Weekend Trip to Peaceful Private RV Space

It was a good stop for an overnight stay. In the earlier evening hours someone down the street was needlessly honking their car horn. However, the neighborhood was peaceful during the time we slept into the next morning. Upon arrival, a kind gentleman made sure my husband was settled in.

3 nights at “Roble Perdido” private RV site

Sweet camp spot close to downtown Marfa! We enjoyed sitting outside at the picnic table and taking in the scenery. The walk downtown was easy. Definitely recommend!

Very kind hosts! The place was exactly as described. We sat by the fire and enjoyed the night sky full of stars.

Weekend Trip to Gardens Oasis Lobo Texas

Great stargazing, and a wild desert feeling while still having basic amenities. Helpful hints (especially if you arrive after dark): when it says turn at the sign, follow the "RV Sites" signs and not the arrows, or you'll end up on private land. after the turn off of the last public road, it's a few miles, and the two gates (left for camping and right for RVs) are right in front of the campground, not earlier on the dirt road [I was confused about whether there might be a separate drive for the tent and RV Sites, but they're close together and you want to follow the desert gardens signs for a good bit until you see both gates]. The bath area is nice, but the shower is visible from some of the sites, if privacy is a concern consider a swimsuit. The pallet bench and table were nice additions for cooking and setting up. Desert sunrise and the 360 view was unbeatable

Weekend Trip to “Roble Perdido” private RV site

Nice host. Good communication. Good hookups. Clean site. Only clarification I would offer is the site is fenced on 3 sides but open to the front with very close neighbors on all sides. Having your pet "off leash" here would be difficult without them getting involved with neighboring pets.

Host very friendly and helpful. A lot of trash (McDonald bags and cups) we had to back over.

The stars at night are big and bright...Red Feather is nearly 8 acres of undisturbed land located deep in the Davis Mountains in far west Texas. Situated in southwestern Jeff Davis County and 5 miles from the highway on primitive roads, it is accessible only by four-wheel drive vehicles. We have a nice view of the McDonald Observatory (only 7.5 miles as the crow flies) and we are 35 minutes from Alpine and Marfa. *Please know this is a primitive campsite, there are no restrooms or trash receptacles. You must be prepared to take out what you bring in. Unfortunately, past guests have left it unkempt which makes us have to vet out who we will host. Red Feather is not a spot for everyone, only experienced campers who have a true appreciation and respect for nature. And if you do find the area untidy, please let us know. Lastly, this is not a place for large group gatherings or a place to party. ~Leave No Trace~
