The property has been in the Monge family since the late 1940's bought by Jose Monge Marquez. The campsite is located in a private property in the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees.
The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits.
The local attractions are:
-El Yunque National Rainforest 15 minute drive up the mountain.
-Las Paylas rockslides (2 minute drive & 8 minutes walking).
-The Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Barneario de Luquillo. Los Kioskos de Luquillo, ect. (10 minutes drive).

Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse
We loved our stay with Keishya and Bob! They share their beautiful house in a beautiful location with a personal welcome, then privacy and freedom. Within walking distance is a nature reserve, and several restaurants as well as a beach. My partner and I also took some time to relax by their pool and love on their dog! We would both love to come back some day.

7 nights at Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse
Keishya's guest house is so lovely! We stayed there for a week and it was clean, very comfortable and so relaxing. Keishya is very communicative and mindful of your needs during the stay. She provides towels, soap, and other basic needs. The town where the guest house is, Humacao, is mostly a local spot with many seafood and other types of restaurants very close. A couple places are within walking distance even. The guesthouse is located in a gated community so the beach is private and very nice. Palm trees offer spots of shade during the day. We brought our travel hammock which I would highly recommend. While we were there, there was a wind advisory so the beach was fairly choppy for our baby but still very swimmable for us! There are three rooms that are shared by a common kitchen. The bigger room offers a private bathroom and the two other rooms share a bathroom. We stayed in the bigger room with our 17 month old. There was enough space to put a pack n' play crib in the big room but not the smaller two rooms unless you moved the beds and furniture around perhaps. The kitchen is great and has all the basics you need. The nature preserve is walkable from the property and provides a lovely place for bird watching and nature strolling. There is a great overlook spot and a pretty lagoon. We loved it here and would highly recommend!

Great spot 15 minute drive away from el yunque hiking trails. we had camp site La Piedra which was right by the river stream. Electricty, hot water, and charging box were not expected but very much appreciated. Prepare for heavy rain during the nights.

First, you couldn’t find a more kind, considerate and generous host. Immediately upon checking in Keishya gave me a warm welcome and had some fresh fruits and water for me. She thinks of all the little things. Keishya’s place was perfect for me, and just one block to the beach. My bed sheets were so soft, my bathroom very clean, and overall very comfortable.
