This property has been in the Wettstein Family for many years. I grew up on this property and have lived on it for 64 years.  My father (Wendell Wettstein) built the barn in 1948 to hold livestock in and also to have a dairy.  Linda and I have raised all our children on this place and now bring our grandchildren out to visit. We are a crop producing farm and run a pheasant hunting lodge during the hunting season.  This would be a place where you can come out to just relax for as long as you want to.

We have 2 bunkhouses with private sleeping rooms and each bunkhouse has 2 sets of shared facilities in each bunkhouse.  We have a lodge they can utilize which has a lounge area with pool table, dart board, television, and card playing tables.  The lodge also has cooking and dining facilities which a guest can utilize themselves or for a fee we can furnish the food and preparation of the food.  We are out in the country, about 16 miles from a town of 20,000 people with different things to do, or you can just relax at the lodge.  If you want to extend your range a little further, we have two other towns, within  60 miles that you can visit.  These towns have a population of 30,000 to 35,000 people in them. We are in a farming community and there are growing crops and livestock next to the lodge.  From 9/1 to 4/30/of any year, there would be pheasant hunting available for an additional fee. We have 18 private sleeping rooms and have a 4 bedroom, 4 private bath house 1/2 mile down the road to utilize. It also has kitchen, living room, and dining room to utilize.  A person could hike anywhere, see how a farming operation works, ride a combine when harvesting is in season, and possibly do horseback riding.  If you would want to we could even have a night of camping out if a person would want to.  You would be able to sit out on the porch and watch the stars and hear the coyotes howl and the pheasants cackle.  A person could try their hand at a 13 station sporting clay tower or if it was in season, and we had enough people, a person could do an English pheasant tower shoot.  If you want a country experience, then this might be the place you want to be.

We have over 1200 acres of land to enjoy. We have 2 bunkhouses with private sleeping rooms and each bunkhouse has 2 sets of shared facilities in each bunkhouse.  We have a lodge they can utilize which has a lounge area with pool table, dart board, television, and card playing tables.  The lodge also has cooking and dining facilities which a guest can utilize themselves or for a fee we can furnish the food and preparation of the food.  We are out in the country, about 16 miles from a town of 20,000 people with different things to do, or you can just relax at the lodge.  If you want to extend your range a little further, we have two other towns, within  60 miles that you can visit.  These towns have a population of 30,000 to 35,000 people in them. We are in a farming community and there are growing crops and livestock next to the lodge.  From 9/1 to 4/30/of any year, there would be pheasant hunting available for an additional fee. We have 18 private sleeping rooms and have a 4 bedroom, 4 private bath house 1/2 mile down the road to utilize. It also has kitchen, living room, and dining room to utilize.  A person could hike anywhere, see how a farming operation works, ride a combine when harvesting is in season, and possibly do horseback riding.  If you would want to we could even have a night of camping out if a person would want to.  You would be able to sit out on the porch and watch the stars and hear the coyotes howl and the pheasants cackle.  A person could try their hand at a 13 station sporting clay tower or if it was in season, and we had enough people, a person could do an English pheasant tower shoot.  If you want a country experience, then this might be the place you want to be.

I met with C.J., and he gave my dog and I a wonderful tour of the property. He was very cordial and friendly ! Unfortunately, I was not able to stay the days I had reserved - hopefully when fall arrives, I will be able to stay there.

Site 1 - Pheasant Hunters Paradise
C.J.’s place was very nice. I stayed in a bunkhouse by myself, and was very glad of the air conditioning. Point of fact, I had the whole place to myself. He’s a super cool guy, and let me have use of everything in the lodge. I have Verizon, and there was plenty of signal to watch some Netflix while I was there. There is about 3 miles of dirt road to get to the place, which concerned me a bit, but it wasn’t too bad. I was riding a motorcycle, but there was no loose gravel. I’ll make sure to see if he has a spot if ever I ride through again.

C.J. was very polite and courteous! The site was beautiful and the showers and restroom had heating which was very helpful for us as we were camping out the night in January. Would go again!

Pheasant Hunters Paradise
CJ is the man! Super friendly and welcoming. The property is incredible..I had so much fun exploring with my dog. Another highlight of the stay was the thoughtfully put together lodge. Tv with cable, pool table, darts and more! The downstairs of the lodge had an excellent kitchen which made food prep super easy and convenient. I had a great stay and highly recommend! Hope to be back one day!

Wettstein Farm Tent Campsite.
We are so thankful CJ was cooperative with our schedule change! Troy was also a delight helping us get situated. The bath houses were nice and clean. We were a short stop on the way back home.

Great setting and good communication, only downside was the diesel generator next door that ran all night. Bring ear plugs!

Easy comfortable

Peaceful and quiet. Directions were slightly confusing as ended up driving past twice but this may be my lack of map reading! Very clean toilets and showers!

Great house and nice stay!

CJ was very welcoming and a great host! There weren’t many options in the area but he was very helpful with directions and communication. Bath house is very nice and clean! Perfect location if you’re looking to go to Dodge City!

Peaceful Plains Hunter's Lodge
Pheasant Hunters Paradise
My friends and I came across the Lodge when looking for campsite near the Oklahoma panhandle. We were on our way to Black Mesa on our Motorcycles and needed a place half way to spend the night. The bunk beds were clean and private and they had A/C. We also had showers and toilets inside with the bunks. There was also a large covered area with a fire pit. The Hunter's lodge was really nice and had pool, darts and TV. Including a full kitchen downstairs. This place would be perfect for large groups. C.J. was a wonderful Host and made us feel very safe and welcome. his property was peaceful and very beautiful! Highly recommend for anyone passing through or anyone who would like to take a group Hunting. Highly recommend!!!
