This property on a dead-end road offers beautiful views of the West Elk Mountains, the Adobes beyond the valley, and stunning stars, sunrises, and sunsets above. With lodging options ranging from parking or tent camping to staying in a hunting tent or studio apartment, and a convenient location just three miles up the hill from Hotchkiss, it’s an ideal fit for groups with varying comfort needs. Groups of up to 20 people can be accommodated, with private spots for sleeping and relaxing, plus a communal “cookhouse” for gathering. (Please note: the apartments are not included in this listing.)This is an idea place for group camping with a variety of sleeping options and places to hang out together and enjoy the views. Just three miles outside of Hotchkiss, it is also ideal for groups who want to enjoy events in the area. This site includes six sleeping spaces: two 13' round tents (without beds), one 16' round tent, a teardrop trailer, a "shack" with a twin bed inside and a futon on the covered deck and an RV with a double mattress and a deck. There area also a few twin-sized platforms for sleeping under the stars. The main camping area is close to the cookhouse, portapotty and bucket bath spots and the RV is a little more removed. There are three folding foam 4" mattresses that can be moved around, three twin mattresses in the larger tent, and a mattress in the teardrop, all with bedding. There is also room for up to three camper vans or small trailers. A bucket of water per person per day is provided for bucket baths. The cookhouse has a small fridge, a gas BBQ with a side burner, a dishwashing station, a bar and tables and chairs for everyone. There is also a hangout tent without walls in the camping area.
