Meadview Arizona was founded in 1826 by Jedediah Smith on his Southwest Expedition in search for Beaver! Staying a small remote and quiet town it can feel like it would have in the Wild West. We obtained our campground from a couple that owned it for 20 years but just weren't able to do to it what they had originally planned.. So it was essentially a blank canvas for us to create!!  We are the closest town to the Grand Canyon SKYWALK, which is just 40 minutes from us. Meadview, the town we are located, is the only place to obtain Free Entree to the Lake Mead Recreational Center.  Our Campground just 10 miles from Lake Mead and 17 Miles from the Colorado River.  We have outstanding Lookouts, Top notch Stargazing, Gold Prospecting, Bird Watching, Fishing, Off Roading etc. Some of the Best Desert Off-Roading through trails within the Joshua Tree National Forest, Please note you must bring your own OHV, horse, etc, there is currently no rentals available.  We do have Kayaks to rent upon arrival. There is a hidden water fall in the Grapevine Wash that you can get to with a 4 wheel vehicle and you hike in about 15 minutes in. Stunning views and gorgeous natural spring and waterfall. We are 45 minutes off the 93 Freeway Free WIFI provided at the office!..  The town doesn't always have a powerful signal, please keep that in mind in your travels.  However, if you have Verizon, it gets GREAT service! There are three restaurants in town, all just one mile from site... The Boathouse, Anchor Smokehouse and Fishermans Landing Bar.  We have a Bakery called Rosemary and Thyme that serves Delicious foods & Pastries and makes great coffees.  There is also a Gas n Grub that has ice, propane etc... 5 miles away is a Family Dollar store which we lovingly call the "Mall of Meadview"

Stay in our Historic Mini Motel Room. 4, which is called Route.66 because of the origination of this building. This specific room a Queen sized beds with 4" gel memory foam bed topper. Full bathroom with shower, tub, toilette, sink and vanity. Closet Space, a TV, Dresser and blackout drapes. This little piece of history was originally used to house the workers of Route. 66. We ripped up the floors, cleaned it up and remodeled to deliver a comfortable and clean space to stay with wild west vibe, while keeping the charm of the original building. Views of the grand was cliff from your room! Just a 45 minute trip from the Skywalk, 10 miles from Lake Mead, 17 miles from the Colorado River and plenty of Rural Desert site seeing all around. Wild horses, cows and coyotes may roam the surrounding land. We are Located in Meadview, a Charming remote town in the middle of the Mohave Desert. Walk from the campground to check out the sites or go further and Ride ENDLESS OHV's (Must bring your own OHV) on Endless trails through the Grand Wash, Find the hidden Grapevine Spring waterfalls with any vehicle with 4 wheel drive. Ride through Joshua Tree national forrest, then head to the Lake to go boating, fishing, or just take a dip to cool off!! We are in the heart of it all!! Note, we do not have OHV Rentals onsite, we recommend you bring your own to experience the full beauty Meadview has to offer. But if you enjoy to just chill and take it all in, you don't even have to leave the campsite to achieve that.! What a hidden gem of a spot to camp with family! If you’re looking for a place to set up camp near the Skywalk at Grand Canyon definitely check out Happy Trails. Keep an eye on the weather, the roads can get a bit mushy on your way in and out. I would definitely stay here again :)

This spot is a little run down and could maybe use a little update. I stayed in #4 and the bed was so loud every time I moved, it actually kept me up all night. The door didn't lock, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable and the road I took to get there was pretty rough terrain for a motorcycle (but doable). Everything else was alright though and there's a really good restaurant in town with excellent food, which the hotel recommended with a menu in the room. The camp manager was super nice and had coffee going in the morning. All in all, I would probably stay here again. It's a great location with a lot of potential.

RV Camping -Happy Trails Campground
We really enjoyed our stay at Happy Trails and plan on returning. It’s super close to Grand Canyon, host was flexible and understanding to our needs. There’s picnic benches and firepits at each site. Woke up to bunnies hopping around and the camp manager has a friendly dog (Willow) that greeted us. There’s shade, real bathrooms, the cutest little office with books.

On The Road Again - Desert Getaway
Host was very accommodating, allowed me to show up later than check in and leave before official check out time. Place was clean and I was able to have a comfy place to sleep for the night after a long drive.

Amazing place! So quiet, and off the beaten track. Exactly what we were looking for. The stars, the stars in the sky is like nothing you’ve ever seen. Just to sit outside, listening to the quiet hum of insects is what this place delivers to you. With an amazing view of the canyon! Would 100% recommend. Very rural so watch out if this isn’t for you. Thanks for letting us stay!

The Modern Glamper in the Desert
We got in late, therefore it was pitch dark but wasn't hard to find the RV and the site was well maintained and comfortable! We had a good night's rest and no issues. Would definitely stay there again in the near future! The only thing I'd say really is to have a mattress topper for extra comfort (only my personal opinion) but overall it was still amazing!

The Majestic - Desert Getaway
It was conveniently close to the Grand Canyon west rim, since we were going to the Skywalk and it was canceled due to weather we needed a last minute place to stay. The bed was comfy and the place was very quiet.

It was wonderful to camp at this place! We originally reserved a tent site but it was too hot to camp with our dog. Thankfully Samantha and Dave helped me to upgrade to a mini hotel room (glamping) on site. Thank you so much! The water pressure for shower was very strong and enjoyable. Beautiful and safe camp ground. Highly recommended!

RV Camping -Happy Trails Campground
Apparently they don’t like when you reserve via Hipcamp at this location. Arrived and was promptly told that we were in the wrong spot, site 7. And when I proceeded to tell the man I had a reservation he told me there is no site 7. And come to find out they already gave my “site” to someone else the night before. Very confusing system and not sure why you would give away someone’s reservation site when they prepaid for the spot. Also had reserved an RV spot for the use of electricity and that didn’t work either. Nor did it have the right plug in. Bathrooms were less than desired as for privacy it was just a shower curtain. I’ve never had this much of an issue with any bookings before ever and is Hipcamp all over and in various states.

Quirky in a beautiful location
Wild & Free - Desert Getaway
Very unique accommodation in an absolutely gorgeous and quite remote spot. I stayed in the mini motel, which was quirky. I liked it, just not sure it's worth the price they charge. There is very little cell service and the wifi is spotty so be prepared for that. I didn't really meet the hosts until coffee the next morning, at least I think it was the host. He was nice.

The Farmhouse.. Desert Glamping
The glamper was cozy but not cramped. We really loved the layout of the area with the common area & office being right infront of us. Everything we needed was within a few miles, and there were a lot of things to check out nearby. The location is quiet and feels safe, Dave is so nice & knowledgeable about the area. Samantha was always available by message, and was so helpful when we needed directions. Will definitely be staying here again soon!

The tent camping area was amazing! Views for days! Our family and our two dogs had a great time. We look forward to renting the tent spots or a RV spot in the future. Thank you so much for having such clean bathrooms and a very safe property :-) highly recommended for people looking for a mountain view with a clean bathroom and shower.

Everything. I didn't stay it was very smelly and unappealing. The pictures are very misleading. The mini motel is a single wide made into 4 extremely small rooms. Just the smell when they opened the door was enough for me!

I absolutely loved the property! Everything was secluded and that outdoor shower was a MUST! The rain has dug out a couple deep trenches on your way there, so drive safe. All I. All, 10 outta 10.

Happy Trails was a fantastic place to camp. We spent 3 days/nights and the mountain and night sky views are incredible. The grounds, showerhouse and laundry area are clean and easily accesible. There is a small playground with swings and tire hurdles plus a tetherball pole and a mini jailhouse which my kids loved. The host is very friendly and offered info about the area as well as several points of interest which we gladly accepted. We would definitely stay again.
