A-Lodge Boulder is a 30 room lodge just 2 miles above downtown Boulder, Colorado. We are located in a wilderness area of Boulder Canyon, right at the junction with Fourmile Canyon. We have three #vanlife sites and four tentsites for offer on Hipcamp. We have a BRAND NEW barrel sauna, hot tub, grills, seasonal pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day), meeting space, outdoor beer garden, bathrooms and showers for campers and a wonderful trail to Betasso Preserve right from your campsite. The Fourmile Creek runs through our property along our large lawn area. Great views and you might see bear, deer, elk, moose, foxes, or even a mountain lion! Walk-in sites are just a short hike, about 100 feet, on an unmanicured trail to our platforms. We provide the platform for your tent as well as access to all of our lodge's amenities; front desk, lobby, bar & beer garden, fire pits, grills, bathrooms, shower, outdoor common areas, free wifi, etc. A-Lodge has a 7-day non-refundable cancellation policy. I booked a tent site at A-Lodge and it exceeded every expectation. The property is tucked into a peaceful mountain pocket with just the right mix of wilderness and comfort. You get the feeling of camping in nature, but with clean facilities, hot showers, and a friendly staff that actually cares about your stay. The tent sites are spaced out perfectly—private enough to feel like you’re on your own adventure, but close enough to walk to amenities. Waking up to the sound of the creek and the cool morning air was the best way to start the day. Trails are right next to the lodge, so I was able to hike straight from my campsite without ever getting in my car. The staff deserves special mention. They were welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, and gave genuinely helpful tips for hikes, food, and local spots. The community vibe around the lodge, especially in the evening, made the experience even better—quiet when you want rest, relaxed when you feel social. If you’re looking for a tent camping spot that balances nature, comfort, and adventure, A-Lodge is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Adventure King Suite

Deer came right down to the Lodge, plenty of creature comforts in the kitchen, jacuzzi tub, hot tub, with wifi and central heat. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. Trailhead on site for a good hike, or another right across the hwy. King Suite was spacious, check in was easy, be ready for an extra deposit fee.

Pretty nice spot to have a campout if you're doing something around the boulder area, or just want a more glamping type experience. They have beer on tap, showers, coffee, and wifi. The trail to the tent sites is steep and narrow, you need to be able to carry your stuff to the site. I do think the tent sites could have been cheaper but would be fine if you were splitting with a group. I think the maximum per site was 4

The A-Lodge is very nice, even if bathroom facilities for van/tent spots are not a lot (two restroom, one with the shower, and a common shower for men). The location is beautiful, in the woods but ten minutes drive from Boulder downtown.

1) Upon arrival, it was unclear where to go. Is the office the place for check-in? Can you drive your car across the wooden bridge? 2) When I asked the front desk person for advice as to how to load up to our tent site, like, is there a wagon to use?, she made me feel dumb and wasn't very helpful. 3) Even if there wasn't a fire ban in affect, there would be no place to have a fire, plus there's no place to sit at the tent site. Super awkward walking right past someone else's tent to get to ours, or every time we have to use the restroom. 4) Propane cooking stoves were supposedly allowed at the pavilion, but our first night there, the pavilion was taken over by a family reunion. The second night, by a corporate retreat. So we had to eat at restaurants in town. 5) Coffee was offered, but we were told you ran out of cups. This was the case for 2 days. Why could nobody run into town to get more? Should I have offered to do so? 6) Thankfully, the dominating family reunion followed the quiet time rules and were really loud until 10pm on the dot, and at 8am sharp began yelling again... but not so much for the corporate retreat last night. We were forced to listen to every word of their cringey conversation until 11:30pm. We had to ask them be quiet and go to bed (which they didn't) and then another camper had to do the same, and finally they did. Why is this the campers' job to enforce? Simply turning off the fire pit and patio lights gives a clear message that quiet tim

We enjoyed out stay at A lodge for two nights. It was clean and welcoming, the lobby area was perfect for when we needed morning coffee and some down time. The pool and sauna were amazing for us and our kiddo. However, there was a wedding going on this weekend and it would have been a nice heads up that would take up most of the parking and the pavilion area was closed off the whole day.

A-Lodge has a great set-up for van camping. The facilities are good, and we took advantage of the very reasonably priced e-bike rentals and the easy access to the Boulder Canyon Trail. We enjoyed our time at A-Lodge and will return if we wander back through the area.

We LOVED our time at A-Lodge and will definitely be back. The bathrooms and showers for the tent sites were so clean, the property was gorgeous and the lobby was such a nice place to hang out or get work done. We hiked one of the connector trails right behind the campsites and in just miles, we had amazing views. We will absolutely be back and couldn’t recommend the A-Lodge more to campers.

A-Lodge is such a delightful spot just up the Boulder Canyon. The road from Denver is gorgeous along Boulder Creek. Do NOT sleep on renting an e-bike and riding the creek path and up Four Mike Canyon! The resort has everything you need in a lovely setting! The staff are all very friendly and helpful! You can’t go wrong staying here!

rooms are very close together and can hear neighbors talking clearly thru the walls. hysterically crying children in the pool and our neighbors grilling on our table right outside our room woke us up around 8am. front desk area and service was lovely, great beers and coffee, nice little creek also, but very close to road.

Great location with lots of amenities. You do have to carry all your stuff up a steep, narrow path, which for us in tent 8 was kind of a hike. It's a great place though, and was a really good camping experience. You feel way up high on the mountain.

Great community space. But be careful if you’re getting the primitive camp sites. It’s a steep hike uphill from the parking lot and bathrooms to the site. You’ll also not be able to use any space off the platforms due to the steepness so make sure all your stuff fits - we made that mistake. Not great if you prefer car camping. Otherwise great place, location, and friendly staff. Dog friendly and showers too.

A-Lodge is a great alternative to traditional lodging in Boulder. The vibe strikes a perfect balance between rustic mountain hotel, hostel, and campground. Since it was hot during our stay, we cooled off in the pool and enjoyed playing games in the beer garden. The tent platforms on the hillside were a unique touch—just be sure your tent is freestanding. We brought a pyramid tent and had to get creative with how we set it up. After a relaxing morning coffee, I hiked the connector trail to Bettasso Preserve. Just walk past the tent platforms and keep going. The trail is steep and loose in places, so wear good shoes. The view looking back down Boulder Canyon is well worth the effort.
