Rio Bravo Ranch is a family owned ranch that borders the Rio Grande and Casa Piedra Road.  We have cultured a love for camping and the outdoors on this ranch as children and young adults.  One day we were sitting on "the backside," enjoying the amazing vistas, solitude and a campfire when the idea came to us that we should share this amazing place with others seeking this type of experience.  We tried to think about what makes camping enjoyable to us - no immediately adjacent campers, a nice fire ring/shade structure, a nice, large tent site and vistas with unobstructed views.  We have incorporated this into our campground design which, when completely finished, will encompass several hundred acres of Chihuahuan desert vistas.  We are also fortunate enough to have a large riparian area on the property.  It is in this area, amongst the 40ft tall cottonwood and willows, we often find Gambel's Quail, Scaled Quail, Javelina and numerous bird species including the occasional turkey.  We would love nothing more than to share this wonderful place, where we grew up, with souls seeking solitude, adventure and inspiration.  Our eastern entrance is just a few miles outside the Big Bend Ranch State Park boundary, conveniently located on Casa Piedra road about 1.6 miles north of FM 170.

Great Desert Camping
Great location for visiting BBRSP. Camp site was clean and covered picnic table was great. Highly recommend if you want seclusion in the desert! Lots of stars and quiet…great site to relax after hiking or off-roading in the park.

We loved it! Beautiful solitude but easy to access from Presidio. Good distance for a day trip through Big Bend Ranch Park too. We will return!

La Sierrita @ Rio Bravo Ranch
Views for miles
Had a great time at la sierrita campsite! Nice and quiet with views for miles. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Plenty of privacy as the next nearest site (rb2) is a couple hundred yards away. Convenient to Presidio if you want dinner or supplies. Chinati potty was clean. Recommend adding signage designating la sierrita site so as to remove guesswork finding it, but that's a quibble.

La Sierrita @ Rio Bravo Ranch
Best kept secret
What an amazing site! Far from everything but close enough if need to. Only about 20 minute drive from Presidio makes this place so convenient in case something happens (like running out of beer, lol) but when you are there you feel in the middle of nowhere. So close to the Big Bend State Park to expand your adventure. Communication with Lauren was super easy via message and she provided great, very detailed info on how to access and what to do. Our site was La Sierrita, overlooking at the ranch and Presidio at the distance. Only a couple minute bike ride to the porta potty makes it convenient (2 other sites available much closer to it if need to). We travel to the area every year to MTB at the State park and this will definitely be a mandatory stop.

Rio Bravo 2
This is an absolute beautiful location. RB2 was everything we needed. It's easy to locate off the highway and the views are fantastic.
