Great stay!
Great, quiet stay! Most everything needed was provided including chairs, blankets, a smokeless fire pit with grill, picnic table, and well-stocked firewood and kindling, soap, sink, and even a dog bowl. We stayed in Camp #1 Wildwood, which felt fairly private. Note that the surrounding trails in the state park are not dog friendly and the flushing toilets do not have doors, just shower curtains. WiFi was intermittent - ok for casual use but not sufficient for working/video calls. But we had good service on our Starlink.

Star gazing and amazing amenities!
By far the best hipcamp I've stayed at! So much was provided for from comfortable tent pitches, fireside chairs and blankets, hot showers and flushable bathrooms to your own well stocked 'kitchen' area which had utensils, soap, washing up liquid, sponge and some basic seasonings/spices. Shay even brought us over a cast iron pan to borrow when we had forgotten ours (thank you!!!) Incredible carpentry and construction of the bathroom block and kitchen areas - you guys are very talented. Being only 3 sites well-spaced out from each other was the perfect balance of both privacy and community - it was lovely being such a small group of people on the land and everyone there was so friendly. We had fun playing badminton and corn hole with another family. The hike down to the waterfall is well worthwhile and we can't wait to come back in the Spring when there is a bit more water to swim in underneath. Thank you, Shay and Liz, for sharing this beautiful space, your plans for future development and some fascinating history of the land from a geological perspective. We wish you all the very best for the next few months and we already look forward to coming back next year for a group hire. Thank you again!

Mendocino magic!
WOW. This place is amazing! I don't know if I'll be able to go back to rough camping after staying at Waterfall. The description and photos say it all, but it was somehow better than I even expected. Having our own sink with potable water is a game changer. The adjustable grate over the firepit made campfire cooking super easy. Having toilets and showers made the three night stay very comfortable. The trails you can access easily from their property are really lovely, I was pleasantly surprised at how much water there was in the waterfall this time of year too! Shay and Liz have put so many thoughtful touches into the whole camp and experience. For example, providing heat safe gloves and cooking utensils. We always bring our own but it's so nice it's there if you want to pack lighter! I can't wait to come back!!

Awesome experience for the family
My family and I stayed at Shay and Liz’s place and it was a wonderful experience. We can’t wait for next year when we plan to go again. Shay was super attentive and actually made more than one visit to make sure we had everything. The outdoor kitchen area and private firepit with stocked firewood was definitely appreciated and the clean bathrooms and private how water showers spoiled us. We love this place. My recommendation would be to book Site 1 as it has areas of both shade and sun throughout the day.

BEST CAMP EVER!
We arrived and we were given an envelope with a welcome letter with our name on it, a map of the trail that leads to the waterfall, a list of all of the nearby retail and restaurants and cookies for my dog. At the camp there were two tent sites; one next to the dining table surrounded by huckleberries, the other in a peaceful private grove surrounded by huckleberries and Rhododendron flowers. Beautiful! The camp ground itself was a mastery of thoughtful amenities that every camper needs. There was a beautiful redwood kitchen complete with a sink running water, dish rack dish soap, hand soap and a hose to wash my dog off after a full day in the woods. The kitchen also had a multi spice jar, a bbq kit complete with tongs for bbq and metal sticks for marshmallow roasting, and a fire lighter stick. The redwood dining table had an abalone shell on it with citronella incense to keep the flies away. There was an adjustable umbrella to keep you out of the sun. The fire pit was a high end pit with a fire screen and an interchangeable adjustable grill. There was an abundance of free wood and kindling provided. We made a fire every night and every morning and never ran out of wood. Surrounding the entire camp were delicious huckleberry bushes. In the middle of the campground was a blackberry bush bursting with fruit. The site is full of small caring details that let you know they care. Things like solar lights on the ground,, and healthy bug spray in the bathroom

We had a fantastic time camping here! Liz was super helpful and communicative. The design of everything was very well thought out. We were very comfortable. I’d love to return.
