We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. The cabins are primitive, no electric or water. There are solar lights inside and and out also a propane wall heater for chilly nights. This is comfortable camping in the Beautiful Mountains of WV. There is a shower house with instant hot water and outside spigots for water, a porta potty, a fire-pit for cooking and camp fires at night while star gazing. The property is over 100 acres in Greenbrier county WV. There is a lot of history in this area. There are tons of wildlife on the property as well. We have awesome trails with GREAT Views for hiking or horse back riding should you decide to bring your own equine. Pets are allowed with prior notice (not to be left unattended in the cabins). We have a private dog park that you will have access to on the property. We also offer doggie daycare & boarding here at the farm (prior proof of vaccine is required) should you need our services. We also house horses/ponies/ goats/sheep/geese/ducks & chickens here on the farm. We are located 4 miles from downtown Lewisburg which has wonderful stores, antique shops and restaurants. Also in the area is the Greenbrier River Trail 77 miles long for hiking, biking and horseback riding. What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna.
I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose.
Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. On this new land is a historic log cabin I am renovating that is said to be one of the original settler's cabin on the mountain.
Because of the amount of tree fruit I grow and the varied landscape, there is a rich diversity of birds and animals to be seen. One of my favorite walks is along the cliffs to the top waterfall where there is a sweet wading pool. I have also built a number of ponds and four of them are quite swimmable. One has a dock and is where we spend much summer time refreshing and frolicking.
The farm is also a small (very small) licensed farm winery and we make and sell traditional hard cider from our apples and pears. Our cider can be purchased along with our nut oils and flours and other farm produce you may not be familiar with. We live to eat. Coming here is a gastronomical adventure!
I run the Acornucopia project from here and from it we are developing a foragers network that would very much suit the lifestyle of hipcampers. We pay foragers for wild nuts they gather. Also often there is an opportunity to work on the farm harvesting and processing food. Let me know if that is something you would like to do.

We stayed at Papa's place cabin. It was simple but clean and the campground office space was nice to watch a show or make some food. We only stayed one night but it worked well for us! The cabin had one outlet for a light and a fan and a heater which was nice heating it up a little in October. 🙂

Weekend Trip to CB Ranch Camp -Almost Heaven cabins
Beautiful land very private and quiet. Place was roomy and comfy and loved the bear theme. Could see all the stars at night. We saw deer in the morning frolicking in the fall colors. They had a nice set up prepared for a small bonfire and water jugs to extinguish before bed which was a nice touch. There was a propane heater and plenty of blankets. We took a walk to the pond and located some frogs. We never made it to the shower but the area has plenty to do. We went to a cidery, drive over an 1800# covered bridge, lost caves and bridge day. Will come back some day.

What a sweet little spot! The mattress was super comfy! We stayed in Papa’s and loved that there was a small fan as we love sleeping with white noise. Shower got hot and was just fine for fall traveling - I’m not sure how cold winters get, but weather was ideal so the open air bathroom was no issue. The community center was cute and convenient for us to fill water bottles for our trip! Super sweet lady that greeted us too! Would’ve absolutely stayed longer if we weren’t just passing through!

If you’re wondering whether you should book or not, just do it! Ray’s was everything I needed and more for my three-night trip visiting NRG. I stayed in the Kentucky cabin which had 2 bunk beds, larger bed (full or queen?), nightstand w/ light, extension cord, standup heater fan, ceiling light/fan and trash can. There was a porch with a picnic table and two additional wooden chairs. There is also a fire pit.
In the common room (quick walk from the cabin) there’s a living room with TV, sofa, board games and more. There's a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, sink. There’s a large covered area off this common room that has a grill, tables and chairs. Next to this area is a small open shed that has ice $2 and firewood $6 or $7 if I recall.
On the opposite side of the campground (still a quick walk from the cabins) theirs is a large outdoor utility sink and cabinet, and a washer/dryer that is $2/ea under an awning. I didn’t use them so I’m not sure how you pay. There’s a separate men’s & women’s restroom/shower. I believe there were 3 showers and 3 toilets in the women’s room. The showers had hot water and the utility sink was super convenient for washing dishes.
I have AT&T and had 2 bars everywhere I went around the campground. After each day of hiking from AM to PM, the Kentucky cabin was an absolute oasis. Especially after ending a long roadtrip of camping in the rain!

I'm so glad we stayed here. This was such an incredible place it really feels like a hidden treasure. Incredible views EVERYWHERE. We came here specifically for the stars and milky way, which were amazing, but the fall colors really stole the show. This was the most wildflowers I've ever seen! Goldenrod in every direction. We were also completely alone here and there's plenty to explore. This is our new favorite place!

This is a fun place to stay if you’re visiting the Lewisburg area. Wish we could have stayed longer. I liked that there were yummy home cooked meals available right there onsite! The bathhouse was clean and nice. The cabins have a pretty good amount of space between them and the hosts were so kind when I ran out of drinking water. Bring your own bottles of water or you can purchase some at the little store. It was a fun experience with the animals and everything and the view of the mountains was unforgettable. Thank you!

Ray’s Campground provides great access to the National Park, and we loved the cabin that we stayed in- rustic, with a cute covered outdoor space, at a good price. The campsite itself was lovely, lots of shade, trees, and the staff were very helpful. We recommend a stay here.

Good layout, quiet, super close to Fayetteville and the sights of NRG! Shared spaces were clean and well lit. Cabin was small but comfortable. It was pretty humid but the ceiling fan helped! Would stay there again!

Ray’s Campground has been by far the best camping experience I’ve ever had. The whole place was super clean, quiet, peaceful, and pet friendly exactly what I was hoping for. Everyone I met was so friendly and made the atmosphere feel really welcoming.
The location couldn’t be better. It’s close to everything but still tucked away in a cozy, tucked-back spot that feels like a true escape. Whether you’re into exploring or just want to kick back and enjoy the outdoors, this place has you covered. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better spot. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping trip.

Ray's was great to me. I booked last minute and they accommodated my nighttime arrival. Staff was kind. I stayed in papa's place and my sheets just fit but not sure if they were queen or full, size up just in case! Didn't use bunk beds but love the option if I come back with friends or family. No fridge or microwave in room but great cabin and grounds.
