Site is outside of Tuscon, AZ, and the price, hookups, level ground, location all worked very well for us and our Casita Liberty travel trailer. Propane available just down the road, and besides Tuscon, other attractions like Sonora Desert Museum are not far. There are round tail ground squirrels just 30 feet off the site. They look and act like prairie dogs, just much smaller!

We had a wonderful stay. Peaceful, quiet surroundings about 20 minutes from Saguaro National Park. There was a little street noise, but nothing bothersome.
Jeff was great to communicate with - always responsive. The spot is easy to find; however, if you're in a large 5th wheel like we have, the entrance is tight coming in and particularly exiting due to the right turn that's required to exit and the fence post - we had inches to clear due to the tail swing. The dirt road from the main road to the spot is not bad at all if you go slowly.
Although the site says it can accommodate large RVs it did require that we back in, and thankfully, we had long enough power, sewer, and water hoses to reach the FHU connections. With a 44' 5th wheel and wanting to be positioned to pull out when ready to leave, it did require some maneuvering. Water pressure is a little light, but who cares! Did I mention this spot has FHUs!
Sunsets were spectacular, and there was tons of outdoor space. We were treated to a fantastic lightning show one night. Would definitely go back!

I stayed for about 10 days - tent camping. Also stayed in an RV for 4 months 3 years ago at this site. I love this spot. Very clean and private. Wonderful hosts. Wonderful location next to Saguaro National Park and close to shopping and services. One of my favorite camping spots in the country!

Full hookups in a quiet desert setting. You can't beat it. Great sunsets every night, with an occasional hooting owl. It may be 20 mins from the mass of civilivation, but plenty of good hiking is close by... Would certianly stay again.

Great place on a piece of property in the middle of nowhere. There are distant mountains to the east and west and some nice trees and bushes surrounding the site.
There are neighbors 100 yards away but you have plenty of privacy. Beautiful stars and a distant lightning storm the night we were there

We enjoyed several weeks here. The dirt road getting in wasn’t too far from the main road and it was easy to access. It’s a big space with plenty of room to back up our 30’ travel trailer, even with not much experience. Jeff promptly replied to our questions during the end of our stay re: possible trip modifications. Overall, it was a very nice spot and mostly quiet. There was a neighbor that liked loud music every once in a while and some road noise but it was minimal.
The only other thing to note that we missed in the listing is you need to dispose of your garbage and recycling. Also, there are many off leash dogs if you get over a mile down the dirt road from the campsite. There are 4 that chase you that are relatively friendly/excited and there is one extremely aggressive one that will also chase you with its leash still attached (this happened many times so we stopped running/walking around the area).

This place was amazing. It was easy to find and very private. The sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. At night the stars were bright and the owls were hooting. Saw a couple coyotes walking by in the morning.

We really enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle. The only side note is the bushes along the road coming into the site are a bit over grown so it's really tight driving in if you don't want to scratch your vehicle or camper and the road is pretty bumpy but still very worth the seclusion.

I had a great stay! Beautiful surroundings and right down the road from the national park. It was fairly quiet and private. The drive coming in was kind of tight because of the plants but it is the outdoors.
I will say that I read the site type wrong and had to back in alone for the first time, but it was great practice, with no audience like at a campground, and I was able to get it done.
Sunsets and sunrises are beautiful here, my camera roll is full of pictures. Plenty of space outside for working out on the property in the morning.
Perfect spot for my first time in Arizona. Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at Site 1 at Desert Getaway in Avra Valley and loved it. My wife and I, plus our pup, really enjoyed the private, sizeable space. It’s very quiet at night with great stargazing. Location is spot on too - about 35 min to Tucson and 15 min to Saguaro National Park. Hookups were solid and easy to use. We’ll definitely be back!

FH campsite. We stayed at Site 1 for about 4days in August 2025. 50amp connection, you need to have an adapter if your camper is a 30amp or 20amp. We love the place, so peaceful. AC is a must when staying in summertime.

Very Rustic but with hookups

NOTE: Electricity hookup is 50 amp only. Make sure you bring an adapter if you’re 20 or 30 amp. Area is rural with a mix of site built and mobile homes, single wides. Older area and pretty quiet.
Our travel trailer is only 20 ft so for the most part we leave the dining area in “bed mode “. Host furnished a picnic table which was a great help. DOG OWNERS: please dispose of dog poop. Don’t leave it lying around for flies to breed in. We haven’t been disappointed dogs but always take care of our pooch poo.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The spot was private and peaceful, offering a nice sense of seclusion while still being conveniently close to a paved road—no rough dirt trails to get in or out. All the hookups worked perfectly, and the desert scenery was absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset.
The only minor downside was occasional noise from nearby trucks and planes, but it wasn't enough to take away from the overall experience. If you're looking for a quiet desert retreat with hookups, this is a great choice!
