Relax and enjoy the privacy and beauty of our 10-acre secluded property. The property is a mowed, open grass field surrounded by forest. Camp sites have a view of an eagle's nest (two young eagles are in the nest right now!) and our six-hole frisbee golf course. Frisbees are provided and only campers and the residents use the course.
Camp sites include a raised 12' by 12' tent pad, picnic table, space for one or two vehicles that can be parked near the forest or in the field, and use of a porta-potty (cleaned regularly and pumped out weekly). Potable water is located from a spigot in the pasture.
Choose from three camp sites: Eagle Eyrie, Owl Hollow, or Hawk Nest. Sites are roomy enough for RV campers and ideal for a private Pacific Northwest getaway.
Our property is in close proximity to downtown Bellingham and downtown Ferndale (only 5 miles north or south) and all the delicious restaurants, live music, and parks they provide; but is nestled into a pastoral refuge. Seattle is 1.5 hours south and Vancouver is 1 hour north.
Free water and sewer dump are available at the Lummi Market, within one mile of the house.
Property owners, Kim & Jeff, live onsite if you have questions or need anything; however the camp sites are tucked away such that the camping area is entirely separate.
Property is accessed down a long gravel driveway on the east side of Rural Avenue, just across the street from a log cabin/house. A yellow "Rural Rodeo" sign is located below the mailboxes adjacent to our driveway. Please keep an eye out for our address #, as some of the mapping systems have you drive past our driveway. The driveway extends past a large barn. Keep right on the driveway at the "Y".

Lummi Island is one of many islands that make up the San Juans. Home of a little under 1000 permanent residents, it is one of the easiest assessable islands as it has a regular ferry that runs daily, on the hour every hour from roughly 6am-midnight. On the Island there is a restaurant, a convenience store, farmers markets in the summer months, farm stands, artist tours and a delicious coffee cart most Thursday-Sundays. There are multiple public beaches, and this particular spot is part of the "Scenic Estates" which offers additional amenities including a swimming lake, playground, marina and boat launch all assessable within a 3 minute drive.
The gazebo is a truly unique camping experience. There is a potty tent with a portable toilet. Please pack in and out all things. There is an option to rent a propane tank with a fire pit for an additional charge, but we ask no recreational fires as there is no water access at the gazebo.
This property does have neighbors, but is pretty private. Please be respectful of them as well as Mother Nature. The outdoors await!

Great area and a wonderful host. Met us during a rain storm as we parked our trailer and assist through out. Much appreciated. We have a 17’ trailer which fit just fine but anything above that would be a bit tight. Would recommend driving around property vice backing down the drive. Very nice spot and super quiet. Site was convenient to so many great attractions that it is a perfect base camp or just to relax and chill. Would recommend for sure.

I appreciated how intentional the camping area was set up. Lovely! Having a port-a-potty on site was also nice. Easy to find, beautiful surroundings. There's a little noise from a train, and I think the location must be in a flight pattern? But a good pair of earplugs will take care of that issue.

Gorgeous spot! The gazebo fit us 2 + our dog super comfortably, even in a rainstorm overnight. Beautiful place on a lovely and chill island. Wouldn’t recommend for folks with mobility concerns, but we had no problems carrying stuff in.

Perfect quiet getaway close enough to town! The camping was as advertised and true to the photos. We were in a truck bed camper which was a little tall for the beautiful trees overhanging the designated tent pad and table for the site. The portapotty was extremely clean and the property was well maintained. Would definitely stay again!

This camp was super cute, well maintained, and very close to all of the areas the island has to offer!
The host was so kind, great at communicating with us, and have amazing recommendations on places to eat in the area.
The only small thing we noticed was being in close proximity to the air base you can definitely hear the jets. HOWEVER, we only heard them upon arrival that night, and for a short time the next morning. The remaining night and morning there we never heard a thing!

Super cute and remote site that felt very homey. Communication between Michael leading up to our stay as well as recommendations for places to eat were top notch! Literally the ONLY thing that we noticed was being across from the naval Air Force base could be noisy at times, however we really only noticed when we first arrived later in the evening and the next morning around 8 am. Other than that, we really never heard them during our 2 day stay. Michael’s Hipcamp is definitely a place I’d recommend on the island for anybody that would want clean, shaded, close to everything, and not for a large chunk of change!
