For the winter months we are closed, we reopen in march. The furthest we are open at any given moment is about six months. We close when hunting season comes in during the fall.
Description of camp:
This is not a glampsite! There are limited utilities here. No Drinking water, just water for the fire. There is a self serve firewood store, you may also forage dead wood. Here only one group may camp at a time. The campsite is a big level hilltop clearing surrounded by acres of woods. There is stone driveway that leads to the site that gets you back into the woods. The driveway is wide enough for trucks, trailers, vans, etc. Since the site is up high it gets a great breeze which helps on warm days and gets good cell service.
The campsite gets great sun and has shaded areas along the sides that make for good tent pitching. We have had people set up hammocks, tents, tarps, or camp in their vehicle. We provide a privy (outhouse), an outdoor showerroom/changing room, picnic tables, and a metal fire pit with grill rack that you can put in the fire pit if you wish to cook/grill over it.
The woods are hilly so biking is not recomended. On the property we have 2+ miles of hiking trails. PLEASE feel free to contact us for any questions. Also please look at our pictures for a better idea of what we offer.
Nearby Activities: A short drive from here will take you to Gettysburg, York, or Hanover. Codorus park offers great hiking and is next to a lake. There are many excellent restaurants and brewpubs nearby, including the award winning Warehouse Gourmet Bistro and Brewpub. For more information read our activities section to find out what other things we provide or have nearby that you can do.
Pricing:
We have a weeknight discount for the site which is 29 dollars (Sunday-Thurdsay nights). Friday night and Saturday night we charge 35 dollars. Any additional guests after five we charge 9.50 dollars per person. We allow up to 10 guests total.
Rules:
Extinguish camp fires that are unattended and to only make them in the designated fire pit, no noise past 9 o'clock, discharging of firearms and fireworks are prohibited, do not bring firewood (to prevent invasive bug spread), keep your pets attended/on a leash, clean up after your pets, no cutting down trees

Enjoy 8 beautiful, secluded acres on the Conewago Creek at Bald Hill, Northern York Co. My homestead was once part of the Conewago Turf Farm. It borders the creek a length of 1100 feet, mostly maintained with easy access. Camp is at the base of a steep section of the Conewago Mountains, creating privacy and protection from wind and afternoon sun. This is not a whole house rental. I have a one bedroom, queen size bed, kitchenette, private restroom and outdoor shower with on demand hot water. There's plenty of room for tent or van camping. Please see pictures for detail. I live in the house above the glamping quarters.
Plenty of good fishing and paddling here. I offer shuttle service for 1 or 2 day float trips, paddle in one day, paddle out the next day. Canoes, kayaks, paddles and PFD's are included in the price of your stay.
The Conewago is very beginner paddling but remote, very clean and full of wildlife. Gifford Pinchot State Park is 7 miles away. I have two paddle boards if you want to paddle the 3 mile lake. This adventure would require a short hike out to a parking area.
Relax in a wood fired Norwegian sauna and cook in a Peruvian wood fired earth oven or cook under the stars over an open fire. Firewood is also included. Foodies will rejoice here.
I live and work here, part time blacksmith and wood worker. I'll assist you in any way or do my best to stay out of your way.

I love spending time at Craig's property. This was my second visit and somehow it was better than the first trip which was amazing. We weren't able to paddle bc the creek was down, and it wasn't impactful to our fun at all. Just book it! And if you can check out the nearby dirt race track BAPS, fun for kids and adults alike.

This was my second time at Craig’s space and it did not disappoint! Great eating, beautiful scenes and amenities galore. Me and four other friends set up a tent down by creek and woke up to some of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve seen in a while. If you’re into birding, we heard and saw all kinds of amazing feathered friends.
Our dogs explored every inch of the property and we got a chance to kayak pretty far down the Conewago creek. Craig was a master host, incredibly responsive but gave us plenty of room to feel like the space was our own.

This was our second stay on Craig's little slice of Heaven and it was just as lovely as the first go round. This trip we saw wild turkeys, deer, countless hummingbirds, toads, and more. Our dog, Thor, had a ball running around off leash. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful location - scenic creek running through the property that's great for wading, fishing, or kayaking/canoeing (depending on water level - it was a bit low when we visited in late August). The property is very well kept, well stocked, and Craig was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. We had a great location for our tent near the creek, and played some horseshoes he had set up there. The fire ring was in a nice graveled area, so no worried about rogue sparks. Overall, very enjoyable!

We had an amazing time at Craig's place - especially our dog Baxter, who could not have been happier! We loved trying out recipes in the clay oven and having direct access to the creek. Craig is an wonderful host and went above and beyond to make sure we had an excellent stay. Hope to be back again soon!

One of the best Hipcamp stays we’ve had! The host, Craig, went above and beyond—building fires, keeping our dishes clean, and even shuttling us up the creek for a dreamy kayak trip. The outdoor kitchen was amazing, with a flat-top grill, one-burner electric stove, firepit, and all the pots, pans, and dishes we needed. The host's craftsmanship shows in everything—pizza ovens, sauna, and log cabin, all built by hand. There’s a queen bed inside the bedroom, great deal of outdoor space enough for our gazebo, hammocks, and tent. We enjoyed fresh herbs from the garden, magical creek bends on a leisurely kayak ride (Craig provided us the kayaks and life jackets), birdwatching, and saw big fish jumping. Walmart is only 15 minutes away by car for supplies. Some morning truck noise from the bridge and low creek water didn’t take away from how special this place was for us!

Craig’s place is absolutely wonderful! Every detail is thoughtfully and beautifully considered, even the book collection. It’s very peaceful; the sounds of the birds, crickets, stream make it a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy nature. I hope to be back soon!

I selfishly don't want to tell y'all how great this place is. I can't speak highly enough of Craig, he will meet you where you're at in involvement (be as hands off or on as you require). He's kind, patient, and informed. The location was perfect but Craig made it a 6 star glamping experience. Craig has put a lot of time into maintaining the property and curating the vibe, and it shows. Showering in the outdoor shower during a rain shower should be on everyone's bucket list; and we didn't even get to enjoy the sauna (because July). Craig's creek shuttle is ideal for low maintenance, peak enjoyment. Craig will even take a video of you paddling for you. If you are burnt out on the city a weekend at Craig's will bring you back to life.

3 nights at Conewago Glamp and Paddle
Craig is the prefect host. If you’re looking for paddling fun this is the place to visit. Craig offers a ride either up or down stream. We even recommend his place for river tubes because he has a lazy river right off this property. We love water adventures and our dog loved being off leash the entire time. The outdoor kitchen is amazing. We highly recommend this place and will be back very soon.

This little hilltop site is spacious, private, and flat. Our group of four with a 26 foot motorhome had an absolute blast over the weekend. Ran into many turkeys and deer and had great hikes around the property. Highly recommend for a secluded getaway!

Craig, the host, was incredible. As others have said, he’s truly the consummate host. He greeted us warmly on day one, then gave us all the privacy we needed while still being super attentive—setting up fires when we asked and even swapping out our dishes and flatware so we could enjoy fresh meals. He was thoughtful, generous, and made the place feel really safe and welcoming.
If you have a dog reactive dog like we do, this is the place to be! We loved how spacious the property was. There was plenty of room for our pup Disco to run freely off-leash, which was such a joy to watch. It made the whole experience feel even more special.
It rained most of the time we stayed (which was of course out of everybody’s control), and Craig was worried we wouldn’t have a good time and was even willing to work with us to reschedule. We needed up staying and are so happy we did. This spot is close to a couple great little towns with good thrifting, food and dessert!
We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Conewago Glamp and Paddle
This Hipcamp is a literal slice of heaven! It’s very cozily nestled between a hillside and a creek with a huge yard for dogs - or littles - to run around. The lodgings are very comfortable, clean, and superbly maintained (bedroom, bathroom, outdoor kitchen and shower). The amenities are plentiful! Our favs were the campfire ring, horseshoe lawn game, outdoor pizza oven, wifi, AND fact that our goodest boi could enjoy the property off leash. It was a bit too cold for river hanging or paddling during our stay, but the creek access was simple. The host, Craig, was kind, friendly, anticipated our every need. He was unobtrusive and good at reading his audience (we’re social and really enjoyed chatting with him to learn more about his gorgeous land and many talents!). You will love your stay here. We can’t wait to go back!
