We’re located along two miles of riverfrontage, deep in the heart of the Monongahela National Forest. Winter brings great local skiing and snowboarding. Come and spend a quiet weekend in your own heated cabin, complete with pellet stoves. Spring and summer bring fishing, tubing, hiking, the WV Mountain Rail train rides, and many more outdoor activities. We are a great retreat any time of year!

We have facilities available year-round, comfortable cabins complete with heat, a full kitchen, hot tubs, and bathroom facilities, perfect for a getaway. Campers are welcome to use our heated bath house in winter.

Wild Yough Glamping Huts

Wild Yough is located in Southern Garrett County, Maryland very close to Herrington Manor State Park, Swallows Falls State Park, and the quaint mountain village of Oakland. The property adjoins thousands of acres of Garrett State Forest and hundreds of acres of state land along the Youghiogheny River.  The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away.  “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh.  This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property.  And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional.  There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge.  Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to.  Take the trail to “High Bluff”, then cross the Snyder property line (Permission for trail access only – do not leave trail!), then descend down and cross the bridge across Herrington Manor Creek (a stocked trout stream!).  Wild Yough property is to your right along the river and there is a great place for lying in the sun, doing some fishing, or just wading into the cool waters of the Yough on a hot summer day.Learn more about this land:The idea is simple- our glamping site will offer a true camping experience without all the hassles and fuss.  With 350 acres of private ground, adjacent to thousands of acres of state park and forest, Wild Yough offers plenty of space to spread out, stretch your legs, watch the deer, and howl with the coyotes.  You won’t be packed into a row of RV’s or tents where you can hear your neighbor snoring.  You won’t have to set up camp in the rain.  And you’ll never have to sleep on the ground!   You’ll have your own heated hut, warm soft bed, and private space for long evenings around the campfire.  And our bathhouse and pavilion facilities are designed with comfort, cleanliness and relaxation in mind.  Oh yeah… large field for enjoying lawn games or just relaxing quietly under an endless blanket of evening stars.Each hut is furnished with a double bed, additional seating/pullout bed, cabin cooking center with stove, dining table, LED lighting, and a propane heater.  Outside, each hut has comfortable chairs on the porch, a large picnic table, and a fire-ring/cooking grill with extra seating.  And all this is just a short walk to the bath house and paviliion!  Our bathhouse is designed to bring you all of the comforts of home, with modern, comfortable features which include full size showers, plenty of counter space, professional ventilation, and regular maintenance by our partners at Offlake Rentals.  Additionally, we have outside water facilities and separate, deep sinks for washing dishes. Property once owned by my grandparents, beef & dairy farm. Now turned into vegetable garden and small gift shop with seasonal market. High on a hill with breathtaking views. Sunsets and sunrises often seen and photos taken by many guests. Mostly grass with some gravel areas.  Plenty of space for dogs to run and play.  We do have free range chickens so make sure you specify in your request if you have pets or not. Thanks!!!!

Hello Campers & Glampers! Our property is 16.5 acres, two of which are along the Tygart Valley River and the rest are within forest canopy on the mountainside. We are in the low foothills of the Appalachia. We have 4 riverfront sites and we are continually changing our space around This year we will be adding a tiny house on site 4 and a sweatlodge with soaking pool on Site 1 additional camping spots along the property near outhouse

Each site is equipped with a steel fire pit/grill and a picnic table. We have been busy building hiking trails and more primitive campsites on the 14.5 acres on the hillside across the road from the riverfront for all to enjoy.  

Step outside your tent and enjoy natures bounty —outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching are all at your fingertips and much more. There are 300+ acres of public land less than one mile away with miles of ATV and hiking trails and stocked ponds. If you're a fan of waterfalls just 4 miles down river is Arden Falls, one of our areas best kept secrets. The Tygart Valley River is one of the top kayaking rivers in the country. Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore.  Well known hiking trails such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and the Dolly Sods are all within an hour drive. Go to Nelson Rocks for the ultimate climbing experience on the Via Ferrata.

We are the perfect place to come to explore the wild beauty of West Virginia without the crowds. A hidden gem!
