Welcome to Barren River Magic — a peaceful, nature-filled retreat tucked away in Center, Kentucky, surrounded by the serene waters of the Barren and Little Barren Rivers. Whether you're looking for a quiet escape, a family camping adventure, or a unique glamping experience, we’ve got a little something for everyone.

Choose from scenic tent sites, RV-friendly spots, and creative glamping stays like our repurposed grain bin or our open air structures. Please note: for most glamping stays, you’ll need to bring your own bedding (sleeping mats, bags, blankets, pillows). The Fox Den and Peace Pipe are the only exceptions—they come fully equipped!

Spend your days kayaking, fishing, tubing, or simply relaxing beside the river. The surrounding area is full of Kentucky gems—Mammoth Cave, Cave City, Nolin Lake, Green River Lake, Diamond Caverns, and more—all just a short drive away.

We’re a pet-friendly property because we know adventures are better with your furry friends. Campfires are welcome, and we even provide firewood to make your evenings extra cozy. You’ll also find portable toilets and two centrally located showers (naturally warmed by the sun!) for your convenience.

IMPORTANT: We do not accept late-night bookings or late arrivals. All guests must arrive by 6 PM local time.

This allows us to personally greet you and guide you to your glamping site or campsite. If something unexpected comes up and you’re concerned about arriving late, please send us a message in advance—we’ll do our best to help. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the experience smooth and enjoyable for all our guests!

Whether you are looking for a unique swimming hole location, a place to go fishing, kayak access, hiking trails or just a quiet place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, we promise you will not be disappointed. You may wish to lay in a hammock along the river or under our covered 100 x 130 pavilion. We also have a beautiful creek to explore, very secluded and off the beaten path with lots of wildlife to enjoy. In addition to our relaxing atmosphere, this camp will also give you and your loved ones an incredible view to enjoy throughout your stay. Only 15.0mi via KY-90W by vehicle or 14mi by kayak to Cumberland Falls State Park with many hiking trails. One of the oldest original homesteads in the area, for nearly 150 years this gem has been in the family. We have shared it with many people over the years and would love to share it with you!

These beloved woods are the remaining part of the once vast, Patrick homestead-started soon after the Revolutionary War. Our family ties and our roots grow very deeply along this river and these woods-we've been born and raised here and continue to strive to be good stewards of these lands.

Black House Mountain Campground

Enjoy the natural beauty of the 19,200-acre Pickett State Forest, which borders our campground, Pickett CCC Memorial State Park, only 2 miles away, Big South Fork Recreation Area, 14 miles away, and Pogue Creek Canyon State Natural Area, right across the street. Whether you like riding, hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, or stargazing, you’ll find plenty of activities to suit your taste! Choose from a spacious cabin with a full kitchen and bathroom or small cabins with half kitchen and bathroom. Our RV Sites are full-hookup, level, and spacious, with access to clean private bathrooms on-site. Book now and experience the adventure!

We are also the closest campground to Pickett Forest ATV trailhead in Jamestown, TN. You can hop on your ATV, UTV, or any 4x4 and explore miles of trails off Black House Mountain Road directly from our family-owned and locally operated campground. Stay comfortably and conveniently at our cabins and RV sites. Please note that we are not affiliated with Pickett State Forest or any governmental agency and are not responsible for the upkeep or access to any of the Tennessee State Forest trails. Skinner Mountain Offgrid Cabin

Off-grid cabin just 1 mile from Skinner Mountain Wildlife Management Area. It’s also only a few miles from the East Fork of the Obey River, where walleye spawn in early spring. East Port Marina on Dale Hollow is nearby as well!

This off-grid cabin is remote but very comfortable. Power is provided by solar and a battery station, while heat, hot water, and cooking are all powered by propane. Skinner Mountain WMA is close by for hunting all types of game, hiking, and ATV riding.

True West Campground & Stables

Our campground features 34 level RV and camping sites, all equipped with water and electric hookups, with some offering sewer connections for added convenience. Fishing enthusiasts will appreciate our two stocked ponds, where no fishing license is required. Our mercantile is a treasure trove of gifts, home decor, camping supplies, horse tack, snacks, maps, and Western wear. During the summer months, indulge in our delicious soft serve ice cream, and take advantage of our ATM, along with available ice and firewood. Plus, we have a propane refill station for your convenience.

Campers can gather on our spacious enclosed and covered deck, perfect for socializing or participating in one of our many events. Stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the campground, allowing for easy communication and Wi-Fi calling.

BBA has taken the guess work out of rustic camping. Consistently ranked as a Best of Tennessee Hipcamp and situated in a convenient spot for Upper Cumberland waterfalls, hiking, kayaking, lake life and more. Please read the site descriptions carefully to match your style of camping with the appropriate campsite. BBA guests frequently camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles.&nbsp;&nbsp;Most photos in this listing are taken onsite. Please keep in mind this is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may also contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around camp.
Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating.&nbsp;&nbsp;Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you!
COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires.
OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS:&nbsp;&nbsp;Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive.
Belle and Beau Acres is a farm homestead with a personal campground, conveniently located less than five minutes from I40.&nbsp;&nbsp;Expect nothing short of 360 degree views of relaxing nature, privacy, and spontaneous adventure when recreating at this agritourism location. Central to the most beautiful middle Tennessee destinations, BBA is the perfect home base for hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing excursions to at least 10 nearby state parks and lakes. Conveniently located on the Eastern Highland Rim between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga in the lower Appalachian mountains, this area sits at the Upper Cumberland Plateau and is part of Tennessee's largest micropolitan area of Cookeville. This hidden paradise has a waterfall that used to have a mill on it in the early 1900's. There are cliffs on each side of the creek making it the perfect spot for serene relaxation. Following upstream is an assortment of spots to pitch a tent. The most notable sites are surrounded by hemlock tree's and is peaceful when birds chirp over the small rapids echoing from the large overhang

*I am in the process of making multiple sites but until I do so it is first come first serve. There are multiple sites at main campsite and along creek, I've had a private event of thirty people staying at once. There are also smaller spots next to waterfall, uphill near cliff and I've had people go below falls for some complete wilderness (blocked by gorge and waterfall). With this being said, I do offer private bookings and accommodate special events! 

*I travel for work, so I won't always be here, but I will send directions and details after confirmation and make sure all is savvy during. Please be respectful to one and another and let me know asap if any issues arise but truthfully everyone has been amazing and I thoroughly enjoy meeting and getting to know everyone!

We have a beautiful inground pool reserved for campers only, two waterfalls on sight, free wifi, and just minutes from both Big South Fork National Recreation Area and Pickett State Forest! We are pet friendly and never charge extra for your furr babies!
