Once a cotton farm this land was purchased to become a working flower farm and respite opportunity for individuals to come enjoy the land as it was created. It is filled with wildlife and wildflowers. There are over 30 acres to sit and just listen to the stillness and gaze at the stars. Take in the beautiful sunsets and just reset, relax and recharge your bodies. There is no electricity or water but we make sure that we offer non potable water and a fire ring for your visit.

Pitch your tent at a designated location with a fire ring, firewood and a picnic table. 100% complete privacy. Gaze at the stars all night. A short historical drive to the nearby Wichita Mountains or Oklahoma casinos during the day.  Want to glamp? Contact us for our glamping special upgrade that will offer you a double bed, canvas tent fire ring picnic table and ice chest full of cold dinks and/or continental breakfast option.

Back Forty RV Park

Our inspiration for Back Forty RV Park comes from our Dad, JT Lindsey.

J.T. and wife Lucille bought these 40 acres of land in 1972, moved their family into the farm house desperately needing attention, and raised their three children here. JT worked his entire life in agriculture as a farmer and cattle rancher. He was smart, hard working, and very mechanically inclined-he could fix anything! He was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar, and a good cup of coffee, but he loved his family the most. Summer vacation was RVing in Colorado, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alabama, South Dakota and Florida but only after harvest was done and the fields were plowed!

Daddy was taken from us way too soon, but his love and affection for his family has remained with us through the years. His image appears in our signs and logos taken from our favorite photo. It’s our hope you feel like you are coming back home at Back Forty RV Park.

Back Forty RV Park is a local owned park located in Quanah, Tx. Conveniently on US Hwy 287 between Amarillo and Dallas/Fort Worth. Our rural Texas location has wide open skies, amazing sunsets and beautiful sunrises. We offer a quiet, clean and friendly park for an overnight visit or long term resident who is working in the area. Park sits on 40 acres and includes 40 gravel pads, 12 pull thru and 28 back-ins.

The Happy Acre is our home which sits on an acre of land on the edge of our quant, lovely&nbsp;little town of Vernon, TX.&nbsp; We are conveniently located as&nbsp;Hwy 287 runs directly thru Vernon.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are 45 minutes from Wichita Falls&nbsp;and&nbsp;3 hours from Amarillo, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Oklahoma City with the Oklahoma border being 30 miles away. There are&nbsp;plenty of eateries and shopping nearby.&nbsp;We have plenty of space and&nbsp;offer both primitive and RV camping. We are pet and human friendly as long as all of well behaved! We just enjoy meeting new people and sharing our love of travel, music, art, and food with all! We hope to meet you soon!&nbsp;
