The PARK at Brushy Creek

5 sites · Lodging, Tents55 acres · Trenton, TX
We're situated just outside Trenton on 55 acres of gently sloping terrain featuring a wide creek and expansive grounds beyond the Big Oak, perfect for exploration. Enjoy stunning sunsets, a clear view of the night sky, the tranquil sounds of the creek, and occasional visits from deer, all contributing to a peaceful retreat. Our property is evolving as we create manicured groves and open pastures for both our farm animals and guests. During rainy spells, expect some mud and occasional sightings of heavy equipment or tractors. Our livestock rotate between our two properties, so they may not always be here at The PARK at Brushy Creek. If you don't see them here, you're welcome to visit our other property across the road with the big green gate. Currently, there is no electricity or Wi-Fi on the property. Lighting is provided by solar power or batteries. Tent sites have access to a water spigot, and there's a Port-o-let nearby. This is rural country living; our neighbors' livestock and dogs may make sounds like bleating, barking, oinking, mooing, neighing, squealing, whinnying, braying, or whining at any time of day or night. We are conveniently located one hour north of Dallas Fort Worth, just 30 minutes from McKinney, Sherman, or Greenville, and within 10 miles of Leonard, Whitewright, and Bonham. Trenton is only five miles away. Several lakes are nearby including Lake Bonham, Lake Texoma, and the new Bois' d Arc Lake. Fieldsong Farm

2 sites · RVs, Tents13 acres · Lucas, TX
In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. Come see us; we'd like to share it all with you! Learn more about this land: Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed! Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins. Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony. When the sun comes up, you'll have many choices to make--cycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, running, strolling, visiting with the goats, cats and chickens, helping with farm chores, or just sitting to enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm. There are many great shopping and eating choices withing 15 miles. Breakfast will be brought to your campsite for an additional fee, booked in advance. Horse pasture rentals is available, also booked in advance. (We do not offer horseback riding,) Eggs, local honey, seasonal veggies, baked goods artisan food products, goat milk products and firewood are available for sale. No dirt bikes, ATVs or RTVs; no motorcycles except as transportation. No discharge of firearms allowed. No hunting, no bows and arrows, no fireworks. Every camper group or RV group must have at least one person over 21 in the group. We do not have any horses to rent or ride.

Bill's Place

10 sites · RVs, Tents135 acres · Bennington, OK
This property has been in my family for 5 generations.  There was a house and a cabin on it at one time, but now it just has the old cemetery and a small corral.  The cemetery is notable, it being the final resting place of Wilson N. Jones (1827-1901), principal chief of the Choctaw Nation.  Learn more about this land:Have a great stay. This is the first time my folks have let anyone stay on the farm. So please be respectful of the land. No trash/litter. You can see the stars at night in a way that is impossible in the cities. It’s really worth the drive. Perhaps bring a telescope! There are the remnants of long gone houses and a worn out barn. Interesting to look at. But be careful, your car might get stuck unless it has 4x4. There is a creek that runs along the backside to the South of the property. Sometimes it has water, sometimes not, depends on how much rain we’re getting. We only allow one camping party at a time, this ensures you get to enjoy the property undisturbed. It is primitive camping, no services, no facilities. Bring in everything you need, take out everything you brought.
