Starry JT Nights Moonflower - Eleva
Nicely isolated, amazing views of the night sky, can get pretty windy (strong enough to unhinge your tent), so ensure to pitch your tent robustly but apart from that, it’s perfect for a low to zero network getaway to experience Joshua Tree like you’re supposed to.

This is a beautiful place to stay. I highly recommend staying here to anyone with a high clearance vehicle. We loved this place! Probs for the great big metal moveable fire pit and the firewood there. We slept in our sleeping bags on the pretty comfortable mattress.
Word of warning though: totally our fault for not trusting his warning, but we did drive all the way to this place in our low clearance Honda Civic, and we would not do that again! We heard the road and the plastic protector panels under our car getting to know each other. Highly recommend with a high clearance vehicle, or hike out to here! I hope to stay out here again :-)

Todd was incredibly friendly and helpful when I brought a group of 15 campers here. The property is very clean and only 3 miles from the west entrance to Joshua Tree NP. I would definitely recommend staying here over one of the National park campgrounds.

Todd's place was really swell! The camp site was easy to find and kept up really well. It was nice to have the privacy between us and his other sites but also nice to have the bathrooms and water supply just a short walk up the road. Everything was kept up nice and clean, including the restrooms. We did get the honor to meet Todd, and he's a hoot. Quite a lovely individual and informative but gave us our space. The place was really something - quiet with a grand view of the stars at night. 10 out of 10, would a 100% come back and stay here!

This spot is so good!!! 5 minutes (or less) from Joshua Tree Park entrance. Landscape is the same as inside Joshua tree. You need to drive on dirt roads to ge there, but 4 wheel drive is not needed, my van did fine, so did the Prius driving on the same road. Quiet location, I only saw one car drove by the couple days we were there. I’ll be back!

We had a great time staying here. It was close to Joshua tree NP as well as the town itself. Perfect location. Had a couch set up & fire pit. Great place for star gazing. The road up to it was a little rough but wasn’t anything crazy to prevent us from having a bad experience at all; Easy to do with our Subaru. We loved our stay & would definitely book again if back in the area.

Great private site. Todd was super friendly and welcomed us even though we got in late! The port o potties are clean and I liked having our own propane grill, trash can and fire pit at the site! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Our stay here was lovely! The site was as described, and had everything we needed for our “base camp” for exploring the park. Beautiful sunsets and star gazing!

This is such an amazing place to camp! It’s so close to the park entrance, and there are plenty of great rocks around the campsites to climb. Todd was very helpful and accommodating. He lent us some JT hiking books and gave good recommendations on the park and surrounding area.

Very close to the the entrance to the park and also not to far from the town. Great natural desert campsites set against a small mountain back drop. Would absolutely come back again!

Awesome site to stay at near the park entrance. Lots of amenities and very clean restrooms. Todd dropped by to meet us and was awesome to chat with, especially if you're a climber.

Staying with Todd and Andrea was amazing. There location is accommodating and quiet. There was a porta-john, fire pit, some fire wood, some chairs, and running water. Todd was super friendly and answered all our questions about climbing, camping, or anything in the area. 5/5 I would recommend staying here!

Great spot! Todd was very accommodating and the campsite lived up to its promise. Luckily it was not too hot or windy, which tends to make or break a desert camping trip. The surrounding land was fun to explore, and the night by the campfire was sublime. I really liked what Todd was doing with the spot, which had something for everyone. Next time I might stay in the permanent tent and leave the camping gear at home. It’s an awesome experience either way!

Awesome location and set up! You're less than 10 min from the park, and a short drive into town. The campsite itself is great, host provided a fire pit and even some wood! Awesome sunsets and sunrises, amazing stargazing! The best thing is all the wildlife you can see. Surprisingly great birding, I saw a few spring migratory birds like orioles and warblers, tons of the local hawks, jays, quail, thrashers, and even an owl! Hosts are very responsive if you have any questions or needs, and very knowledgeable if you want to know more about the area. I definitely will be staying here again next time I visit Joshua Tree :)

The pros to this site are that its close to the west entrance of the park, the site itself was very well maintained, and the vegetation was nice for campsite photos.
The cons are that there is little privacy on the site as you do have neighbors nearby and the site itself is in a neighborhood. The grill for cooking was misleading as it was more of just a wire fire pit cover and didn’t really support the food put on it.

The stay was amazing. Todd was a great host, stopping by and checking in to see if anything was needed. Site was well taken care of, and had everything we need to accommodate the two tents and our gear. Fire dish was nice with the cover to keep things inside while the wind blew, allowing us to enjoy a nice fire on a chilly night. Stars were amazing with no light around at all. Will definitely book again the next time we plan a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. Thank you!

I drove down from San Francisco for a night under the stars in Joshua Tree and got just that. Had no trouble finding the place. Todd came out to greet me and point me to all the whereabouts. It’s a good place for groups and for rolling solo. I’d come back.

Todd and Andrea are amazing hosts! Todd comes by to check on everyone, and he is a climbing guide who wrote a book about sport climbing routes in JT, so he'd be a great person to talk to if you're on a climbing trip. He warned us there was some high wind coming, but we left our tent up for the day anyway and when we came back it had totally blown over and the poles were bent. We thought we'd have to sleep in our car, but Todd and Andrea let us stay in the trailer they just set up on the property (look for that listing if you don't want to tent camp, it's very cute) for two nights instead of at our campsite. It totally saved our trip to Joshua Tree, and we were so touched by how thoughtful they were. The campsite was great before the bad weather, it's very secluded and feels a lot like being in the park. The location is close to the entrance and this is a great alternative if the park campsites are full.

We are very lucky to have gotten an opening at this awesome Hipcamp. Todd and Andrea are such nice hosts. The campsite was set up nice with sonar lights to guide you down the path to the open area with a wooden bench and fire pit. The hosts gave us clear directions to the campsite. The area was very clean. The bathrooms (porta potties) were some of the cleanest I’ve ever used. There was portable water and hand washing station. It was nice and quiet. There is a couple of other sites on this property but everyone respects distance and wears masks while near the common bathroom area. We were able to see the stars at night and enjoyed having the fire pit.
We hope to stay here again.
