Our peaceful 20 acres has a good mix of woods, wild meadows and maintained cleared areas as well as a small pond, all of which can be explored via our nature trail. Enjoy the sounds of nature and an incredible night sky. FIREWOOD and seasonal farm goods are available for purchase at a self-serve stand (several payment options available). There is also a wonderful sauna on the property that can be reserved (go to sauna to reserve a time). Great hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, swimming, and disc-golfing opportunities just a few miles away at Paint Creek State Park and the Highland Nature Sanctuary. Amish country is also just 15 minutes away with a great bakery, markets and greenhouses. This area is home to an impressive network of ancient earthworks including the world famous Serpent Mound. Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife but NO hunting is allowed. Some of our designated tent sites do have firepits and/or picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. We are approximately 20 minutes from the nearest store so you'll want to come prepared. We are located in West Liberty (Morgan County). There are 2 centrally located bathhouses with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $20 per stay and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is centrally located near bath houses) you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs. The Sugar Shack is the perfect secluded primitive stay! Be prepared to take one of the wagons if you packed a lot of stuff. Aimee did a fantastic job utilizing her land for campers, It’s family friendly and there’s plenty to do. The wood burning stove was the perfect addition to our cold autumn evenings, it makes it so cozy while settling in for the night. When we first got there, Aimee had the stove packed for us already and a bundle of wood. I would recommend a trip here 10/10!!

Two of us stayed in the Cottage. The cottage was really nicely decorated and spacious. It had a lot of windows for views with thick curtains for night. There is a full size stove and literally 28 outlets. The greenhouse shower was nice and the water got hot quickly even though it was only 39°F outside. The toilet is an outhouse vault toilet like a porta potty but it does have an electric light and lots of tp. The hosts were helpful and chill. We mostly were there to visit the mounds and caves so we didn't explore much of the property but I think you could have a nice weekend just hanging around the farm. It was also a very reasonable price and close to what we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend it

Such a cute and unique place! I originally got Hipcamp to find some places for tent camping but thought the cabin was too cute. We loved the whole set up and farm. It’s private and well cared for. We loved the veggie and produce stand by the firewood. We also had a lovely farm cat stay with us for the second evening which was adorable. We are not afraid of bugs and spend most weekends camping but there were definitely a surplus of stink bugs in the cabin which made me a bit meh, mostly they were present in the daytime so not terrible at night. Guessing just a seasonal thing but definitely something to consider if you’re weird with bugs. Otherwise, everything was perfect!!

This place was truly magical. I did not want to leave. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and spent the weekend snuggled in the woods at the Sugar Shack. We enjoyed all of the trails connecting through the property, took advantage of the sauna, and took some homemade goodies home from the farm stand. I'd love to go back in the winter and enjoy the wood burning stove inside the shack. It wasn't quite warm enough for us to take advantage of it this trip.

We have never had a bad HipCamp experience, but Aimee’s farm far exceeded our expectations. Fruitdale Farms is an absolute gem of a retreat. It’s obvious that Aimee puts her heart and soul into this land. The Sugar Shack is such a charming place to unwind and reconnect with friends and nature. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. We were celebrating her birthday and the accommodations were perfect. This campsite is secluded and quiet. We needed a canister of propane and Aimee came through for us using venmo. Quick and easy communication. I would suggest packing light for this campsite however, there are 2 steep hills to conquer if you use the provided wheel barrels it can be a bit strenuous. Also the solar lights inside the a-frame didn’t work and neither did the white bulb lights outside. We brought plenty of lighting so it wasn’t that big of a deal. The trails were fun to navigate during our stay, overall a beautiful property!

Weekend Trip to Possum Ridge Ranch

As a solo female camper I felt 100% safe here. The hosts are way cool! Gorgeous property, very spacious, accommodates a variety of tastes from quiet solo to fun groups. The "fun barn" has games, a kitchen, music and even a claw machine (don't try for the stuffed turtle). Great trails and the friendliest ducks ever. I'm going back! Oh yeah - as mentioned in the listing it's best to get there before sundown, the roads are ridge/hollow twisty without lights. Signage at the ranch is great. Truly a special place.

3 nights at Whimsical Treehouses and Trails!!

We had such an amazing experience staying in the treehouse. The children loved the slide on the balcony and the giant net hammock. The treehouse is well-equipped with electrical lights, fans, outlets, a space heater, and an A/C window unit. There are several miles of hiking trails to explore on the property, and we enjoyed crossing the net bridge and seeing the ruins of the 19th-century settler's cabin. Everything looked just like the pictures, and my kids were so sad to leave--they said they want to live there forever!
