2024 total eclipse
In the path of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse.
Like most folks who’ve been bitten by the water ski bug, I dreamed of having my own lake and when I met my life partner Harald, an elite slalom skier, my search began in earnest. By a combination of good timing and good luck, I was able to make that dream come true and in the spring of 2014 I acquired this land with the hopes of building my dream water ski lake on it. 7 years later, we have a thriving water ski club and are constantly making improvements to the site. We now have decided to add some sites for rent to share this incredible property with others outside the water ski community. Site #1 is a small cabin that sleeps 3 and site #2 is a small houseboat that has been converted to a bunkie. Onsite activities include use of a canoe and paddleboard. Use of a kid's swingset and olympic trampoline. Swimming and fishing. Pets are welcome, campfires are permitted.

Bunkie on Privately Owned Ski Lake
Will return
We had a great time. Nice and quiet. Easy process. No disruption. Was a nice retreat after a long week. Only downside was the porta potty. Should consider putting a washroom with a flush toilet. my daughter was very timid about using the porta potty. But overall we enjoyed! The host was also fine with us staying later then check out as long as nobody else booked. Thanks again!!

Bunkie on Privately Owned Ski Lake
The scenery was beautiful, almost felt like I was somewhere tropical at the Cabin with the Cabana there! It is better to go during the week when the water ski members are not there, to be honest. Great family spot, the fishing was so fun and the beach was perfect for little ones. The bathroom is a wee bit of a trek though. Nevertheless, I would go again!

Little Houseboat
I absolutely loved the little houseboat, absolutely gorgeous location and lovely hosts. The water was clear and beautiful, watching the water-skiing was just a bonus. Would 100% book again and highly recommend.

Little Houseboat
We enjoyed the limited fishing we were able to do. It was a nice sized water feature for a small boat, but as soon as the water skiing started for the day we had to stop due to the waves. The inside was extremely simplistic, and not freshly cleaned. This would have been fine, but the futon-type of bed provided didn’t seem clean either. We ended up staying at a hotel by Niagara and just spent the day at the houseboat. I would recommend bringing an air mattress for peace of mind. I understand that many people may be fine leaves doors unlocked, but a lock would be a great option. The view was nice as well as the gazebo. Knowing we were not local, it would have been nice to know that the road leading to the entrance given in Google Maps is under construction with no detour given. We had SOS service only, and had to walk up to a policeman parked in a lot to ask for directions at 11pm. I understood that it was carry in, carry out, but I thought some sort of trash bin would be available at the exit. We are from many hours away and were told by a man as we were leaving to take it home with us. Overall it was a nice spot for one person, two max, to enjoy the water, but not in a relaxing way. It was not our cup of tea, but I do think it would be enjoyable for the right person.

Fishing Weekend
My boyfriend and our 2 dogs stayed in this little cabin on the lake for 2 nights. We brought our canoe with us and spent most of our days and evenings out fishing. There are plenty of large mouth bass which makes it a great spot if that’s what you’re fishing for! The only downside is that the speed boats and jet skiing dominates most of the lake, so you mostly have to stay on the outer edges of the lake. It also has great doc fishing spots too. The cabin itself is small and cute. There are some things that could be improved but we spent 90% of our time in the water so it worked well for us! Just bring a fan because it can get hot! The outside eating area is great and the view is lovely. This cabin is at the far end of the lake, making it more private which was great for our 2 dogs to run around and play. Overall, for a fishing weekend, this did the trick and I would recommend if you’re looking for a camping getaway.
