Sanctuary at Sonoita Creek

I’m leaving this review not to say it was bad, but to balance all the perfect reviews that had me opt for it. It wasn’t perfect. Overall it was fine and what we needed with its great location and hookups. But it was smaller, thus more on top of other campers, than I realized it would be. And just serving a lot of people with the “cabins” in addition to the campsites made it busier than expected. The cars coming and going, seemingly constantly, took away from any vibe that could’ve existed. And frequently barking dogs were a little bit of a bummer. No one thing was a problem, but the combination of those things made it not the experience we expected. Again, though, the location was great, in town and very near trails for hiking and biking. Never needed to drive while there for two nights. Great breakfast place - ate there both mornings (Gathering Ground, or something). Pub (Patagonia Lumber Co?) and wine place (Queen of something) made for a great night out. The hookups were solid. We didn’t use the shower or laundry, but those would be a plus for anyone needing that.

Camping in Patagonia

Our 30' rig fit perfectly in this spot & plenty of room parked nicely next to our friends. Amenities were perfect and a bit of surprise. Didn't think an outside shower would be anything special. It was a delight to find it. Really enjoyed the proximity to town, the hummingbird sanctuary and lots of hiking. Overall, perfect in every way! Thank you!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Our stay was not typical, as we had a medical emergency and Melanie, Melody, and Gina went above and beyond to accommodate us. Lovely spot with great amenities. Highly recommend!

We spend 12 days it was super convenient to walk to the store and restaurants, right behind us there was great dog walk plus well know bird watching sanctuary. Outside showers are awesome idea ! Clean toilet and laundry makes for this rustic perfect place to camp with your rv. Manager was very nice and helpful! If you looking for place where you can do hiking , walking or gravel cycling right out of the camp this is for you !

Full hookups, close to town and free laundry a big plus. Everything was very clean and quiet. We love Patagonia and my husband loves the gravel rides in this area.

Peaceful In Patagonia

My wife and I spent three nights at this small but impeccable location. It t was quiet, walking distance to town and many things to do (hiking, mountain/gravel biking, birding and relaxing.

Great Christmas Trip!

Beautiful spot to camp in an amazing community. Our hosts and neighbors were all friendly, caring, and welcoming. The campsites were nice and tidy, the bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities were all in great shape. Patagonia is small, but the campsite is an easy walk to the main street. We only moved our vehicle once to start a bike route. Highly recommend!!

Fabulous, convenient spot! Walkable to town and the the Paton Center for hummingbirds. I biked about 12 miles down Blue Haven road. It was awesome. The property is quiet, and very neat and clean, Joni, the camp host, is very friendly and happy to assist. I’m going back!

A slice of Patagonia Heaven

This was a little slice of heaven in Patagonia. I've never stayed at a hipcamp this charming and perfect. From the outdoor shower (heaven after a long day of riding) to the quiet, to the laundry facilities, I can't think of how Melanie (and Joanie) could have made this haven any better. 20/10. We're already planning a trip back in the spring!

Lovely but noisy

This campsite was lovely. Very small and nice shade and great location. The bathroom and outdoor shower was lovely!! The only drawback was the noise. I was in a tent, which probably allowed me to hear everything. If you are in an RV I'm sure it would be better. Dogs barking all the time and some road noise. Worst part was someone in the camp in a random huge black tent (not in a site but right by the bathroom) was playing strange audio books loudly all night - like 11, 2, 3 4 am. And the constant marajuna smell from their tent was unpleasant. I was supposed to stay 2 nights but couldn't bear the thought of having to listen to their audio book about America's Empire all night, so I left early. I'm sure it was just some strange visitor, but that should not be allowed.

This is a quiet place surrounded by tall trees filled with birdsong. This great location features a wonderful outdoor shower and clean restroom. It was a great place to stay and stage for our gravel bike adventure.

Always a great peaceful place to stay. Plenty of tall trees provide shade and makes you feel you are miles from nowhere, yet you are only a couple blocks to the Main Street.

Such an amazing place, we loved our stay. Shade over the RV, wonderful outdoor shower, walking distance to Paton's center for hummingbirds, as well as all the shops and restaurants Patagonia has to offer. The other cabins/trailers are brightly painted greens, oranges and blues, and the whole place just has the cutest, most charming, and relaxing vibe you can imagine. 12 out of 10 stars. Friendly, responsive and flexible. Previously we stayed in the Retro, and loved it, but this time we had our own trailer. We stayed at Patagonia lake for a few days first, but if I had to do it over again I would have spent the whole time at the Sanctuary.

We love this quiet, shaded, clean and safe place!! We always enjoy our time here!! There is a friendly little bar just down the street and a very good pizza place, on the Main Street, Velvet Elvis. We’ll definitely be back!

Best Ever

Oh my goodness! Where to start with this incredible campground? Our favorite Hipcamp stop ever! Nice big sites, free laundry facilities, outdoor shower, free bikes and kayaks, and a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop deck with nice views! Quiet and so close to town and an outstanding bird sanctuary. Within walking distance! We will FOR SURE be back again! Thank you!
