Ron has a great set up with full hookups if you need them .. he's an excellent host, warm, welcoming and anxious to please .. fire pit, tables, chairs .. peaceful and serene location .. I highly recommend a visit to Sadie's Retreat..

Sadie's Retreat
I made the booking for Sadie's Retreat last minute and it was such an amazing decision. Ron was incredibly accommodating and welcoming to us. He had everything we needed. He even built our campfire for us and made sure we were comfortable! We only stayed one night and we wish we had booked more! We also got to meet the precious namesake Sadie. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet and safe place to camp out!

Ron was great! Very accommodating. He made sure to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. This was in a awesome location, just miles from Saguaro National Park. We visited at sunset and it was beautiful. Ron had a nice spot for us to park our car with a rooftop tent. The fire pit was great. He made sure we had a enough wood to replenish the fire. We enjoyed this stay! Even brought us coffee and donuts in the morning.

We needed a last-minute place to camp, and was impressed by all of Ron's reviews. We were welcomed by a beautiful sunset, cute dogs, and a great story of how Ron designed and built the property. He even built us a fire and brought us coffee and doughnuts in the morning! Clean, well-equipped property, so it was easy to sleep in the car (tho Ron had set up a tent spot for us as well).
It's rare to meet new, cool people in these times, but I'm thankful Hipcamp brought us to Ron! Such a lovely evening and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Tucson. 5 stars.

We only use hipcamp to seek out unique stays that have a lot of charm and character. This place did not disappoint on either front. Sadie’s is clearly a labor of love and Ron is the best kind of character. He was available to help us find his place, connect our van to his full hook-up site, and even ran out to harvest fire wood for us. AND... he filled up the hot tub for us!

I chose Sadie’s retreat last minute for a new year’s getaway. Ron was very accommodating of some last minute changes and personally helped us find the spot in the dark with a mesquite wood bonfire waiting for us. The spot was perfect for our short bus, the fire was perfect, the available bathroom options were luxurious for a camp site, with Ron even offering to get the hot tub going right as we arrived. Ron made us coffee & hot chocolate in the morning, above & beyond! Would recommend and may well be repeat customers. Thanks Ron!

The kids did not want to leave! As soon as we arrived they said "why can't we stay another night?". Free range kids paradise complete with a trampoline. We didn't know what to expect as it was a last minute resi but a VERY unique and interesting place to crash for a night.

The space was clean with a lot of nice features for campers. fire pit, wood, tables, access to warm shower, and comfy seating.
There was a bit or road noise from the busy highway and neighborhood dogs, otherwise very good.

Ron was an amazing host and really nice guy. The property was fun, clean and my family had a great time enjoying the trampoline and playground area. We got in late and he accommodated us in his camper which was very cozy, I slept like a rock after the long drive in. We will definitely book again next time we visit.

We stayed at Sadie’s Retreat for four nights in February 2020. We couldn’t find anywhere to park our travel trailer, and found this place and booked it within an hour of arriving.
Ron was gracious and accommodated our last minute arrival with ease. We had full hook ups, it was quiet, safe, comfortable, and we were able to come and go as we pleased.
The hot tub wasn’t functioning during our stay.

Ron is an awesome host. Very warm and engaging and willing to please. Stayed in the 5th wheel on property and loved it. The place was clean and convenient for the places we wanted to go. Will definitely comeback again.

Ron and Denise were beyond accommodating!! We didn’t give them much notice but they were extremely welcoming and helped us get set up. We had a great stay on their property and our kids were never bored. The grounds were filled with great activities, play areas, and campground amenities that made our stay easy and fun. It was a free-range kids’ dreamland. :)
We spent the day at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, at Denise’s suggestion, and had a blast!
We tried out the RV and it was very well kept and roomy. It was clean and modern and a very comfy place to stay. The bed was super comfy btw!
A great family friendly place to stay. Thank you for a great weekend!

Sadie's Retreat
Ron was an incredible host! He was incredibly warm and invited us into his house and yard like we were family. We fell in love with sweet Sadie, the namesake for the place. Ron has done an impressive job with the area, he has a flourish for unique art and he yard contains such treasures such as cacti skeletons and incredible antiques. There are many treasures such as an outdoor kitchen, hot tub, horseshoes, and a grill area with wonderful seating. We enjoyed every second staying with him and would be back in a heartbeat!

We go to Tucson each year for the gem and mineral show - finding good camping options is difficult - Catalina SP is usually booked out; Gilbert Ray doesn't take reservations and doesn't allow campfires; the private campgrounds are crowded, We pull a 32' 5th wheel with a DRW RAM truck.
Sadie's Retreat was the perfect answer! Quiet, private, plenty of room at the campsite, and we could have a fire (we used our portable fire pit but there is a large fire pit onsite about 50' or so from the RV spot).
Ron was very accommodating - it was a bit tight to get into the site - he moved things and is doing further improvements (we were his 1st guests). There is electrical 30 or 50 amp, water, a large hot tub. We didn't try the wifi but used Verizon hotspot (2 bars LTE) and that worked fine. We stayed 5 nights and would go back.
It was rainy most of time we were there - else, we had planned to ride our mtn bikes on state lands just to the south.
Ron also has a 5th wheel for rent on site which would be a great option if you are travelling with someone else, or meeting someone in Tucson.
