30 acre mountain side farm right outside of Frederick MD. We are a small startup farm raising pigs and poultry looking to incorporate some camping. We have a set up campsite with a bell tent, luggable loo, and outdoor shower available along with a handful of sites for primitive camping.  We look forward to hosting you.

We have a small pond with all kinds of frogs, spring peepers.  We also have a larger pond that has catch and release fishing.  

Tiny Haven

Tiny Haven Harpers Ferry is nestled on 10 acres of retired farmland, close to downtown Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown WV, the C&O Canal Towpath for walking and biking, wineries and breweries, and the Maryland Heights Overlook Trail. 

This location features our two modern-farmhouse tiny homes, two renovated vintage airstreams, a stargazing glamping dome, and two glamping tents!

Rappahannock Rhapsody

In the lee of the Shenandoah National Park in Rappahannock County sits 200 acre Over Jordan Farm, home of Bean Hollow Grassfed, a grazing livestock operation that raises lamb, broilers, beef and pastured pork.  It was the land of the Manahoacs, a Siouan-language Native American tribe. In 1734 it was part of 3,500 land grant and in early 19h century became Caledonia Farm, a property of the Dearing family. For the last 40+ years the farm has been owned by the Dietel family. 

As the stewards of this land we invite you to come meander down farm lanes, watch the wild turkeys forage, and, if you are lucky, see a red fox or wild bobcat. The views are Rappahannock's finest and the Appalachian trail is within walking distance (less than two miles up the "holler'' from the farm). Though only 70 miles from Washington DC, the County does not have a single stop light and dark skies abound. Upon crossing the Jordan River you will see a restored log cabin, our farm store, and a sandy beach with a swimming pond where guests may swim and picnic. The magic of this working landscape and its natural splendor soothes the soul.

The ground at the site is nice and flat for your tent and there are a few large trees around to provide shade on hot summer days.

Table for two? The large stumps at the campsite are perfect for dining and sitting by the fire!

Firewood is included at no additional cost. 

Bears Den Campground

Set up your tent in our remote but easily accessible campground, 100 yards off the Appalachian Trail. Roast marshmallows by the fire pit and watch the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. 
Individual site capacities are varied! Please take note of this when selecting your site upon checkout.

About the property
Located on a 66-acre plot just five miles from the Shenandoah River, our property offers amazing access to hiking and the outdoors while also keeping civilization within striking distance. Bear Chase Brewery is just a half mile walk across the street, and we are 15 miles from Purcellville. 
The land and lodge used to be the summer home of a trained opera singer, whose singing could be heard throughout the mountain. 
Your Host lives onsite in the stone house that also acts as a hostel for hikers on the Appalachian Trail. Built in the 1930's all from locally sourced hand-hammered stone, the house is open every night from 5pm - 9pm. 
Note that we offer several campsites relatively close to each other, so you should expect to see and hear other campers on the property during your stay. 
About the listing
Pitch your tent in a forested area just a short walk up from where you’ll park your car. Enjoy unbeatable proximity to hiking and panoramic views while still having basic amenities that ensure a comfortable stay. 
You’ll have access to a composting pit toilet, and can access potable water from the tap in the lodge. That’s also where you can access hot showers. As noted above, we host Appalachian Trail thru hikers on the property, so you may see them hanging around or sleeping in the bunkhouse near the shared facilities. 
For meals, we have picnic tables, and you are encouraged to cook over the fire pits that accompany each site. Please practice Leave No Trace practices during your stay, as the property has raccoons and other critters who will be drawn to any food scraps that are left behind.  
Pets are allowed! Please keep them on leash during your stay.  
Trash can be disposed of in the bins onsite. 
Additional details to note
Expect to see and hear other campers on the property during your stay. No kitchen equipment is provided, so campers must bring their own supplies if they'd like to cook. We do not offer WiFi, but there is good cell reception for all common carriers.

Green Mountain Farm

Green Mountain Farm is 80 picturesque acres in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. 

This site is named after the wooden table it has bear claw marks on it from one of our local black bears who visit occasionally.

Unfortunately, we are unable to host overnights at this time due to regulations. We are sad to not be able to have you here but could recommend Sky Meadows or Shenandoah State Parks nearby. 

You are welcome to visit the cidery to order drinks and bottles-to-go during our open hours (Sat.11-5; Sun 12-5; weekdays by appt.) or request after-hours pick-up. 

We hope to be available by Fall or Spring and offer you a $15 credit to use on your next visit. We recommend advance reservations especially for Columbus Day & Memorial Day.

HipCamp uses a number system but we do not. You may choose your own spot, from our vast property, depending on your needs. Everyone should be spread out, giving privacy to each site. Many, many areas to camp all the way up into the mountain foothill. Welcome to arrive after 8:00 a.m. to begin setting up. Prior to arrival, reply back to our check-in email letter we will send you requesting a copy of photo IDs per adult, names & description of children and pets, emergency contacts per person and a Release of Liability statement, all due via email PRIOR to your arrival. 

Tents, trailers and RVs are welcome. Bring portable potties for comfort. No smoking allowed on property. No charge for children and pets camping.

Do not bring wood to the property (may transfer insects). Plenty of fallen wood to forage for your campfires. Fires out @ midnight. If planning to build a campfire, pack a shovel for assistance in managing the fire and water buckets for emergency. We have hoses for filling (unless you are camping near the creek you won’t need). 

Cider Bar open 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays / 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays and weekdays by appointment. Order our seasonal ciders for the campsite. Available by the pint, 64 oz. growler, 4-pack & 24 bottle case for take-home selections.
