The campsite is about 1.25 acres and part of a larger property. We set up a travel trailer here while we built our home. Recently one of our neighbors, who does quite a bit of camping, set up their travel trailer in the same spot while their home was being painted. They loved it and recommended that we offer the site for others to appreciate. Respecting the DRY CAMPSITE helps.

If you're looking to escape to the mountains, look no further! Wild Ridge Trail is a place where you can come to unwind, relax, and take in the fresh air of our N.C. mountains! We are located only 10/15 minutes from all of the exciting things Asheville has to offer and just as close to the charming small town of Black Mountain!
The cabin at wild ridge is OFF GRID (meaning no power or running water) but I promise, with our solar panels and rain collection system you won't miss being ON the grid at all! The cabin and the drive (or hike) up was designed for the adventurous at heart! So, drive on up if you have 4WD or AWD and if you don't, no worries! Just park in the designated space, grab your gear and hike on up! (The hike in is steep... about 300 ft but takes less than 5 minutes) We have a cooler up there for any perishables you may have, just bring ice :)
Please note: We have to close the outdoor heated shower during the cold winter months, however we provide an all season 5 gallon solar shower bag to use during this time. We also have a list at the cabin of other places nearby that provide hot showers in the winter months for a small fee.
In the rare event that heavy snow is expected, we will have to close the road leading up to the cabin because of its steepness. If this occurs, you will be given a full refund for the cancellation.
To heat the cabin, there is a un-vented wall mounted heater that heats the space really well! Since the cabin is insulated, the heater works quick to heat the small area up so you will stay nice and cozy!

What a lovely, welcoming spot Mark and Esther have. We (my bf, pooch and I) spent two nights in our 18.5' camper trailer here in Techno RV Site #2 and it was quite perfect. We had no neighbors camped near us (mid-November and mid-week) so we felt like we were alone in the woods. But there are nice tree/shrub barriers between each site so I think it would have been fine if there had been. The bathhouse was clean and had everything you needed (including a timed heater and unlimited hot water) and the hiking trails on the property were a great place to walk the dog in the morning before setting out on our adventures. Communication was great from the hosts and they were there waiting for us upon our almost-late arrival. All in all, we felt this spot was great - and we'll probably be back. Thanks, Mark and Esther!

It was a lovely and easy stay! Directions and signage to getting to the site were clear. The string lights were very helpful for camp lighting. Firepit was ready to use when I got there! The upper deck was clean and a very nice feature.

Weekend Trip to The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
Our parents stayed at the cabin over a fall weekend in late October and it was perfect! We had a campfire, an outing to Asheville and a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and spent a rainy day cozied up in the cabin playing card games and chatting. You are immersed in the trees at the cabin and they have done such a wonderful job of making every part feel well thought out and cared for. The toilet and shower felt cozy, even outside! Deserae responded to all my messages promptly and communicated well! Our parents, visiting from Ireland, said it was one of our best vacation spots and they had such a refreshing time.

3 nights at The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
This was such a cool cabin. Waking up to the trees right outside the big garage door was amazing. The swing was such a highlight! We had a perfect vacation here.
Warning though, pack light unless you have a 4w drive vehicle that can make it up the trail (we didn't). The hike up to the cabin is a strenuous if you have a lot of things to carry.

The setting is very peaceful on the creek and we barely noticed the seldom cars from the road. The host is very nice and eager to help. We did need Anderson blocks to level our 40' 5th wheel but we're used to that and the space was long enough for both our 5th wheel and truck - we couldn't exactly tell from the photos. I think what would make it perfect is a picnic table and a solution for trash. We couldn't find anywhere to take our trash and did see a bear one morning so leaving trash outside is for sure not safe. Thank you Thom for a peaceful few days!

Had a great time at Reems Creek Retreat. The listing accurately reflects the location and experience. The running creek beside to campsite was great to listen to and soothing to hear at night. The provided wifi was excellent. The site is a gravel area but isn't flat so make you have plenty of stabilizing blocks. The campsite is only about 12 min from Weaverville which has everything you need. Wagbar is a definite must if you have a dog. Highly recommend Blue Mountain Pizza. Food was fantastic. Thom and his wife are fantastic hosts. Came over to introduce themselves and responded very quickly to messages. Will definitely come back.

Everything was exactly as described. We arrived when it was dark but it was still easy to find. The lights around the deck made it feel super welcoming. We didn’t see or hear anyone around. Would definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Ash Grove Cabins and Camping
I could not meet Esther unfortunately, but I can say that Mark was absolutely amazing. He showed us around when we arrived, gave us maps and instructions of fun activities to do and also how to be safe during the night at the mountains. We are from another country, not familiar with bears, and even though the encounters are kinda rare at the campground, we were afraid of that and Mark made sure to talk and explain everything to us, since before arrival.
The Elf Shelf was a great little space, so cozy, such a great view. I can say that the weather curtains works very good.
The bath house has very clean and well supplied, they also had a dishwashing station.
Unfortunately for health reasons we had to end our trip a little bit earlier than expected and Mark was very comprehensive.
I would definitely recommend this place and the hosts!

The overhead deck is so cool!! Could easily fit a few tents up there. Loved the views and string lights everywhere.
