It's like having your own private summer camp! The unfurnished cabin is dry and clean. A huge upgrade from a tent (feel free to pitch your tents if you like)! The bathhouse offers hot showers, a flush toilet, and sink. The open pole barn has a deluxe camping kitchen set up with pots and pans, a propane stove, a coffee maker, and a dishwashing sink. There is also a dining table and chairs. While the property is close and convenient to Chattanooga, once you are enjoying the serene woods, shady trees, starry nights, and quality time with family and friends you will forget all about the city! While there are no full-time residents on the property, there is a small functioning horse farm about 100 yards from the camping area. Little Bone Cave campground is in the mountains of Tennessee with hiking trails and a beautiful view located on 16 acres. This campground adjoins Bone Cave State Natural Area located in Van Buren County. Big Bone Cave is a 400 acre natural area with trails and a cave that contained bones of a giant ground sloth discovered in 1811 and is maintained by Rock Island State Park. The cave is not currently open to the public. Rock Island State Park (swimming, fishing and hiking) is only 6 miles from the campground and Fall Creek Falls State Park (swimming, fishing, hiking and home of the Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival) is a beautiful 25 mile drive through the winding roads and mountains of Van Buren county. A public boat ramp maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is two miles away to access the Caney Fork River. Come enjoy with friends and family. Campsite #1, "Valley View" is a Rv with 30 amp electric with sewer and water or it can be a primitive campsite that is a wide open space and is approximately 1-2 acres with a beautiful view overlooking the valley below. We do have electric, sewer and water 340 gl tank with a hose, a picnic table and a fire ring at this site. if you'd prefer, you can locate a spot of your choosing off the beaten path anywhere within our 16 acres (ask the hostess for details). We now have rv hook up with a 30 amp electric service, sewer and water available. We have wildlife such as bobcats, coyotes, deer, owls, snakes, turkeys and rumor has it, maybe even a bigfoot. We stayed one night at Valley View Campground on our way north to visit our children. We liked the campground so much, we booked two nights on our way back home two weeks later. The location is great, easy to get to, and we loved the long pull through sites. It is obvious the owners love their land and love sharing it with others. We will definitely be staying there again!!

We had such a relaxing time! The cabin was perfect for the 5 of us and it had all the amenities we needed. We loved the lights around the campsite, and the kids took over the loft area in the cabin! Having a nice bathroom and the kitchen area just enhanced the stay! The highlight was enjoying the sweet kitties that spent time with us! It was a perfect little getaway!

Melissa’s land is a slice of paradise! The campsite had many options for entertainment including many chairs, a grill, a large fire pit, two hammocks and more! The host was very welcoming and the view was out-of-this-world gorgeous. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Valley View was a pleasure to stay in. Very new large spaces. Easy entry and backing in on the site we stayed on, #10. The only thing to be aware of is the interstate on the back of the campground and railroad across the street. All that said, we will definitely stay again! Nice location as well.

Weekend Trip to The Home Place

We had a great time at Hawk's Nest. It was so peaceful and private. We packed a lot of our camping gear, just in case, but barely need to take anything out of the car. Our dogs loved running around and exploring. The bedroom was comfortable and we stayed warm even though the nights were chilly. The location is perfect for hiking. We were able to make it to both Burgess Falls and Rock Island. We hope to make it back and stay longer next time.

This is one of those places that has that rare combination of easy access, privacy, a stunning view and hookups so you don’t have to boondock. Not only that, you can set up your rig just about anywhere on the site depending on your needs or preferences and the lengths of your hoses and power cable. There are two metal fire rings, with one well suited for cooking if that’s what you’re in to. Around the other fire ring are six, comfortable Adirondack style chairs. Two hammocks were set up nearby. There is an outhouse on the western edge of the site. We didn’t need to use it, but I checked it out and it is clean and well kept. Don’t be afraid to use it if you need to. There’s also a spiral bound notebook and pen so you can enter comments and read what others have said if you want. You can gather firewood on site, but I’d really recommend you bring your own, either locally sourced or kiln dried so invasive pests aren’t inadvertently brought to the site. The water pressure on the site was a bit low, (~ 20psi) so we chose to fill our fresh water tank and use our rig’s pump for better pressure. Melissa is a great host and obviously takes pride in maintaining her site. I’d 100% recommend this little slice of paradise for anyone wanting to escape the crowds, find solitude, enjoy dark skies and the sounds of crickets at night, and all without having to navigate bumpy dirt roads. Oh… one other thing. Bigfoot saw me but nobody believed him.

This is a remote spot available no hookups but water available at main house. You are behind gates with 30 acres of woods and meadows, a small creek, firepit etc.

We recently stayed 4 days at this campsite. The location was peaceful with stunning views of the mountains. The site was very clean and well kept. It also made a great base camp for exploring nearby attractions. It’s just a short drive to Twin Falls and not far from Fall Creek Falls, which were both absolutely amazing and worth the trip. And just a short walk to Bone Cave Trail. The only downside was the overwhelming number of stink bugs around the campsite and even inside, which made relaxing a bit difficult. Overall, the area is beautiful, but be prepared for the bugs. This is probably a seasonal issue and definitely nothing to do with the property at all. But not to worry a ton of them traveled all the way back to Alabama with us just in case we hadn’t had enough there. I would definitely recommend this site for anyone wanting to get away and enjoy nature!

Weekend Trip to Cabin and Barn on 20 Peaceful Acres

A very comfortable camping set up. Quite a lot of space in the woods to ourselves and between outhouses, with a large clearing in the middle for kids to enjoy. Kitchen and dining area under the barn is very well equipped. I didn't need to bring any extra cooking or dining equipment. Took us a little time to figure out the hot water in the shower but it does make a difference when it's on. Lots of products and some toilet paper provided. The wooden cabin was a great set up for sleeping. Very well ventilated and little fairy lights for nice ambiance. We took our air mattresses and sheets and it was like a little camp hotel. There is a road nearby but it's completely silent at night and pretty quiet during the day too. Horses on the property make great scenery. All in all clean and well maintained. Would just recommend taking a bath mat for the shower floor and tea towels for the kitchen for maximum comfort. Host was very easy to contact at any point and very helpful.

My first time to use Hipcamp. I typically stay in back country sites but wanted to do a trip with family and was incredibly impressed with the site. It is close to Rock Island State Park and is spacious with terrific views. You have the site all to yourself and it includes water, power, hammocks and a fire pit as well as an outhouse. I highly recommend it, a great experience.
