A main entrance to the Wind River Mountain Range, Pinedale is perfect for campers who love sky-high peaks. Pitch a tent at a local Pinedale campground, which features drinking water and toilets, before setting off on a hike or horseback ride at Green River Lakes in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Motorhome and tent camping are available in the forest from mid-June to mid-September, and amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, drinking water taps, a boat ramp, horse corrals, and bear-proof storage lockers—an essential when camping in grizzly territory. The trails are still accessible in the winter season to snowmobiles, as well. Head to Fremont Lake campgrounds for designated sites with picnic tables, grill-top fire rings, drinking water, vault toilets, and access to water sports. Private cabin rentals equipped with king beds, TVs, and a gas fireplace are also available. When winter sets in, reserve a cabin for a few days of ice fishing from the glacial-fed water or skiing the slopes at White Pine Resort.

The location is beautiful. The ride up union pass is a well maintained dirt road, we got in late and had to drive it in the dark (would not recommend if you can avoid) but the road was wide enough to manage opposite direction vehicles. The spot was easy to find and get set up, the front to back leveling was a little step but side to side was good. Spot #2 still has line and neutral crossed so you'll need to use power from spot #1.

Had a lot of fun during our stay. It is a very beautiful area and the most dog friendly camp we have been to. Our dogs were able to play off leash in the field with all the local dogs. Was able to do a UTV rental out of season with just a couple days notice before our arrival. Tim had tons of trail recommendations and was a lot of fun to talk with.

Staff was very helpful and the bathroom is clean. These are important positive points ! And the tent camping area has nice grass. The only downside is that it's out in the wide open (let those aspen suckers grow!) One can hear the highway but it all settles down around 10pm. Other campers were respectful.

Nice tranquil spot with lots of ranch charm and great views. The tent spots are in a fenced off part of a horse pasture so the ground is a bit uneven and there’s some scattered dry manure, but it’s well cared for. It was easy to access after dark and the host was very responsive and helpful. Good deal for the price!

Directions were easy to follow. There was about 5 miles or so of unpaved road up the mountain to the sites. The sites were all lined up, kind of close to each other. There was also the rental shop and a restaurant/bar in the same area. We didn’t try the restaurant but it was open. There was a really big field across the road that we were able to let the doggos run free, off leash.

The Longhorn is a lovely and very well-equipped RV park. The sites are not all lined up in a row and crammed in. Each one has its own breathing room. We are not normally RV Park guests, but we needed to take care of some business and this was the perfect place. The river that runs through it is a lovely river. We highly recommend this resort.
