Welcome to Sawdust FarmCamp! Located in Geneva, Ohio. We have four different sites to choose from: one tent site, two glamping tent sites, and one cabin. NEW 2025! The Nature Mindfulness Hike, where we find a deeper connection to nature, is now included with your stay. It is held every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Need some additional relaxation? Book a Reiki Healing at the Jug House next to the pond for an extra fee. Reiki is a Japanese stress reduction and relaxation technique that promotes healing. Contact your host for availability before booking. We also have the option to book all our sites for a 15-person retreat, with special extras only available for that booking, including a pavilion teepee tent. Portable toilets are available, pets are welcome, and campfires are permitted. Potable water and hot water showers are only available at our cabin, and our glamping sites only have solar camp showers (not the tent site New hot showers are being planned for the 2024 season. Naturalist Isabelle H. Klein wrote a collection of letters from her home of Sawdust (named form the sawdust left by the loggers of the early 60’s) for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Explorer Magazine from the winter of 1969 to the summer of 1976. They then were published as the book “Letters From Sawdust” by the Press of Case Western Reserve University for the Museum. It is a lyrical voyage through the seasons at the Sawdust Tract in Northeast Ohio. She details encounters with the wildlife of the area as well as the changing seasons and plant life. Reminiscent of Thoreau's writings about Walden. In 1978 an additional house was moved onto the property from Sidley's gravel pit and joined with the existing Klein farmhouse. We decided to preserve almost 400 acres of the property with the help of the Western Reserve Land Conservatory for the Cleveland Museum Of Natural History, Natural Areas. Forest is home to the red-sided dace, and 10 rare species of birds, including cerulean warblers. The original small family farm and surrounding woods we have retained are being restored and updated. We are proud to call Sawdust home and would love to share it with you.

This increase will hit us hard and we have no choice but to increase our prices as well* Hemlock Hideaway and its 18 acres was originally part of a larger 100-acre plot that was surveyed and settled in the late 1700's by Gideon Granger of the Connecticut Land Company. Granger sold it to one Jehoikim Burget in 1815 for the whopping price of $400. The resident house was built in 1816 by Burget and then passed down to family members over the next 5 generations, until we bought it in 2003, marking the first time the house and remaining property were ever officially sold. In the mid 1800's, a grist mill was put up across the river from the cabin, and our creek was the main road in and out of that operation. There is a gravestone belonging to the wife of Jehoikim's son, she being half Native American and therefore couldn't be buried in the local white cemetery. We also own the original hand-written deed from 1815 detailing the sale of the original 100 acres to Jehoikim Burget. Learn more about this land: Our primitive cabin nestled in the woods overlooking the Grand River is a nature-lover's paradise! Come canoe, fish, experience wine country, or unplug and just get away from it all. Please note: There is no running water or electricity at the site, but the cabin is generator-ready and there is an outhouse.  The cabin does have a wood burning stove for heat and simple cooking, however there is no running water or electricity.  That being said, the building is wired and has plugs and outlets and is generator-ready.  You provide your own generator and fuel.  We provide sheets, pillows, flashlights, a fire ring with cooking grate, charcoal grill (you provide the charcoal), access to firewood, and an outhouse with toilet paper.  Our 1/4 mile of Grand River frontage can be accessed right outside the cabin door via a quick hike down the steep hillside.  If hiking isn't preferred, then a quick two-minute drive will take you to the Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark - a favorite of local fishermen.  Bigger groups with tents are welcome, but will need to bring all supplies beyond what we provide for two guests.

With three separate bedrooms and 8 beds, our cabin is great for couples, large families, hunters, fisherman, hikers, golfers, and friends looking to disconnect and reconnect! COVERED FRONT PORCH/LARGE YARD- The relaxing atmosphere of the creekside porch is a guest favorite. It provides lots of shade and that flowing creek sound! Drink coffee on the gliders and catch a glimpse of wildlife in the woods. From intense badminton matches to rounds of corn hole, this is the spot! There’s a small table for happy hour sips and snacks under the glow of the front porch string lights. The large firepit surrounded by the creek and trees bring guests together for cozy nights under the stars peeking through the tall pines. HUNTING/FISHING- The creek (Little Hickory Run) is stocked with trout in the spring! Our property is attached to 175 acres of public hunting land owned by Colins Pine logging company. The property and woods however are not set up for mini bikes, dirt bikes or ATVS and are not permitted to be ridden there. FIREWOOD-For now we are BYOW or purchase nearby at George’s Little Store in East Hickory on Route 62. There’s a cart and wheelbarrow provided to move wood right from your vehicle. I will contact guests if we decide to offer wood on site again. FULLY STICKED EAT-IN KITCHEN- The updated kitchen includes large pantry shelves because all you will need to bring is your food! I’ve got the rest covered. From the little amenities like spices and cooking spray to the Keurig and coffee pot; it’s stocked! Blender, crockpot, dishes for 11, pots and pans and more. This increase will hit us hard and we have no choice but to increase our prices as well* Hemlock Hideaway and its 18 acres was originally part of a larger 100-acre plot that was surveyed and settled in the late 1700's by Gideon Granger of the Connecticut Land Company. Granger sold it to one Jehoikim Burget in 1815 for the whopping price of $400. The resident house was built in 1816 by Burget and then passed down to family members over the next 5 generations, until we bought it in 2003, marking the first time the house and remaining property were ever officially sold. In the mid 1800's, a grist mill was put up across the river from the cabin, and our creek was the main road in and out of that operation. There is a gravestone belonging to the wife of Jehoikim's son, she being half Native American and therefore couldn't be buried in the local white cemetery. We also own the original hand-written deed from 1815 detailing the sale of the original 100 acres to Jehoikim Burget. Learn more about this land: Our primitive cabin nestled in the woods overlooking the Grand River is a nature-lover's paradise! Come canoe, fish, experience wine country, or unplug and just get away from it all. Please note: There is no running water or electricity at the site, but the cabin is generator-ready and there is an outhouse.  The cabin does have a wood burning stove for heat and simple cooking, however there is no running water or electricity.  That being said, the building is wired and has plugs and outlets and is generator-ready.  You provide your own generator and fuel.  We provide sheets, pillows, flashlights, a fire ring with cooking grate, charcoal grill (you provide the charcoal), access to firewood, and an outhouse with toilet paper.  Our 1/4 mile of Grand River frontage can be accessed right outside the cabin door via a quick hike down the steep hillside.  If hiking isn't preferred, then a quick two-minute drive will take you to the Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark - a favorite of local fishermen.  Bigger groups with tents are welcome, but will need to bring all supplies beyond what we provide for two guests.

It is the perfect getaway with being far enough away but not to far from plenty to do. A small cozy cabin nestled in the woods with a back drop that is perfect for every sunrise to sunset. Geneva on the lake is only 15 mins away with plenty of stuff to make for a busy weekend or to stay put and light a fire, relax and unwind. The hosts are very accommodating and easy to work with. A great time for all people and their pets!

I had a great weekend of camping. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The wood burning stove provided the perfect amount of warmth. I enjoyed the sounds of all the wildlife outside the doors. From the geese to the pack of howling coyotes, to all the farm animals in the area. Tim had the outside fire pit already set and the inside stove as well. He made sure we were stocked with more than enough wood for the weekend, and messaged me to make sure I still had enough wood. The outdoor porta potty was very clean and a very nice perk from our normal camping locations. It was also nice being able to let my dog run free all weekend. He enjoyed that very much. I highly recommend this site and will definitely be coming back here again!

We were warmly greeted by host with fire blazing in fire pit & woodstove! Plenty of firewood provided. Very appreciated on a cold evening in Nov! Beautiful site!!! Can’t say enough! Loved all of the lights, the pull down platform was great for our folding mattress, even a charging station for our phones, plenty of room for ourselves & our pups. The outhouse was convenient & clean. Felt very private. Highly recommend!

Amazing. From the view of the fall leaves and the Allegheny, to how nice the cabin was, to having a chimnied fire pit. Everything was perfect,. We usually do primitive sites, but I figured we could go glamping for once, and it was beyond anything I could expect. Meghan was super accommodating and a really nice host as well. 11/10 we'll definitely be back!

Easy check in. Beautiful property. I highly recommend this glamping experience to anyone. My friend and I split the Waggin Tails covered wagon and were blown away at how roomy and comfortable it was. The wood and easy start kindling that's provided was a lovely bonus. The coffee shop uses the most delicious beans. I made sure I bought a bag to bring home so my husband could taste them. We cant express how stunning this property is. The pictures simply don't do it any justice. Barry and his son were wonderful hosts during our stay. They provided plenty of fire wood and water. The bed was comfortable and the tent was cozy. They did offer a heater in case we were too cold at night but we were just fine. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the creek were incredible. Saw my first bald eagle in real life! We couldn't be happier. This site has now become a tradition for us. Cant wait to visit again

This was my second time staying at this site. It’s very quiet and secluded yet only 10 minutes from all of the Geneva wineries. The tent is a good size and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back soon!

One of the most scenic spots I've stayed, absolutely the prettiest in Ohio. The area is quiet, fully wooded, and just incredibly peaceful. The tent was unfortunately a bit mildewy, but even with that we had a great time. It sounds like the issue was just timing, we'll be back for sure. Can't wait to try the cabin or tent spot!

Our little family stayed in one of the tents this past weekend and upon our arrival we found a spacious tent with all the amenities for an outside gathering, outdoor cooking, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a separate game room. We were so impressed with the cleanliness, aesthetics, and personal touches that were left by the owners. Some shout outs: * We were given a separate heated bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet, and a personalized touch of our family name on a sign outside the door * A gathering area or hang out after hours with a fire cauldron * A coffee shop with specious coffee and chai lattes and reasonably priced breakfast options * Pickleball for our kids * Very kind and gracious hosts We will absolutely be back and recommend this as a place to visit to our friends and family!

My dog and I had an amazing time camping on Barry’s land! We had everything we needed and Barry was thoughtful enough to bring us some spring water, which saved me from having to get in my car to restock! They also supplied us with plenty of dry wood for our campfire. The views were breathtaking! We had so much fun exploring the property and hiking through Elk Creek. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved it! My husband’s from UT. Camping is his thing, not mine…but this was awesome. Well stocked camp site. Everything you need is there….and clean with a white duvet (my personal fav). Clean bathrooms, showers, a beach, bike trail, walking trails, waterfalls nearby…truly a nice weekend adventure. We’ll come again!

Let Hemlock Hideaway be whatever you need it to be. After a wonderful yet busy and sometimes chaotic summer, I needed a place to unwind, find solitude and relax for a day. I literally came and stripped away all the constraints of everyday life and bared myself to nature and the peace and silence of the cabin. Tucked away in a little nook, close enough to the owners of anything was needed but far enough away and secluded enough to find privacy and solitude. The truly rustic stay was everything I was hoping for. I enjoyed a warm, sunny day hidden in the shade. The morning offered a short rain that actually added to the effect and then cleared for a beautiful morning. I could have stayed that way for days. Hang out, breathe deep, release everything and truly be one with the surroundings. I cannot wait until I can come again.

10/10 Everything is perfect! Property and site are clean and beautiful. Lots of items included, 2 fire pits, a hammock, nice comfy bed and beautiful view of the creek. Creek was also so clean and warm. Very campers, Barry and his son are great!
