Welcome to Olympic Wanderer! This fairy-tale nature retreat creekside cabin will wow you with its stellar location, lush grounds, hot-tub, and stylish interior. The cabin is nestled in a forested community next the hood canal, famous for its rich waters and shellfish harvesting. This is the perfect base for your adventures on the Olympic Peninsula, and is a great central location close to endless amazing hiking trails, including Olympic NP and multiple state parks less than 10 minutes away. The highlight of the cabin is the log bridge across the creek! You will feel like you are on an amazing hiking trail or in a fairytale on the rainforest-like grounds with a babbling brook or rushing creek running through it depending on how much rain we have had. Our property is directly across the street from access to the national forest service roads with miles of roads and trails. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.

Our cozy trailer is located on our large city property in old town Lake Stevens within a 5 min walk to the lake which boast 5 public parks with paddle boards for rent. We are a 5 minute walk to 3 restaurants and small grocery and a 1 min bike ride to the 30 mile paved centennial trail. We also have frisbee golf park and playground across the street. We are located on the back side of Old town Lake stevens and a 10 minute drive to the Gateway town of the Olympic national forest with Hundreds of hiking trails and a beautiful scenic 3 hour drive that is call Mt. Loop Hwy and goes through the off grid town of Silverton, has access to the gate of the old town of Monte Cristo and drives all the way through on gravel from there to the town of Darington and loops back to us. We used this cabin as a base for exploring the forests and parks on the Olympic peninsula, and we had a blast. We were able to explore everything we wanted to, and return to a nice cozy and quiet cabin to rest and recover for the next day's dventures. The cabin had everything we needed for relaxing, and the hosts were responsive and had help available if anything small came up. Great place, would rent again if in the area.

The place is immaculate and everywhere you turn is an unexpected surprise in the special details she has thought of. This place was fantastic. We came here with some friends and our dogs and it was the perfect getaway. It had a perfect cozy cabin, large outdoor space outback with a creek and fire pit, and an awesome hot tub that kept nice and warm. The deck up top was the perfect place to have brunch and the surrounding area is filled with nice hikes. The only downside is the lack of reliable internet for handheld devices but with the outdoors and perfect streaming we hardly even noticed. Ideal place to keep us and the pets entertained. Would definitely come back and planning to.

Andrea was lovely. We had what we needed in the trailer. We were also handed bisques one day and chocolate cake the next. And Lake Stevens itself was a joy. That said, be prepared to be on a family’s Lake Stevens plot. We could hear the dogs, their kiddo playing, the family yelling back and forth and the news on and people talking about it in one of the dwellings while relaxing in the hottub.

My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed ar the Olympic Wanderer in early June 2025. Olympic National Forest has been on our bucket list for WA for the past 2 years of being stationed in WA. It was exactly as I expected! We had a wonderful weekend of tandem kayaking & baby crab exploration in the beautiful lake! After, my husband & I soaked in the hot tub and then we made more family memories with a camp fire and making s'mores! After that, we played a family card game before bed. We were up early enough before check out to have a quiet cup of coffee before we packed up and drove over 2 hours home. They have everything you need such as drinkable water, coffee pods, TV with movie apos, free wifi, bath toiletries, bedding, a good size fridge with freezer, peace & quiet, a/c for both upstairs and downstairs, some games & puzzles and dishware. Bring your own s'more items, skewers, logs, and fire fluid- and you're all set! I would absolutely stay here again! My twin 12 yr olds & 7 year wanted to stay longer! If I could suggest a few things to help the stay, it would be have the grass mowed- ad it was over grown and made it hard to not trip over roots and stones. And additional recycling- as all the recycling bins on the curb were full to the brim from previous occupants. Note: None of this would delay the amazing time we had- just suggestions

Weekend Trip to The Kings Cottage-Adventure awaits!

I cannot recommend this place enough! We chose this cabin for a romantic and restorative get away, and it did not disappoint. We had three adults but the property could have easily and comfortably accommodated a family or extended family; there were so many private sleeping places. There were so many amenities and unexpected touches not in the listing, things like supplies for rock painting, adult coloring books, and a very diverse library. We were able to take advantage of the sauna, outdoor shower, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen as well as the indoor wood burning stove. Everything was SPOTLESS; huge shout out to the housekeeping service. Even the outdoor couches were clean somehow! Lezli, the host, was a radiantly warm and friendly person. You can tell she built this property from a place of deep love and care, with her own big family in mind. She was wonderful about guiding us up the logging road and showing us how everything worked. It is very remote and the drive is unpaved, but your reward is complete peace and quiet. She was always quick to respond before snd during our stay. Lezli, thank you so much for sharing your magical land with us for the weekend. We can’t wait to come back!

The creek running through the property, the proper fire pit, all the games in the cabin, and of course, the proximity to Hood Canal and Olympic National Park made our stay a blast. Absolutely lovely. Lezli thinks of everything that you might need to have a relaxing, peaceful break from the city. Views are beautiful -- especially the one from the sauna -- and the grounds are maintained with an eye for native plant life and preservation of the forest.
