River Grove Campground

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. 
The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so.
Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds.
Campfires are permitted. 
There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. 
Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently

Matt B.’s Land Treehouse!!

This is our family farm, though you probably will not see us much.  The campsite is located on a corner of the property on Cummins Creek and once you get there you will feel secluded in nature.  Matt grew up here swimming, fishing and exploring in this creek...the creek has taught him more about life than anyone ever could.  I hope that you too can understand why we always walk alway feeling like this is a very special spot!  Enjoy pizza oven, grill, fire pit, picnic table,  swimming, fishing, exploring and knowing your party is the only people that you be on this site.

The boats are meant for one but there's just enough room for a friend (provided it's a dog).

Bring a fishing rod or two to enjoy the creek – while we didn't have any luck, we definitely saw fish rising.

The river goes for miles in either direction but water levels are greatly dependent on rainfall. Dry weather may mean less kayak-able water. 

The treehouse bed snuggly fits two people. BYOSB (bring your own sleeping bag!).

The Ranch RV spot

The RV site includes a 38 ft. covering, 50A electricity, sewer and city water hookups. There is also a fire pit and a covered picnic table close by.  Semi working farm with cows, chickens, and small garden. The ranch also features a 1910 house that is currently being renovated. This property has been in our family since the 1960's, and owned by close friends of the family since the house was built in 1910. Close access to San Marcos, Lockhart, and Luling. Public river access is just down the road. 

Just 8 miles away located in the heart of Texas’s barbecue capital, Lockhart State Park is an intimate, area with lush trees and trails along the Clear Fork Creek. It offers amenities like a swimming pool, a golf course, a small waterfall, fishing, and hiking. It’s just a 10-minute drive from legendary restaurants like Black’s Barbecue, Smitty’s Market, and Kreuz Market—all must-eat stops for barbecue fans. The state park offers short, flat trails ideal for novice hikers on the Comanche Loop, and fishing is as easy as casting your line—no license required—and enjoying the peaceful environment.

If you're willing to venture a little further, 22 miles away you have Palmeto state park.

This retreat is all about getting away from the hustle and bustle and reconnecting with nature. With complete privacy, serene surroundings, and no distractions.

Camp 48 — Riverside Retreat

Come and stay at our four acre riverfront property right on the Guadalupe! Half of the property is at higher elevation, with a nice sunset vista and breezy camping spots. Parking is also located up here. A short walk down a gated ravine takes you to the lower-leveled riverfront part of the property. This area offers 1-2 camping spots on a wooden deck, and 2-3 camping spots on the rock/concrete pavilion overlooking the fire pit and benches. The riverfront amenities include a gas grill, a cooler, a fire pit (firewood included but always subject to a burn ban), and well water for a hose shower (not for drinking). There is well water on the upper part of the property as well. No fires are permitted up top. 
Enjoy the views up top and the amenities down below. Set up your camp wherever works best for you! 

Note: There is no electricity or bathrooms on the property. Please pack out what you pack in.

We rent the entire property to one person/reservation at a time. Up to 10 people on the property allowed or $25 per extra person.

Cast a line in the Guadalupe and enjoy the bass and catfish fishing — If you're interested in a fishing guide for a 2-3 hour morning run, the cost is $250.00. The guide will pick you up on the banks of the property around 7am, and you'll be off the water by 10am. Subject to his availability.
Feel free to BYO kayak or canoe. Life jackets highly encouraged! 

The property is on ALT 90, 5 miles east of Diamond A Gas Station and Doss BBQ, in Belmont, Texas. It is 10 miles west of Gonzales (home of the "Come and Take It" cannon legend and birthplace of Texas independence). They have an HEB, local Mexican food, and plenty of fast food options.

Welcome to Sandy Grove Ranch Page.  We are a Veteran owned and ran ranch located in Leesville, Texas. We are a work in progress so everything isn't picture perfect but we have scottish highland cattle, kunekune pigs and free range poultry.  Our property also has livestock dogs and barn cats. Nestled on a private rural property, this peaceful getaway is conveniently located about 25 miles south of Austin, 25 miles west of San Antonio, and just 3 miles from I-10—offering easy access while still feeling tucked away.

We offer three RV sites with 30- and 50-amp hookups and well water, plus several additional spots for boondocking. Please note that there are no septic hookups or bathrooms on-site, but guests can enjoy outdoor showers and multiple BBQ areas scattered throughout the property.

Approximately 20 acres on a creek to explore with lots of curious wildlife including turkey, deer, and armadillos. Walking trails abound with 2 reservable campsites with firepits, and an unbeatable sunset view overlooking a quiet creek.  Contactless check in, unique gate code provided prior to arrival. Centrally located shared outhouse, just a 1-2 minute walk from any campsite.

Plenty of room to hang hammocks, or place a few tents under the oak canopy. Fire pit, grill, and a few stump seats make for a cozy fireside meal.

DRR Trailriders' Rest - Campground


Our campground has four tent 'pads'  (12x12, 10x10, 8x8, 6x6).  They're situated on about 1/2 acre behind the main ranch house, and include a fire ring with benches....wood is provided.    Just steps away are two outdoor showers (with hot water) and two outdoor toilets (separate rooms) that are connected to our septic system.  This rest area has a sink in between the private toilet rooms. There is also a kitchen area with a refrigerator, sink, grill and a table for 6.

We are located on almost 10 wooded acres, and most of our RV spots are shady for the majority of the day.

Schulenburg is centrally located among a whole host of places - we like to think of it as both halfway to everywhere and in the middle of everywhere.  We are an easy 1.5 hour drive to San Antonio, Houston, Austin, and New Braunfels, and even closer to Bastrop, Victoria, La Grange, and others.  In addition, in our local area, we have a great variety of coffee shops, antique stores, and shopping.

Robin’s Nest is a real treehouse—built atop 7 oaks with no tape measure, no level, and no blueprints—just imagination, old wood, and 150-year-old treasures tucked into every corner. It’s not a house on sticks next to trees. It’s in the trees. And when you’re here, you’re not on our time. You’re on treehouse time.

This isn’t polished, modern luxury. It’s barefoot luxury. A dreamy, playful escape with simple comforts: a swinging queen daybed, open-air master bath in the tree with you, fire pit, cowboy hot tub, and a rope cargo net for lounging in the forest. There are trails to wander, frogs to sing you to sleep, and stars above.

Push open the double doors. Slide the futon against the handrail under the roof cover. Turn off the lights and leave only the fairy lights glowing. Across the pond, a spotlight shines on a little feeder, and if you’ve been quiet, you’ll see deer, raccoons, and other critters play in the dark—like a living storybook, better than TV. Leave the doors open. Let the cool AC wash over you. This moment is yours.

The entire holler is yours. No neighbors. No campers. No shared anything. Just you and the wild around you.

This land is a working wildlife sanctuary, cared for with 50 years of hands-on learning. Please don’t bring poisons—they hurt the good critters too. The yellow-and-black mud daubers? Harmless to humans, deadly to harmful spiders. The big harmless, banana spiders keep flies and mosquitos away. It's nature in balance. 

If the pond’s low, bring a float or take our kayaks ten minutes away to a secret bend in the San Marcos River. We’ll share the pin.

Your close to town but, fully immersed in nature, so it's not ideal for small kids to wander alone. Ladders, beds, and trails aren’t built to code. Adults should be fit and wear sturdy shoes if going far from camp.

One night is fun. But your happy place deserves more than that.
