter and I arrived, a storm was brewing in the distance, but then a beautiful rainbow 🌈 appeared, creating a stunning view. The location was easy to find, even though it was a bit farther than I had expected from the sand dunes. Still, it was perfect and so peaceful.

What a great camping spot! Close enough to the Sand Dunes Park as well as other awesome things to do including Colorado Gator Farm and Sand Dunes Recreation Center. Had two families of 4 staying and it was the perfect amount of space. We had the place to ourselves pretty much for the first couple days and then other campers showed up but it there was still plenty of space between sites. Our kids did all the exploring they could and there was still space to explore more. The ranch dogs are amazing, sweet, friendly, and protective they scared off some critters while hanging out with us. Only thing I can think of that was a bit of a bummer was the trek to the bathroom being a little far from where we set up camp, but it was clean and honestly it was nice to even have a portapotty on the property.
