We have 21 acres in the sand hills of Calhoun county just outside Columbia S C. Apply named Too Many Oaks Plantation, a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy time in your hammock reading by day and a roaring bonfire by night, We are planting a small mixed fruit orchard and building a chicken coop and garden to enjoy fresh eggs and whatever is in season.
Close to Columbia ( 30 minutes ) for a nice trip to the zoo or a float down the Saluda River with Adventure Carolina. A perfect mix of nice and quite but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Check with park for details

Such an amazing stay. It is clear a lot of work and detail has been done to the camp to make it as fun and cozy as possible! Michael was so kind and an amazing host. Quick communication and no issues whatsoever! Such a fun swing, axe throwing spot, and campfire area! I hope to make it back someday! Definitely recommend.

Three of us stayed for two below-freezing but delightful November nights at Too Many Oaks (site 1). Our goal was privacy and being in nature, and this location is definitely that! We were the only campers there at the time, but I think it would have been reasonably private even if the other site was also taken. Mike kindly allowed us to use his bathroom and kitchen, which are rustic but way better than washing dishes outside when it’s 29F! He also had plenty of wood for our camp fire. The sky was super dark even with a bright moon, and the stars were spectacular. The location was about a 40 minute pleasant drive through pines and cotton fields to Congaree National Park.
Google Maps tried to navigate us directly to the property off Rt 26. Doesn’t work! Make sure you get the full address - HipCamp didn’t provide it to us. Mike was very fast with responses when we reached out for a last minute booking and then afterward for the address.
If we drive from Philly to Florida again, we’ll definitely stay here!

This was the perfect place to stop on our trip. Our children absolutely loved your property — especially the swing with the lights and the axe-throwing area, which was a huge hit! We also really appreciated your generosity in letting us use your bathroom and kitchen — that meant a lot after a long day on the road. We had an awesome time. There was plenty of fire wood cut to collect and the camping spots were well maintained. Made it really easy to just pull up unload and set up. Definitely will be planning another stay!

Wonderful, cozy campsite. Off the road enough to keep it quite. The lights on the oaks was extra special! The Host communicated perfectly and made me feel welcome, like it was his living room! Lots of room to have a large family camp or a couple of families camping together.

We always have a wonderful time. We love the swing and we love to be able to use the bathroom anytime we need to camping spot is perfect nice and flat this time it rained on us 90% of the time but we still had a great time.

We camped our way from the Everglades to northern Michigan and this was by far my favorite hip camp. An old farm house under a giant magnolia, surrounded by oak trees. It was like something out of a country song. I will be back to South Carolina and I have so much comfort knowing I have a good safe place to rest my head.

Great place to pop in for the night. This site has everything you need - electricity, water, fire pit + wood, picnic table, lights, and some activities. Michael was even so kind as to offer us his bathroom and kitchen to use while he was away. I would recommend!
