Basecamp at Willow Creek has been a place my family has flocked to on the weekends to escape the stresses of work life. Surrounded by 40-acre tracts of land, you won't find any noisy neighbors except for the occasional elk. With stunning sunsets & beautiful aspen groves, Basecamp at Willow Creek is the perfect place to commune with nature and enjoy the outdoors on a weekend trip. Learn more about this land: Nestled in the Powderhorn Wilderness, Basecamp at Willow Creek provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Located 12 miles from Highway 550 & 30 minutes from Blue Mesa Reservoir Marina the possibilities for adventure are endless!  Containing(1) Tipi, (1) primitive camp site, and (1) Leveled RV/Camper Van site that's able to accommodate vehicles up to 20' in length, Basecamp at Willow Creek is a great place to escape the stresses of daily life and enjoy the outdoors with family or friends. The site provides guests with access to a shared bathhouse, outdoor kitchen, and communal fire pits. With a shared bathhouse, outdoor kitchen, and communal fire pit surrounded by lush meadows, memories are waiting to be made! No Fire Ban in Gunnison-Crested Butte! While it may seem hard to believe, there is no fire ban in Gunnison County! Which makes August a perfect time to sneak in those last camping trips before the leaves start to change. We're thankful for a solid monsoon season here in Gunnison-Crested Butte, which has brought with it regular afternoon rains throughout July, keeping the forest moisture content high and campfires a plenty! Don't forget, with every stay at Campfire Ranch, al campers get unlimited firewood, kindling and firestarters. Want help starting your first campfire? We'll help ya out with that too!

      Beautiful campsite. Very private and a perfect spot for solitude. Booking was easy and communication was smooth. We didn’t stay both nights we booked due to travel plan change but we would love to come back in the future.

      Basecamp @ Willow Creek
      Base Camp at Willow Creek is the perfect spot for the more adventurous camper! This amazing property exceeded all our expectations. Already loving the high country around Gunnison, we wanted to find a place of solitude, beauty and rugged mountain terrain. This was it! We wanted to be away from the crowds and noise of the 4th of July and we found it here. The only sounds were the occasional mooing cows, fast-flying hummingbirds and other songbirds. Colleen checked in on us and gave us the history of the land and brought us a dozen fresh eggs. Thank you Colleen - we will be back!

      What a great basecamp! We camped here for three spectacular nights. There. Was an ample supply of firewood and a collection of firepits you have to experience. Theres an outdoor kitchen, newly constructed toilet and outdoor shower. Great comforts to return to after each days adventure.

      A camper’s dream

      I am so happy I stumbled upon this listing. Was on a last minute trip around Twin Lakes, Crested Butte and Gunnison and camped at places along the way. Wish I had booked two nights! The location really is the best if you want peace and quiet. The campsite itself is so well thought out and the extra touches were so appreciated. Bath house area was nice to have, although it looks like running water is in the works and not get ready, the 5 gallon camp bags and private enclosed shower and bath were perfect for us just the same. Plenty of wood, axe on site, tiny zipline, picnic benches, outdoor kitchen, and more. Owner even had fresh eggs dropped off for us before arrival. I can’t thank the host enough for creating this magical space. My pup loved it too! Plenty of Meadows and trees for him to roam and run his little heart out. Added bonus of cows in the distance. I actually enjoy hearing them. We hope to return soon!

      Our stay here at the base camp at Willow Creek was absolutely amazing! The site itself was a ways from nearby stores and service, but the breathtaking land and scenery was very much worth it. The hosts were also very welcoming and helpful! Restrooms, showers and everything we had access to was clean AND they also had a zip line! We got to camp on the meadow, got to explore the beauty of the land and see some awesome wildlife. We will definitely be back((:
