Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Learn more about this land: Campers can hike the property and may catch glimpse of domestic ducks who live on the 2-acre pond. Occasional blue herons and white egrets frequent the water and wild geese have been sighted on the pond. The camping area is very quiet and accessible by single controlled-access road. Long-horned cattle are in nearby pasture and 3 horses and a donkey are nearby in another pasture. Campsite is about a 15-minute drive from the small city of Andalusia, Alabama with various shopping and dining venues. I would like to thank William and Diane for such great hospitality. Their camp is a great place to have a quiet relaxing weekend. Will definitely be back!

Once you get parked your good. Navigating the drive and washed out road was a challenge. Other than that not bad.

I had a fantastic stay at the Back Forty. William is a very responsive, accommodating and kind host and his property is lovely and serene. As a woman traveling alone I felt very safe and comfortable here. I highly recommend camping at William's spot and I would happily come back on my next Alabama adventure.

Quiet night for mom and dad
Back Forty Camping
As hipcamp hosts ourselves, we were excited to stay at a fellow hipcamper's property! William is coming along nicely on his property, and I think campers will enjoy being in a secluded setting about 19 minutes from downtown Andalusia. We pulled a 30 ft airstream in without much trouble. We did have to kick in 4-wheel drive to get out, up the sandy terrace. Smaller trailers may not have an issue with a 2WD vehicle. We enjoyed watching the pond's resident duck, see wild geese fly overhead and star gaze at night. It was a nice, quiet night for us parents to get away before the new year rolls in.
