Welcome to Barker Gap! Opened in August 2024 we offer 3 beautifully shaded rv/camper spots, 2 pull thru spots and 1 back in. We have NO size or slide out restrictions, our spots were built with your comfort in mind. All spots come standard with 50A/30A/110 electric hookup, city water, Bbq/park grill, stone fire pit and sewage hookup at every campsite. Wi-Fi is also included for all campers. At this time we do not have bathrooms available to tent camping or any primitive style camping.
The BEAR'S DEN cabin is a 1 room 1 bathroom cabin. Built to sleep 4 with a spacious queen bed perfect for falling asleep on, a cozy twin bed for reading/sleeping, and stowed under the twin bed is an adventure cot for that outside nap on the deck. The cabin is equipped with a mini fridge/freezer, a Keurig coffee maker, and a microwave) inverter. In the bathroom we have a metal wrapped 22" deep soaking tub equipped with a rainfall shower head to wash the stress away. No glamping cabin would be complete without a wave activated hand dryer a 43" Wi-Fi connected smart TV and the latest plug ins with USB ports included so you can forget that charging box at home. Coffee, bedding, towels, bar soap, provided. So what are you waiting for? It's time to camp!

Morning Light Mountain Lodge is our 5.7 acre dream come true on the side of Round Mountain in the Ouachita Mountains. We have several beautiful hiking trails and two breathtaking vistas at which to gaze at the picturesque mountains in the distance. “Meandering Trail” takes you to where the property borders the gigantic Ouachita National Forest. Keep going if you please. It’s 1.8 Million acres of wilderness made just for you! A true hunters paradise teeming with deer and other wildlife. The national forest is also accessible via Roger’s Pass and an easement. Bring your ATVs!If you like spectacular sunrises then this is the place for you. Just pray you have enough disk space on your camera! The Legendary Talimena Byway is just a few miles down the road; a 54 mile winding wonderland across the backs of the mighty Winding Stair and Ridge Mountains with dozens of pull-offs and vistas that are a feast for the senses. Plenty of Ouachita’s endless hiking trails can be accessed from the byway. Kayaking the incredible Kiamichi river can also be on your agenda. Amazing area to camp by the river. It’s unique to find a camp site that can be enjoyed in all four seasons. I visited for the beginning of the new year…2026! Additionally, It’s the first hip camp that I have been able to let my dogs off leash. It’s been three days since arriving home and they are still recovering from all the freedom and fun. We also enjoyed having a campfire, grill and picnic table. The shelter was spacious and overlooked the river. I was looking for a place to pray, hike, bike and kayak. I found all the plus the the quiet and peace at the End of the Trail. Wentz was a great host who answered all of my questions and provided many ideas for other adventures. It’s an incredible value financially considering you also get to kayak as much as you want as provided as part of the Hipcamp shelter. It only took five hours to get away from
Kansas City. Immediately , I got to enjoy the river and explore the Ouachita national forest. My favorite part of the day was watching the sunset over the mountains. I was double blessed with a full moon and numerous stars. I hope to come back and share my love of this site with my Grandson. If you enjoy nature, camping and adventure, you will love the End of the Trail!

Brian was very responsive, super accommodating, and the space was clean, beautiful and just what we needed! Our friends had a camper and we got Bears Den cabin bc we don’t so it was perfect. The check out day was the prettier day and he let us hang and not rush. It was very much appreciated and he was one of the best hosts with communication! Thanks Brian!

Weekend Trip to End of the Trail
This is a magical place!!! It is in a very secluded area. Had to pass a small creek which I was scared to do in my car that’s low to the ground, but it probably could have made it. Great place to have a fire and look at the stars. The only thing I wish is that we had more time!!! It was peaceful listening to the river at night. Also saw deer.

We loved our stay at Sacred Pines! We stayed in one of the tiny home cabins. Beautifully constructed, had everything we needed and more. The grounds surrounding us were a beautiful spot to walk our puppies around. Super peaceful and close to so many awesome hiking trails. Not great cell service out there (it’s the country, duh. We loved it, really made us more present and hangout with each other rather than be on screens) Perk: our tiny cabin had an awesome pizza oven that we used to make some home made pizza after a long hike! Thank you Miranda for creating such an awesome space, we will be back

We really enjoyed the view from the porch and the night sky! We did bring an ez-up, which gave us a place to hang out during the rain—the porch is obviously quite small. It was a short weekend, but it was the quiet, private place we were looking for!
