Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! My 8 acre private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. Are you grown ups who don't want to be next to kids yelling and running around dropping trash and throwing rocks, or barking pit bulls chained up, or loud music and generators? Do you like a clean restroom and a nice breakfast area on a well maintained property? Do you want to feel safe, enjoy beautiful views and know your stuff won't be stolen while you are in Tombstone? Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You MUST arrive by dark unless arrangements are made in advance. I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

Karla's Hummingbird Ranch has additional camping spaces for tents, vehicles etc. that don't require an RV hook-up. I have lots of room. There is a cabana with a firepit for all to use. You may camp there if you like. I have a nice restroom microwave, coffee table and fridge in the garage off the pool area. This is a private 8+ acre horse property with a barn and an arena. The pool area has a pool house for poolside dining. This property is for people who enjoy tranquillity. Dogs must be on a leash. The camping area is dirt.  It is quiet and peaceful. Very clean. Solo women campers- this is a safe non-creepy place to camp. My ranch has a friendly/family-style vibe. This is my private property, you and your stuff are safe and secure. You can go exploring for the day and no one will bother your campsite. There is no power out by the cabanas. There is power in the garage and pool area. There is no shower or laundry. There is a Planet Fitness in Sierra Vista, they have showers. I have WiFi and great cell service here also. You must arrive by dark. I will close the gates at dark. If you would like to plan a friends/family private camping gathering contact me and I can add a couple of extra spaces to accommodate you.  You possibly can have the place to yourselves. Each vehicle and/or tent and campers is a separate site. I am off Hwy 82, there is some hwy traffic noise.  It's a high desert/prairie. 4200 ft elevation. Be aware that this area gets approx 22" of rain, mostly during summer. Beautiful storms, lots of lightning. It is hot and humid and buggy if it's an above-average monsoon season.  June-High 94. Site 4 is a 16 x 14 tent shelter, there is room inside for a large tent, or you can use it as a bedroom and skip the tent. There is a picnic table, benches and shelves. The front has closeable sunshade curtains. It is lit at night with solar cabana lights which can be shut off for sleep. It's very pretty, it is decorated inside with a western theme. There is hardware inside for a hammock. The outside is handpainted salvage barn wood. I made this cabana myself. Your campsite will have full shelter from weather. You can park your vehicle next to it and camp inside, or you can camp in your vehicle and use the cabana for gathering and dining. Easy walk to the restroom and pool area. I have hotwater and power in the garage restroom area, no shower. There is a Planet Fitness in Sierra Vista, they have showers. This cabana does not have power. Music provided by resident birds. This is my private property, you and your stuff are safe and secure. You can go exploring for the day and no one will bother your campsite. I have WiFi and great cell service. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily as well as Desert Cardinals, Cactus Wrens, Curved Billed Thrashers and song birds. You will hear coyotes at night. You might see javilina, rabbits, maybe a bobcat! The road is also quiet. I am off Hwy 82, there is some hwy traffic noise. My property is natural on 3 sides. Site 5- The Pool House

The Pool House is available for guests who want an inside shelter. It is 10 x 10 with 2 windows and French doors. The windows and doors have privacy blinds and locks. Bring your own bed or let me know you will need a bed and I will have a full size bed set up for you for a $10.00 fee. There is a heater and power. There is room for one cot/air mattress leaving the table and 2 chairs inside, or the table and chairs can easily be removed to accommodate 2 cots/air mattresses. It is close to the restroom and breakfast area and you can enjoy the beautiful pool views. There is an outlet for charging electronics etc. Lighting is desk lamp. The garage has a restroom, hot water, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. No dogs in the pool house. You must arrive by dark. I will close the gates at dark.

Site 7-Garden Guest Bed Room

A beautiful guest room facing the front gardens. This is a guest room inside of my house, Hipcamp doesn't have an option for adding a guest room, I had to choose Cabin for the type of lodging, it's not a cabin. It has a queen-size bed, a vanity with a lighted mirror and tables. The closet has shelves. It sits down the hall from the guest bath. There is a separate entrance door for the guest rooms, that entrance is off the pool area. The guest rooms have a living room adjacent for their use. There is no TV. There is WiFi. I have 2 tabby house cats which came from a rescue in May of this year, 2024. They are inside cats, they are well-mannered. They are yearlings, they play a lot and are very friendly. The cats are not allowed in the guest rooms or guest bath, they have their own room for their stuff. I keep them and their room, and the whole house very clean. Take note if you don't like cats or are allergic. Because of the cats no pets are allowed for guest room guests. Guests staying inside the house can use the laundry, and I will have breakfast coffee and coffee cake available. Please no smoking inside the house. This room is larger than the other room, there is plenty of room for 2 people. You must arrive by dark. My place will be closed at dark.

A beautiful guest room off the pool. This is a guest room inside of my house, Hipcamp doesn't have an option for adding a guest room, I had to choose Cabin for the type of lodging, it's not a cabin. Site 3-The Shady Rest for tents
This was my first time using HipCamp and boy, does Karla set the bar high. The property speaks for itself, attention to detail everywhere, very clean property and very well organized and thought out. Treated us with a community fire pit, got to make some new camp friends along the way. Restroom was super convenient and clean, the tent site allowed us to have a covered gazebo over us for added warmth and comfort. Overall a 5-star experience and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Oh, and Reba the donkey is super friendly and loves ear scritches in the morning 😁

Karla’s land was open, clean, and very easy to move around in. It really shows that she takes great care of her property, and the structures she has built are wonderfully creative! ( to call them sheds does not seem appropriate:-) Her property is gated, and I felt very comfortable and safe there.

Karla’s place is as good as it gets, very clean and the set up was great, easy access to camp spots with electric and water at a convenient location. The facilities were top notch, next to the bathroom there’s your own private room with everything you need for a great stay, amenities were the best, pool access, pool house with table and chairs and the decoration throughout were great. Karla is the best, she treated us like we were family. When we go her way again we will definitely use her Hipcamp!!

Karla place was a fantastic surprise. We stayed at site 3 "The shady rest" for 3 nights, placed our tent outside and turned the shelter into our kitchen / dining setup. Kara's space is a work of art, tranquility and relaxation. She is a lovley and attentive host, provided us with everything we needed.

Wow! This was a lovely location and Karla has gone above and beyond to make this place special for those who stay with her. She is quite an artist. We enjoyed the pool, and visiting the donkeys and we slept well as it was very quiet. We will be back and hope to make this an annual visit.

Loved it so much here. Can’t wait to be back. It stormed heavy throughout the night and Karla’s shelter kept us perfectly dry! Grooming the donkeys was definitely the highlight though. Thanks so much for another great experience!

Karla is great. Knowledgeable about the area and local events. Her place is amazing ly beautiful and very private. Wo nderful.place to just relax and take in some great views and AZ sunsets. Enjoyed our stay and we will be back. Our go to place for some peace and quiet. I highly recommend for anyone needing to unwind. The patio and pool area is perfect day and night with her lighting. It's a ranch that feels like an oasis. And it's located in the heart of many attractions so it makes a great hub for places like tucson tombstone, and sonoita

Everything on Karla's property is gorgeous. Karla is a wonderful host . The room we stayed in was incredibly cute, and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable we both slept really well. The pool area is gorgeous and after the sun goes down there are really pretty lights all over the yards. We happened to be the only guests while we were there so we got to explore all the different spots she has. All of them are just so well done. I would recommend all of the different areas Karla has!

The mountain views were amazing. Full hookups were very convenient. Karla was very nice and my kids enjoyed grooming and exercising the horses. There were several amazing spaces guests can use… A coffee room and pool bathroom. The beautiful pool with amazing lighting for nighttime swimming. A cute little pool house with seating. A covered picnic area and a few other unique hang out spots. Very highly recommend!

1000/10- wow. Everything we needed and more. Karla is such a caring and considerate host with a magical place to share. My dog and I booked as a last minute self care getaway. Upon our arrival, the sun was still up and I already saw the magic: the horses, the donkey, the quaint sleeping area, the rocking swings, the pool area!! But then the sun went down and all the colorful lights turned on! I was so relaxed and happy that I fell asleep on my yoga mat outside in the dirt at 9pm - in the middle of yoga! I took myself to bed and slept so peacefully to dessert nightlife and horse sounds. The sun rises in the direction the camp faces- I was woken up so gently by the first signs of light and proceeded to finish my yoga sesh. Spent the morning contemplating life on the hammock and visiting with the breathtaking horses and donkey. I cannot express how much I needed this and how thankful I am to have had this experience at the hummingbird ranch🤍

This location is AMAZING. Karla has done a wonderful job developing her land, and is such an amazing welcoming host. She met me rolling in, showed me where to park, gave me the lay of the land and THEN, when I discovered some inside-the-camper damage (door stripped from wood frame d/t road vibrations) allowed me to walk through her massive tool garage to get everything I needed to fix it. I told her I'd likely be leaving very early, and she was up waving g goodbye as I was leaving at 5am! She try cares about her space, as well as her guests. And be warned, her pool is COLD! I expected it to be desert sun warmed, but it was uber refreshing! Thank you, so much, Karla, for everything.

What an amazing night we had at Karla’s. We stayed in the pool house and it was perfect. Karla’s attention to detail is outstanding. The pool was so clean and the garden and lights made the night magical. Everything was so clean and comfortable and Karla made sure we had everything we needed. The price was great for what was available. The shared kitchen was great and bathroom spotless. Clear to see that Karla puts so much love into this property and we feel lucky to have explored her beautiful land. Just the flowers alone would make us return. This was a perfect stay and I would recommend it 100 percent. Amazing!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karla’s, I honestly don’t think it could have been better. If we weren’t en route to a wedding, we would have stayed longer than one night. We will visit again at some point. We were doing some wine tasting and just generally driving around the Elgin area as we’ve been through before but never stopped. Glad we stopped and beyond glad we met Karla and got to enjoy her sanctuary.

Host is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Explains everything well on arrival. It’s a nice lil horse ranch with great sunsets. Pool area is immaculately kept. Bathroom is easily accessible and shower is clean with good water pressure. It is windier down there so we kept a 4 man tent inside. More than enough space to leave the table in and cook still. Great place for stop thru’s or long weekend. Well lit at night if safety is a concern of yours.

The property is beautiful and the host is lovely. I had planned to stay for a day and ended up staying 2. The pictures do not do it justice.

Bird watchers visiting Sky Islands

Site 3-The Shady Rest for tents
Karla's place is ideally situated for anyone birdwatching in the sky islands region. Karla has a great set up for campers. We used the Cabana which got us out of the wind and parked our camper van next to it which was really convenient. The use of the pool and kitchen area was really handy. Karla is warm and generous and I would highly recommend staying at her place.

Karla met us as we drove on to her property to introduce herself and she immediately made us feel welcome. Once we got our camp set up she showed us around the property. We loved meeting her horses and donkey. Our group had the whole camping area to ourselves. Everything was clean and tidy. The lights around the property in the evening are beautiful. You can tell that Karla has meticulously placed every light, lantern, planter, and decor items. We will definitely return.

Carla‘s ranch was very lovely and she is a host is very friendly and welcoming. Her property is gorgeous and you can tell she’s fit a lot of time and to making it pretty.. very close by or two other RV parks that are just big parking. Lots in the RVs are very close to each other, but you turn into her place in the spaces are wide and open and her price is great as well. I would highly recommend Karla’s Hummingbird Ranch to anyone looking for a unique spot~~

We loved our time at Karla's Hummingbird Ranch. The site was easy to access. The property was phenomenal. Karla was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a weekend of relaxing and exploring. It was the perfect get a way for this teacher to rejuvenate for the final month of school. We hope to visit again soon. This was our first trip with our new camper and we hope there will be many more.

Karla’s Hummingbird will be at the top of my favorite places to stay. I hope she doesn’t get sick of us. Even with bad weather it was part of the experience. She's a great host and we can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed at Karla’s Hipcamp for two nights and throughly enjoyed ourselves. I enjoyed several refreshing dips is the pool and my husband and I bird watched from her front porch in the early evening! The grounds are delightful with Karla’s many artistic creations and arrangements.
